The announcement made by the Canadian High Commission of the opening of a new Visa Application Centre at 32C, Sir Macan Markar Mawatha, Colombo 03 is great news to all the potential immigrants, visitor and others who will be needing the services to enable them to travel to Canada. The services to be provided by this centre will definitely strengthen the friendlier relations between the two countries and create an atmosphere of mutual satisfaction and understanding of a longstanding bilateral relationship both Canada and Sri Lankan have enjoyed, as sovereign states, members of the UN and specially members of the Commonwealth.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The services included are a clear exercise of the extension of the values and virtues of the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration of the Federal Government of Canada which expresses the Canadian concerns of the friendly citizens of Sri Lankan and an honest reach out to provide the best of service in the field to make travel and immigration to Canada easier within the parameters of the immigration laws of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the official authority that deals with matters concerning the services made available.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Canadian Friends of Sri Lanka which to thank the new Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka HE. Bruce Levy and his staff in Colombo, the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration in Canada and CIC for making this happen. This centre will be another pillar of strength towards the stronger bridges of friendship that are being built between the two democratic nations.
