Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya UK (MKA), the youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at) in the UK this weekend successfully held its 38th Annual National Conference (Ijtema) at Islamabad in Tilford, Surrey. The three day event, which was attended by nearly 4,000 delegates, included numerous academic and sporting activities as well as exhibitions by various organizations such as the British Army, Police and Rescue Services. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The highlight of the event was the presence of the world Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad who concluded the event with a faith inspiring address on last Sunday afternoon in which he spoke about the sacrifices made by Ahmadi Muslims throughout the world, most notably in Pakistan where the community continues to face the most horrific State sanctioned persecution.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ His Holiness was also in attendance when the British Army sportingly took part in a Tug of War competition against a team of MKA. This competition was decisively won by MKA much to the delight of the many Ahmadis in attendance. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ During the final session a report was submitted by the President of the Ahmadiyya Youth Wing, UK, Tommy Kallon who briefed the conference about a charitable donations made by MKA in the past year. Under the leadership of Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Ahmadiyya Muslim JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at is committed to serving mankind and in respect of this Tommy Kallon announced that a total of over ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚£284,000 had been raised during the past year and handed over to various charities. As well as supporting various local British charities, tens of thousands of pounds were also raised for disaster relief efforts in Haiti and Pakistan. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ During his concluding address His Holiness, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad spoke about how the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at) had had to face great opposition and cruelty throughout its history but that the JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at had always responded to such hostility with patience and prayers. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ His Holiness spoke about the tragic events of 28 May 2010 when 86 innocent Ahmadi Muslims were brutally martyred in two Ahmadi mosques in Lahore. He narrated the stories of some of the survivors who spoke of the gun fire, bombs and grenades that were detonated as worshippers continued with prayers. He spoke of the great bravery of young Ahmadi children who witnessed the carnage go on for hours and saw the dead bodies strewn across the two mosques. He said:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-These martyrs in Pakistan prove that Ahmadi Muslims are ready for every sacrifice for the sake of their faith and it is such spirit that grants life to a Divine Community. It is therefore our duty to remember their sacrifices because the baton has now passed onto us to maintain the great purpose for which they gave their lives. Great nations learn from the sacrifices of their forefathers and such events are not remembered to instill fear but to inspire.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ His Holiness continued by counseling the Ahmadi Muslims that there was nothing wrong with seeking worldly success. However such worldly and material gains ought to be a means to better a person spiritually, thus improving the peace and prosperity of todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s divided world. He counseled that absolute truth and the keeping of trusts were crucial to success. Ahmadi Muslims should be known for their virtues above all else in the same way that not even the bitterest enemies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) dared to call him a liar because they knew that every act and deed of his was steeped in absolute honesty.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Referring again to the persecution faced by the Ahmadiyya Community, His Holiness said:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Never despair over the cruelty inflicted upon our JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at in Pakistan and elsewhere. If not now then certainly future generations of Ahmadis will see change and success.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
