The Prime Minister of Australia
Hon.Julia Gillard,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Dear Prime Minister,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Natural Disasters and Financial Burdens in Australia.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ At the outset let me congratulate Madam Prime Minister you, and Premier of Queensland Anna Bligh for an excellent professionalism both maintained during the recent tragic events. Both Ladies unashamedly showed their emotions witnessing the heartrending events of the unfortunate victims.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We have witnessed the devastation of life and property due to the Floods and the Cyclone Yasi in Queensland, Northern Territory and also the forest fires in Western Australia. Indeed year 2011 started off with natural and man-made mayhem and devastation right around the Globe. Just now our neighbour New Zealand is facing an Earth Quake in Christchurch reducing almost all structures Heritage listed and the rest to rubble along with the innocent lives.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When the people in these effected areas were subjected to extreme hardships in Australia, the Nation extended their support in cash and kind. Their generosity was magnanimous. However the destruction to the infrastructures and personal properties were so heavy that, Your Government had to take stringent measures to restore the affected areas back to normal. Further to set in improved strategies to minimize future after effects from catastrophes to the public and to the utilities, when the Nature unleashes her wrath these measures are unavoidable. This how a responsible administration should do the forward planning. Your actions are commendable!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In order to find the required capital your Government had to introduce a one off flood relief levy for people drawing salaries from and above fifty thousand dollars per annum. The percentage levy being gradually increased with the income without incurring much discomfort to the wallet. This was indeed not accepted either by the public nor the Opposition. The argument was the public has already subscribed voluntarily generously, therefore it is unreasonable to double dip. However the Government is adamant and successfully debating the issue in the Parliament to get the final approval, now it is a matter of time for this to be legal. You have shown your negotiating skills exceptionally.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ While this is debated, the alternate numerous solutions are put forward by the Opposition. Some were ethically not feasible, the others were to deviate the development of the proposed infrastructure in order to embarrass your Governments election mandate. This too is skillfully orchestrated.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The only wasteful expenditure that I have seen, spent and continued to spend is the colossal amount for the Asylum seekers. Today the country is burden with an exodus of Refugees. With the unrest in the Middle Eastern countries there will be some more Political defectors as well. Under the Geneva Convention, the signatories have the responsibility to absorb as much as one could. Unfortunately no country has a bottomless exchequer. Then lets not waste want not!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Out of these refugees we have seen some are not real refugees, they have some more other managed to manipulate the kind nature of the unsuspecting Australians in influential positions to fall through the cracks in the system. They have successfully pulled wool over the eyes of the Politicians, Clergy, the learned and VIPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s of various categories such as Ambassadorial staff.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Among those refugees undoubtedly there are genuine ones. Those from Sri Lanka are economic migrants who have jumped the queue from the genuine applicants who have lodged their applications through the Embassies. They are been financed by the early arrivals that have amassed funds through nefarious means. Initially these funds were used to purchase heavy artillery, ships, aircraft etc to destroy life and property in Sri Lanka, and also to buy influential people in the West to be their voice. However, finally they were unsuccessful in May of 2009 with the annihilation of the brutal Terrorist leaders of the LTTE. Since then the left over funds right round the Globe is now used to finance these economic refugees and to continue the denigration of the image of Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s strange why the your Government doesnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t think why other refugees are not having a voice in support for them, fine they are Muslims, surely there are Christians among them too. Unfortunately they ran for their life, believing someone will listen to reason and absorb them to Australia, the early arrivals of their people are not organized like the Tamil Diaspora, therefore they do not have that extra finances nor did they lobby the local Parliamentarians to get their sympathy, as they were only too happy to get on with their freedom in this country. They didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t work on a cunning scheme to mass migrate to a Greener pasture on a false account. Hence they are on their own.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These Sri Lankan refugees not only seek residential status, they clamour for right Royal treatment while in detention, the West is so naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve they give in to all this nonsense. These are real parasites, leeches that have conned their way to siphon the wealth of this country.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Surely this unwanted expenditure is a colossal drain to this country, this could be redirected to build the infrastructure in the disaster-affected areas. The latest contributions to New Zealand too are purely a humanitarian effort of a compassionate neighbour.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is no war or communal disturbances now in Sri Lanka, in fact, all Sri Lankan refugees in India is clamouring to go back to Sri Lanka, if they are willing to go, why cannot Australia pack back all these bogus refugees to Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I respectfully hope, you would give undivided consideration to these revelations.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Yours Sincerely,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Vajiragnana Warnakulasuriya,
Melbourne
