Microsoft Student Ambassador Faculty of Information Technology University of Moratuwa

NEXiT, organized by the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Moratuwa, is an exhibition that aims to fulfill the Information and Communication Technology oriented knowledge requirements of the populace of Sri Lanka in a noteworthy manner, by being the ‘IT Exhibition of the Year’. NEXiT will be known as the first ever IT Exhibition of this scale organized by a higher education institution/ University in Sri Lanka, which is planned to be held on 24th, 25th, and 26th of May 2011 at Faculty of Information Technology, University of Moratuwa as a part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the faculty of IT. This is the successor to “Unlocking Young Minds”: the Seventh and Fifth Anniversary Celebration Exhibitions held in 2009 and 2006. The primary objective of the exhibition is to:

 Educate the general public and the school children about the versatility of developments in IT under the following areas;

· IT for the software Industry

· IT for other industries

· Future trends in IT

The exhibition will demonstrate a selected number of undergraduate projects, award winning projects at various competitions, and invited projects from other universities and institutions. In association with the exhibition, there will be an IT competition which will provide an opportunity for the secondary student community (schools) to show their talents. Over 2000 schools have been invited to participate in this

competition by sending in applications along with their project proposals. A selected number of projects will be shortlisted for the final round based on the proposals. The winners will receive valuable prizes and certificates.

    MS is not a good technology partner for SL since this company like to monopolise the innovation.. Hope our bright engineers and technologist learn the best and throw away the rubbish this company propagate.
    Future is with Open technologies and not closed rubbish this company advocate.
