Australian ICJ joins Tamil Tiger Rump to Stir Up New Allegations Against Sri Lanka

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Tamil Tiger rump in Australia still smarting after the 2009 defeat of the internationally designated terrorist group called the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) whom they funded over the last quarter century in the hope of establishing a mono-ethnic, racist Tamil state called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-EelamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, in the north and east of Sri Lanka encompassing 1/3^rd of the land spread over 2/3^rd of the coastline for resident Tamils numbering less than 4% of the islandƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s population,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ partnered with the Australian ICJ haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ churned up new allegationsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with intentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to embarrass Sri Lanka just before the Commonwealth Heads of Government hold their bi-annual meeting in Perth.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All other preceding allegations made by various INGO, the UNSGƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Darusman Panel, Channel 4, Gordon Weiss the former UN spokesperson in Colombo, etc. which have been based on hearsay coming from second, third, or fourth hand sources, added to which you have the spin of the Tamil translators, remain unsubstantiated, as no verifiable evidence that could be presented to a court has been forthcoming thus far.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Is Meena Krishnamoorthy a Credible Witness?

The source of the present allegations come from an Australian resident of Sri Lankan Tamil origin named Meena Krishnamoorthy, who claims she visited Sri Lanka to learn Tamil and became a witness to atrocities committed by the Sri Lankan Army against the civilian population like herself during the latter stages of the military action in 2009.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  She has obviously trained in dance and drama as the ABC video shows, and beenƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ well coached and rehearsed by the Tiger propagandists to come up with a song and dance ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ her allegations of shelling of an unnamedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ hospital where her friend a lady doctor is said to have died, and also discovering a new sound of gun fire whichƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was identified as cannon fire which she assumed wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ directed by the Sri Lankan Navy towards civilians standing on the beach at Puthumatalan, to which the Tiger fighters retreated along with the remaining civilians that were herded and brought there to form a human shield.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is indeed strange that Meena Krishnamoorthy waited two and a half years after the conclusion of the hostilities to come up with her allegations, especially when several leading INGO such as the ICG, HRW, Amnesty, Channel 4,and the UNSGƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Darusman Panel were loudly calling for such accounts, to instead bring up her stories just before the CHOGM sessions commenced in Australia in 2011.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is also strange that she did not have opportunities to learn Tamil, because all Tamil households converse mainly in Tamil, whilst Tamil expat communities have set up special classes for teaching Tamil to their children wherever they live, that she decided to leave to Sri Lanka and reside in the Vanni region controlled by the LTTE terrorists midst the ongoing hostilities instead of staying in the capital city of Colombo where the Tamils comprise a 41% majority, for this purpose.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Another interesting feature is that she is the only one to allege that the displaced civilians were being targeted with cannon fire by Sri Lankan Naval vessels out at sea.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  She says she heard the sound which others identified for her as cannon fire, and she did not ascertain the direction from which it came but assumed it was from the Sri Lankan Navy vessels and not those operated by the Sea Tigers who had similar weapons mounted on their craft.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This latter allegation has been concocted for the specific purpose of turning on the heat on Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s High Commissioner to Australia, Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe who was in charge of northern naval operations during the military action to rid the country of three decades Tamil Tiger terrorism

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Meena’s background is now coming to the surface:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

Now it appears that Meena Krishnamoorthy like the other woman Damilvany Gnanakumar from the UK who became a part narrator in the Channel 4 video, are both LTTE activists belonging to the die hard Tamil Youth Organization (TYO) who closely worked with Castro, the notoriousƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ head of LTTE International Network based in Vanni.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The TYO is actively engaged in propaganda, fundraising, procurement of arms and ammunitionƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and other activities, whose university educated members in Canada were earlier nabbed by the FBI when they sought to purchase SAM missiles, buy design for a submarineƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and bribe a federal official to have the LTTE delisted in the USA. Intelligence reports have nowƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ pointed outƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that she tooƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ had undergone military training for six months in an LTTE base in Muthaiyankaddu, and that she is not the innocent young miss to went to the Vanni to learn Tamil and look after poor orphan babies..

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Meena Krishnamoorthy also claimed to have initially volunteered her services at an orphanage in the Vanni and later assisted the medical officers in dispensing care.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Orphanages have been set up by the LTTE, in order to raise funds through its supposedly humanitarian wing called the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), which is a funnel for siphoning funds for its terrorist warfare.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Nirupama Subramaniam writing in the Frontline Magazine of December 20, 2001, called it the farm where the LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Baby Brigade is raised.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Christian Worker also reported sometime back that the Chencholai Homes were used for brainwashing children to become Black Tiger Suicide Bombers who would sacrifice their lives for the cause of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-EelamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Amy Walden of the New York Times who visited one of these so called orphanages was not given access to the adolescent children at the centre. She wrote, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- It certainly is not a Summer Camp where school girls gather to have fun and learn useful life skills.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Meena Krishnamoorthy also said that she met her lifeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s partner, a LTTE cadre/official whom she married while in the LTTE controlled Vanni.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is a known dictum of Late Velupillai. Prabhakaran, the failed leader of the LTTE, that LTTE cadres can only marry someone from the women cadres of the outfit. Was that particular LTTE official given any exception to the rule by the dictatorial head, or was Meena an activist cadre who complied with the existing rules.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  She certainly did not strike as the innocent Australian girl who travelled to the Tamil Tiger terrorist controlled Vanni to learn Tamil, be the nightingale that cared for the orphans and helped with the sick and injured, where she falls in love and meets her lifeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s partner whom she marries only to have her dreams shattered by the unexpected tragedies that she never expected to experience, as the TigersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ promise of victory and an independent ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-EelamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ state was not to be.
