Muslims Killing Each Other & the Innocent Non-Muslims!

Right on Shenali Waduge!

Your script Why are Muslims killing each other? – Shenali Waduge (LankaWeb – 29/10/11) is Spot On!

The way the Libyans disposed of Colonel Ghadaafi, in a most uncivilised, brutal, violent manner, whilst screaming “Alla hu Akbar”, demonstrated only their disgraceful mind-set. Blood thristy, savage mentality.

There is no single Muslim / Islam country in the world under democratic civilised rule, in the Middle East, Asia or in Africa. Muslim rulers, rule these countries with strict discipline and dictatorial control, which the fellow Muslims seem to understand.

The Sri Lanka Muslims, addressed as “Marakkalaya” are the sea-faring pirates from African North, the Moroccans, some of whom jumped ship and dropped their “anchor” in Serendib or Tabrobane.

Then those who joined hands with the immigrant Tamils, some even joined the LTTE Terrorists till they were out of favour, kicked-out by Velupillai Prabhakaran, another low-life from the North.

The entire European Union countries are in favour of getting Muslims in Europe to abide by the EU Country Laws. Same applies in USA too. Passengers with Arabic or Muslim names are targeted more often for security checks. Anyone who wishes that EU or USA laws need to be changed to accommodate Muslim/Islam mindset, better stay out of these countries. And above all most Muslim countries do not practice Religious Tolarence!

A case in point was that when Dubai government owned Port of Dubai attempted to invest in American Ports, they were summarily ordered to Keep-Out, by the “friendly” American government of George W. Bush.

It is now proven in Europe and USA that most of the Muslim terrorists in these countries are second or third generations born in these countries, but influenced by the local Mosques and/or inducted in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and other “Terrorist-breeding” countries, to kill the innocent.

Singapore is one country where the multi-ethnic, multi-religious citizens and visitors are kept in-check under strict Code-of-Conduct, which Sri Lanka may look into seriously, to consider such a model.

Shenali Waduge was spot-on, clearly illustrated the Muslim character of evil, blood-thirsty, savage mind-set!

I fully agree with the current Government activity in “control” by establishing a military HQ in Killinochchi and a strong visible presence in strategic points and go for “Zero Tolarence” in Law & Order.

    Hello Low life Hudson Mclean,

Definitely you too get around 50 hatred comments from nonsensical commentators.

///There is no single Muslim / Islam country in the world under democratic civilised rule, in the Middle East, Asia or in Africa. Muslim rulers, rule these countries with strict discipline and dictatorial control, which the fellow Muslims seem to understand.///

Don’t you know Malaysia and Indonesia are Muslim countries under democratic and civilised rule. Egypt and African countries, and so on. I do not know which subject you have professed in University. May be in maskade University.

Almost all of the Muslim countries have good friendship with Sri Lanka. Fortunately, all the Muslim countries whether they are democratic or dictatorial rule, support Sri Lanka in UN overwhelmingly.

Sri Lanka is grateful to those countries.

I don’t think you have excelled in a University, may be you have bought for money for your doctorate Degree and calling yourself as bogus Professor.

///A case in point was that when Dubai government owned Port of Dubai attempted to invest in American Ports, they were summarily ordered to Keep-Out,///

Dubai and US has some business disputes. Those disputes could be cleared amicably by those rich countries. Who are you to talk about their business? After all you are only a low life paid servant.

Go to University again, and follow a degree in Ethics, how to talk with people in civilised manner! Shame on to you!

Your writings depicts like a fourth class studied scavenger.

    Well said prof! (as always)

Jimmy the janitor is using filth in this NOBLE forum. The 2 pigs as usual talk nonsense which nobody cares. Some piggies who now blame you hailed you when you talked about visas! :) Funny!

More and more people come to know of these barbarians’ intentions. Not all Muslims are violent and not all non-Muslims are non-violent.

  4. AnuD Says:

Jimmy is a born again christian who believes that Tamils should have their own country in Sri Lanka. I think the simple reason is they build the Vatican of the East in Jaffna and can reach to Tamilnadu where they are not welcome.

Anyway, even in Canada, right now there is a court case. One husband killed his first wife and the daughters from the second wife all of whom were living in the same house. the simple reason was the first wife was helping, as I heard, the daughters to behave like “unmuslim”. They planned and sent the whole SUV under water with people inside in it.

Not only Europe is Quebec is also very much against Muslim extremism. Because they try to validate their abuse of women. I think, for muslims women are good on the bed and after that they are just slaves.

  5. Leela Says:

The state religion of all the western countries is Christianity. Queen is the head of the Christian Church in England. All hierarchy in the realm of Norway has to be Lutheran Christians. Naturally, culture of all these countries is based on Judo-Christian doctrine. That is because, Christianity itself is based on a religion called Judaism. Not just Christianity and all its divisions, but Muhammadism or Islam and its sub sects are also based on the initial principle of Judaism and its’ God.

The religion of Judaism is based on the belief of ‘One God’. This ‘One God’ was first brought about by an ancient and a minor nomadic race called the Hebrews. They were the ancestors of the present day Jews in Israel. Hebrew scriptures say; the ‘One God’ had anointed a Hebrew man called Abraham as his messiah in the middle of the desert to read his first message to Hebrews or Jews. Thereafter, this desert God is said to have chosen many more messiahs to transmit further messages. For one thing, all those messiahs were Hebrews and they preached only to Hebrews. Hence, Hebrew believed, God’s commandments were intended only for them and no other. So, for thousands of years Hebrew alone followed the desert God.

A Hebrew man named Jesus and non Hebrew named Muhammad has changed all that for good. Jimmy and other Christians believe Jesus Christ is that God, and Ahmad and Muslims believe Muhammad is his last prophet.

Now, if the God is one, ‘the word of God’ should be one. He and his prophets should have preached the same or at least corresponding things. Alas! Each one of them challenged the teaching of other. Each one of them said they alone preach the true word of God. Every one of them not only preached different things and dissimilar moral codes as true word of God, but also condemned the practices of others as skewed and created hells for them. They all said they alone could go to One God’s heaven.

The first ever Bible or Hebrew Bible says; the God had helped Hebrews to kill the gentiles (non Jews) and win their wars. And the Christian Bible is said to have finalized by Constantine after winning his war with the help of the Godly cross. And the Koran says; Prophet Muhammad fought many wars to wipe out the wrong beliefs, meaning Christianity and Judaism. No wonder Christians have ganged up with the Jews against the Muslims to preserve the true word of God. Now anyone can see; these three religions had bequeathed us nothing but peace.

    Islam: What Can be Done?

What can we do about Islam and the
threat that it poses to Western values?

    12-11-2006

Our least favorite question is unfortunately one that we see quite a bit. Readers who understand Islamic history and teaching, and thus realize the danger that it poses to our future naturally want to know what can be done to prevent this from happening.

Our conclusion is that educating oneself, educating others, and speaking truthfully about “the Religion of Peace” is the best start. Islam is it’s own worst enemy in that the more that is known about it, the less attractive it becomes… to everyone.

Islam spreads like a virus. It radiates from Muslim countries that are too diseased to support it and into healthy systems that are that way because they have had the luxury of developing apart from Islam. Once in the host system, the Islam virus uses the existing machinery to make replicas of itself. Over time, the host makes unilateral concessions to the religion, feeding and appeasing it in the vain hope that it can be pacified.

Vital organs are co-opted and eventually shut down as Islam advances. In a matter of time, the entire system groans to an agonizing death and assumes the condition of the diseased nations from which Muslims originally fled. The virus then looks for new hosts to cannibalize.

Some Westerners, particularly those with children (and an investment in the future), are far-sighted enough to trace the eventual end game of current trends. Though many Muslims are decent people, the religion itself always has a way of bringing the radicals along with it. The radicals then infest and influence the mainstream – and the rest of society pays the cost.

A question that we often hear is, “What can we do about it?”

First, let’s go over what shouldn’t be done about it.

    1) Do NOT hurt Muslims. Westerners generally don’t have a problem with this anyway, and have shown remarkable restraint in the wake of horrendous terror attacks. Bottom line: You don’t know any terrorists. The Muslims that you know in your private life are not terrorists. Don’t harm them or protect anyone who does.

    2) Do NOT harass Muslims. The Muslims that you know personally are probably not much different than you are. They have the same concerns for their children’s future and the same interests in getting ahead in life. They do not deserve to be harassed on account of a religion that they probably either don’t understand all that well or may not even believe too sincerely anyway.

    3) Do NOT vandalize the property of Muslims. (Same reasons. Grow up.)

    4) Do NOT publicly abuse copies of the Quran It doesn’t accomplish anything other than giving radicals another reason to play the victim, get angry, and perhaps hurt someone. It’s also juvenile and offensive. Treat the Quran the way that you would prefer Muslims treat whatever book that you consider sacred.

If you want to confront Islam, then you must be truthful and objective, rather than rude and slanderous. Don’t exaggerate or use absolutes. Don’t say that all Muslims are bad people (they aren’t), or that everything about Islam is bad.

The key to stopping Islam is education, because the more that is known about this 7th century religion the less appeal it will have in today’s world. Muslim defenders know this, which is why they hide behind censorship and book banning in the Islamic world and desperate but comical appeals to political correctness and multiculturalism in the West. Muslim organizations, such as CAIR, often rely on outright falsehood to deceive others into dropping their defenses.

Non-Muslim Westerners should understand that there is no reason to place Islam above criticism or Muslims above offense merely on that basis. In fact, there is every reason not to do this. Islamic law poses a threat to nearly every liberal value that the West holds dear.

Learn as much as you can about why Islam is dangerous. Understand its history. Learn how thousands of people can do brutal things each year explicitly in the name of Islam and Allah, while a billion others never seem to be terribly bothered about it.

In short, educate yourself. Then you can educate others. And they can educate others as well. Remember, Islam is not just a religion, but also a political system.

Write to political leaders. Inform them. Make them accountable for each compromised standard and every freedom lost in the name of appeasement to Islam. Expose the lies and double-standards. Denounce the hypocrisy of Muslim nations.

    Speak truthfully. Speak tactfully.

If Islam wins, then civilization loses… but at least we will have gone down swinging.

What McLEan says is not wrong although too direct to be acceptable to wider audience.
    Take this one, for instant.
“The way the Libyans disposed of Colonel Ghadaafi, in a most uncivilised, brutal, violent manner, whilst screaming “Alla hu Akbar”, demonstrated only their disgraceful mind-set. Blood thristy, savage mentality.”
True ! No need to go so far. Look ar Miss Naffeek now in the jail in most uncivilised Saudi Arabia, where they drive nails into human bodies.
But , the professor of theology knows very well that Gadaafi brutal killing was organised by Christians. Therefore your christian culture is even more uncivilised.
As Buddhist we should not approve killing of any nature (specially now we have got rid of the bad lot at home !)

how dare you are to even think I support separartion. Is it because I am a Tamil . Why you think like that?
    shame on you Pal
You need to see a Psychaitrist to take the hatred from you

I was not happy about Prof.Mcleans writing
In my humble and honest opinion Muslims in Srilanka are more patritic than tamils like me
And when People like Professor write articles like this , Muslims in Lanka will be hurt
I care less for Muslims outside Srilanka
I am for unity unlike Professor or Anud .Writings like this will not help other than getting 5 minutes fame from thugs in this Noble forum

I agree when people write against terrorists, any one who likes to divide
we all can live like brothers and sisters in the short life on earth

attack on others faith is unacceptable. It is very very mean
    I do not agree .

  9. AnuD Says:

Unlike Buddhism which has two major factions and overall three factions, both the Christianity and Islam have so many factions. Christianity is supposed to have about 33000 factions. Because some use Scrolls as their “bible”. Islam also has very peaceful, Sufi or Zorastrians, factions. Christianity also has very peaceful factions. e.g. Armis.

As these both religions are very political, Wahabi faction is told to be the very extremist faction. That factions is a recent creation during the last century and it spoils everything.

  10. Ben_silva Says:

Well said Prof. Your views are appreciated by many. Religion, if at all, should be to provide a moral framework and should not be used as an excuse to kill non believers.

  11. jimmy Says:

    My Gosh
If people who are educated behave like this how in the world common people in Srilanka will behave
I am very very very sad and uncomfortable to think how any one in the right mind talk or write against other faith
It is beyond imagination . I am very disappointed that even we are discussing on others faith
    very very sad

I strongly believe we need to create councelling , Psychiatric clinics all over the country
free of charge atleast for 6-7 years
love , respect other race and faith should be taught in the councelling to every one from 5 years old to 100 years old
Unless it is taught I doubt very much there will be everlasting peace

    thank you

  12. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

Not quite. True most Muslims were against LTTE because most Muslims are good people. But not all.

e.g. Hackhim (the only Muslim leader to join the LTTE)

Ever wondered why LTTE took 7 more years to ethnically cleanse Muslims (1990) after Sinhalese were ethnically cleansed in 1983?

Initially some Muslims were with the LTTE until the IPKF, Mossad and GOSL came up with a strategy to pit one against the other. That was a remarkable success.

  13. Lorenzo Says:

    Jimmy,

Respect others’ right to EXPRESS THEMSELVES.

For your information, it is called freedom of expression.

Just because others’ have different views, it doesn’t mean they are mental cases. If they start killing, etc. over their views, then yes. Not otherwise.

  14. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

    Here it is.

Allah’s apostle was asked, “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in Allah and his Apostle.” The questioner then asked, “What is the next?” He replied, “To participate in Jihad in Allah’s cause.” (Hadith vol. 1, no. 25).

The Hadith also says that Murderous Muslims could take the property of people they killed during a Jihad (there are different types of Jihad). In addition to killing infidels like Christians and Jews, Muslims are also commanded to kill anyone who leaves Islam (Hadith vol. 4, no. 260).

The Quran requires violence. Sura 9:5 says,

Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every strategem of war.

Sura 5:33 records what is done to infidels who resist Islam:

Their punishment is…execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from the opposite sides, or exile from the land.

Muhammad also burned out eyes with hot irons (Hadith vol. 1, no. 234) and deprived people of water until they died (vol. 8, no. 796).

  15. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

    Looks like you are confused!!!!!

  16. Lorenzo Says:

I’m no fan of Mossad who KNOWINGLY trained LTTE terrorists and called us BLACK MONKEYS. It was the foolish SL government that engaged them and paid for them. But to their credit they achieved some successes too. We cannot deny that.

  18. abdulaziz Says:

Referring to: Muslims killing each other & the innocent non-Muslims by Prof. Hudson McLe an and Why are Muslims killing each other by Shenali Waduge, here are few undeniable facts:
In September 2006, Pope Benedict XVI set off worldwide controversy while quoting Manuel II during a lecture at the University of Regensburg in Germany:
“Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Despite of the Pope’s late apology, his statement is being taken by Muslims as part of a continuity of Islamophobic statements made by high profile Christians like Franklin Graham, who has described Islam as a “very evil and wicked religion”.
Among the just and fair voices raised, was in his classic exposé of Christian violence worldwide, A History of Christianity, the Western Christian scholar Paul Johnson rejects the Western propaganda about Islam’s “violent” expansion by stating that:
“The success of Islam sprang essentially from the failure of Christian theologians to solve the problem of the Trinity and Christ’s nature.”
Here under some of the facts that you cannot hide yourself away from it, while reading the Christianity and Violence in early and current history:
    1. The Crusaders
To start a new general European massive movement, like the Crusades, the leadership of a central figure was needed. Pope Urban II was the only central figure at the time in the entire West with an authority that transcended all of Western Europe’s national boundaries.

On November 25, 1095, Pope Urban II delivered in Clermont, France, what was perhaps the single most effective speech in Western history – one that has influenced the West up to the present time. Not only did the Pope appeal to the Western masses through religious motives, but he also used what came to be known as the typical Western ideological argument in support of a colonialist and imperialist policy that eventually led Europe in later generations to brutally colonize the entire non-European world. In this historic speech, Pope Urban II reminded the Europeans that their lands were suffering from widespread economic problems:

“For this land which you inhabit, shut in on all sides by the seas and surrounded by the mountain peaks, is too narrow for your large population; nor does it abound in wealth, and it furnishes scarcely food enough for its cultivators. Hence it is that you murder and devour one another, that you wage war, and that very many among you perish in civil strife.”

The Pope then quickly pointed out that the Arab land of Palestine to which they would be going for their Crusade “floweth with milk and honey … like another paradise of delights.” Pope Urban II then passionately exhorted the faithful Westerners:

“Set out on the road to the Holy Sepulcher, take that land from the wicked people and make it your own!” After the Pope ended his fiery speech, the entire large European crowd responded jubilantly with a loud roar: “Dieu le veult!” (God wills it!).
During the Crusades (1095 until 1291) European Christians attacked and occupied this Holy land. They oppressed the Muslims, the local Christians and the Jews. These Crusaders killed over 200,000 innocent civilians.
The aim: to wrest control of Jerusalem from the Muslims. This was not only a period of bloodshed, hostility and violence. It was also the beginning of collective Western stereotypes of Islam and Muslims, according to some scholars.
When US President George W. Bush (who speaks to God) said in 2001 – in response to the terrorist attacks of 9-11 – that the US was waging a “Crusade” on Arab and Muslim “terrorism”, he was actually conjuring up the old nightmarish horrors of the Western terrorist Crusades against the Arabs.
    2. Muslim Spain versus Christian Spain
Many Muslims look back at Muslim Spain with pride. But Jews also call it their “golden era”.
Spain became part of the Islamic world at the beginning of the eighth century. Under Muslims, Spain became the center of civilization. Although many local Spaniards embraced Islam, Christians and Jews were free in all aspects of their lives. The Muslims respected their religion and institutions. The result was the birth of the first true cosmopolitan culture in the West.
As Christian Crusaders of Spain expelled Muslims, civilization that took centuries to build was destroyed. Muslims and Jews were either expelled or forced to convert to Christianity. Millions died as tolerance was replaced by the Spanish Inquisition. A suspected Muslim was to be killed for the smallest act resembling Islamic tradition – such as taking a bath on Friday.
    3. World and other local Wars
A conservative estimate puts the total number of brutal deaths in the 20th. Century, were more than 250 million. The greatest death totals come from World War I (about 20 million, at least 90 % of which were inflicted by “Christians”) and World War II (90 million, at least 50% of which were inflicted by “Christians,” the majority of the rest occurring in the Far East).
Did the Holocaust of over 6 million Jews occur out of the background of a Muslim Civilization?

    Rawanda, 1994
Witness the slaughter of 900,000 Rwandans in 1994 in a population that was over 90 % Christian
    1992-1995 Bosnia
The genocide of over 300,000 Muslims and systematic rape of over 100,000 Muslim women by Christian Serbs.
    4. Current relations between the Muslims and Christians
Muslims feel culturally enslaved, in many ways to the predominantly Christian West. The United States, with the new geopolitical reality of uni-polar world, continues to dictate policies to smaller nations of the world.
This new form of colonialism is done with the help of local lackeys in Muslim countries who take their orders about how their countries should be run from Washington, D.C. as opposed to locally.
On a larger level, British, French, American and Russian colonial powers (all Western, and all predominantly Christian) also control Muslim and other Third World countries through international institutions like the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Security Council of the United Nations.
    5. Despots and dictators
A second example of Western neo-colonialism is found in these countries’ support for corrupt dictators, totalitarian despots and anti-democratic forces in the Muslim world. Muslims question how sincere the Western belief in justice and democracy really is when this happens.
For instance, the government of France supported the Algerian army when it canceled elections following the victory at the ballot of the Islamic Salvation Front party in 1992. France is the country famed for “liberty, equality and fraternity”. It seems this is not what they had in mind for the Muslims in their former colonial baby, Algeria.
The United States, which touts “freedom and democracy”, has similarly supported undemocratic regimes in Muslim and other countries. Justice, it seems, is not for all, especially not Muslims.
    A. A. Aziz

  19. Lorenzo Says:

    Aziz,

    Pope is no prophet.

Look what your prophet said. Also not the language of violence.

Saudi Arabia is the worst dictatorship ruled by despots. Fix that first.

“Justice, it seems, is not for all, especially not Muslims.

Yes. You got this right. Why?

Because they kill each other in tens of thousands every year and when they stop that they kill others. Which is worse? Obviously killing others. So lets learn to live with the least dangerous option (Muslims killing other Muslims).

But we MUST protect peaceful Muslims (peaceful in OUR VIEW). We cannot let western mobsters go killing innocent Muslims in millions. Others are OK.

But for that Muslims must show to us that they,

    1. reject jihad, holy war, killing/harming non-believers
    2. embrace the national law as the SUPREME LAW of the country (higher than Islamic law).
    3. are peaceful and no more violent that the society. (a reasonable level of violence is accepted by every society, unfortunately).

8, no. 796).

  20. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

“sorry your self made coments are not reliable :). i want the reliable source”

You are confused. You say one thing once and another at a another time.

If you want reliable sources, stop believing in the books of violence (listed above including Hadith, Sura))! They are not reliable.

If you kill non believers, they will gang up on you and kill your entire community. This is what is happening in the world today.

  21. Ben_silva Says:

I agree with the useful contribution made by Geoff. No one should be abused or hurt because of their beliefs.

  22. abdulaziz Says:

    Lorenzo

Jihad is not the one as you commented. I detail about the Islamic Concept of Jihad for the benefit of the seekers-after truth. Jihad is an important duty and its obligatory nature and its importance is quite clear on the basis of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet’s sayings, Jihad is a comprehensive word which packs a vast range of meaning within it.

A proper study of Qur’an and Sunnah reveals that Jihad is a comprehensive concept covering vast range of meanings. The word Jihad with its various derivatives has been used in the Qur’an in no less than 35 verses. The word Jihad literally means, to strive, to endeavor, to contend, to struggle strenuously and to stretch one’s efforts to limit. The word Jihad has been used in the Qur’an to mean spending one’s substance, fortune, and person in the path of God, to fight in defense of one’s faith and conscience.

On a comprehensive reading of Qur’anic verses in their proper context and with varying connotations of the word Jihad the scholars have categorized Jihad as (i) A spiritual struggle against one’s evil propensities, which has been described as Jehad bin naffas, (ii) Committing one’s effort and fortune for religious cause is termed as Jihad bil maal and (iii) Contending and arguing with good reason and in the light of Qur’an is termed as Jihad bil Qur’an. The last category termed as (iv) “Jihad bil saif”, or taking up arms, which is also known as Qital. This last category of Jihad has been placed by the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) at a much lower pedestal. On returning from an expedition, the Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said, “We have returned from a smaller Jihad to a bigger Jihad”, meaning returning from the armed conflict to a spiritual struggle of Jihad bin nafs. The Jihad of spiritual struggle, committing one’s resources to the noble cause, propagating faith by reason and argument and spreading the teachings of Qur’an are the kinds of Jihad which are obligatory for Muslims at all times and at all places. The last category of Jihad i.e. defensive war is obligatory only under certain preconditions and specific times only for those who are fit to take up arms.

Admissibility of this particular kind of Jihad—which is termed as Qitaal in the Holy Quran’s nomenclature—is contingent upon, and conditional with, the existence of a set of specific circumstances and particular conditions. Unfortunately, with the passage of time an erroneous interpretation of Jihad has found its way into the Muslim Ummah (Community), according to which Jihad consists of spreading the religion of Islam with sword. (Mehzarnama page 117—The memorandum Submitted By the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at to the National Assembly of Pakistan regarding its basic tenets. Published by Islam International Punlications Ltd. Raqeem Press Tilford Surrey.)

The Qur’anic verse that permitted Jihad bil saif, (taking up arms), is set forth in the following words:
Permission to fight is granted to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged and Allah indeed has the power to help them. They are those who have been driven out of their homes unjustly. (20:40-41).

With the passage of time the predominant aspect of Jihad of spiritual struggle, material efforts and propagation by reason was lost and the lesser Jihad by arms found its way. In that process Jihad assumed a political dimension and over a period of time it assumed the meaning of waging an all out war against all non believers at all times. The concept of Jihad was distorted. The founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at only corrected the distorted perception and placed the priorities of different aspects of Jihad in right order. Islam is a religion of peace. The very word means peace: peace with in and peace without. It means being at peace and giving peace to others. There is no room for coercion in religion. “There shall be no coercion in matters of faith” says Qur’an. Violence and the distorted perception of Jihad is in conflict with the Islamic principles. I would like to produce some quotations from elaborate treatises of authored by the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Community Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian on the subject.

The Holy founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Islam says,

“The Promised Messiah has come to this world to dispel the concept of drawing sword in the name of religion, and to firmly establish with his proofs and arguments that Islam is a religion which certainly does not need the help of sword for its propagation. Instead, it is the excellences inherent in its teachings, its verities and profound truths, its proofs and arguments, the fresh instances of God’s support and Divine signs, and its intrinsic magnetism are the factors which have always caused its advancement and propagation. So let it be known to all those who raise the objection that Islam was spread with the help of sword, that they are completely false in leveling this allegation. The efficacy of Islam’s teachings is not dependent upon any coercion. (Mirza Ghulam Ahmed—Malfoozaat, vol 3, p 176.)

“As Islam does not permit the sue of force or coercion for the purpose of its propagation, it is altogether vain and absurd to wait for a bloody Mahdi or a bloody Messiah; for it is not possible that anyone should appear who should convert people to Islam by the sword contrary to the teaching of the Quran”. (Mirza Ghulam Ahmed—Masih Hindustaan Mein, Roohaani Khazaa’in—vol 15 p 12.)

“Seek help and victory from God, the Exalted: beseeching Him with truth and so, first of all, you need to use your head and your heart and purify your souls, for this is the immutable law and an established principle of God. And if the Muslims have hopes of courting victory by mere vainglorious boasting, then it would be impossible. Allah, the Exalted, does not value empty boasts; He values genuine and righteously inspired fear of God.” (Mirza Ghulam Ahmed—Malfoozat Vol I New Edition page 39.)

“Know this for sure, that the need of the hour is indeed the pen, and not the sword. Our opponents have raised misgivings against Islam, and have tried to assail the true religion of Allah, the Exalted, by the use of various sciences and artifacts. This has persuaded me to don the armor of pen and enter the arena of science and advancement of knowledge, and provide miraculous evidence of the spiritual bravery and intrinsic power of Islam.” (Mirza Ghulam Ahmed—Malfoozaat, Vol 1, New Edition p 38.)

“In this age, Jihad has taken on a spiritual complexion. The Jihad of this age is simple to try peacefully contribute to the propagation of Islam, rebut the objections of the opponents and disseminate the excellences of Islam in the world. This is what Jihad consists of, until God may cause a different set of circumstances to prevail in the world” (Newspaper Al-Badr Qadian, 14 August, 1902 p 239 Colun3)

“Let me tell you explicitly that if, under these circumstances, anyone were to misuse the name of Islam to retaliate with militancy, then such a person will only bring disgrace to the fair name of Islam. Because Islam never intended to allow that swords be drawn for no reason and without just cause.” (Mirza Ghulam Ahmed— Malfoozat Vol I New Edition page 39.)

History has taken a full circle. After one hundred years of the admonishing, held out by the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, the world has come to realize that the distorted version of Jihad has done a great disservice to the cause of Islam. The post 9/11 world bears an eloquent testimony of how right the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at was when he corrected the distorted version of Jihad.

Can someone explain to readers how this happened ? I am taking a para from the interent :

“Before being overrun by Islam, the people of Malaysia and Indonesia were overwhelmingly Hindu and Buddhists. In fact what are today the ASEAN countries had one religion (a mix of Hinduism-Buddhism-Animism) and one culture till the 15th century. They did not look upon themselves as different countries. A large part of today’s Malaysia was a part of the kingdom of Siam (Thailand). And at times Malaysia and Indonesia were under the rule of one single dynasty (Sri Vijaya, Shailendra, Mataram and Majapahit).

The Bas Reliefs of Borobudur in Indonesia and words like Putrajaya (name of the new Malaysian Capital), Tan Sri (honorific title in Malaysia), Garuda (Indonesia’s national air carrier), and names like Megawati Sukarnoputri (Indonesia’s former President), Imam Samudra (the Bali Bomber), which have been derived from the ancient Indian (Sanskrit) language are the only reminders of the Buddhist and Hindu past of the current Muslim population of Malaysia and Indonesia. The clash of the gentle ancestors of the Malays and Indonesians with the violent Muslims is a clash of contrasts”.

    Hudson, Lorenzo
Every religion has its own root. Founders of each religion never taught hatred, because, God the Almighty sent them all to guide their followers into right path. The original teachings of each religion, if one follows those teachings really make them nearness to God, the Almighty. No doubt at all. When the Founders of Religion left the world, then only the followers also go astray, because, their religious books also corrupted. The original teachings disappeared. That’s why, the Holy Founders of each religion prophesize the advent of their successors and tell their followers to accept them. This is the way each religion has a link with one another.
We cannot imagine that Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace be on all of them) and all other Prophets might have taught to kill fellow human beings. If the original teachings are intact, then why man kills man? No sacred books ever taught injustice. Teachings are based according to the condition of the man at that time. That’s why, no Holy Book except the Holy Qur’an claimed that their teachings are for all the time and for all. This Holy Book was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as guidance for mankind, because the Holy Prophet was sent as a Mercy for all mankind – A Universal Prophet. A merciful man could not be blamed that he had used the sword to spread his own religion – Islam. If this Prophet (PBUH) had such a tendency – such harshness – if his exemplary life creates disorder on earth, what was the necessity to foretell about his advent by his predecessors? His teachings are intact until dooms day. Similarly, the Holy Qur’an which was revealed to this Universal Prophet was also intact until the Day of Judgment.
Finally, if the followers of each religion go astray – kill each other – creating disorder on earth, we cannot blame the religion and its Founder.

  25. Leela Says:

I do not believe for a moment that Pope Benedict or Ritzinger’s and Franklin Graham’s speeches started Muslims vs. Christian-Jew conflict. It goes to the very beginning of Muhammadinism.

Muslims say Islam means peace. When Muhammad read there is NO God other than Allah, idols worshipping among Arabs was rampant. So set his unique type of peace upon other Arabs, he decided to wipeout all idols worshipping. Muhammad and 300 of his followers had their first fight at Badr to destroy idols.

And next to Koran all true Muslims have to follow Muhammad’s life example or sunnah. So, from then on the spread of Islam was by the sword, all the way.

Now I shall cut and paste a verse from Koran for Ahmed to read. Its 48:29 says “Mohammed is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another”

So, it is natural for true Muslims to hate anything that has the remotest resemblance of an idol. Remember! How Taliban tore down Bamian Buddha statues in Afghanistan at recent times.

With parallel motives, Muslims had destroyed the entire Buddhist and the Hindu idols to be found from Bactriana to Bengal in 1100 A.C. They flattened the famous Buddhist University Nalanda and great many temples in Buddhagaya to the ground during the next two centuries. Invaluable Buddhist scriptures embodied in the palm leaves were set on fire. With the forcible conversion of Buddhists to Islam, Bhikkhus fled to neighboring countries for good. And, Muslims managed to wipe out Buddhism from its birthplace, India.

Now, coming to the topic of in Ahmad’s words engineering behind creation, both Bibles and Koran says God had created everything from nothing. Sura 2:117 says; “Be! And it is”. That means creation was done instantaneously. But Sura 7:54, 10:3, 11:7, and 25:59 clearly illustrate how the job was done in six days. But if you add up the Job duration in Sura 41:9 to 41:12, the number of days for creation come to (8) eight. Muslims are very quiet about these contradictions too.

Modern Muslims with scientific background who like to be in line with new sciences and Hawkins in particular would like say Allah created the Universe real slow and accuse us for taking their Holy book out of context. They cite a good example. Koran’s Sura 70:4 says; “Unto Him (God) in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years”. But they have purposely forgotten that Koran also says in Sura 22:47 that “A day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon.” Moreover, Sura 32:5, “He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.”

If we accept the eight (8) days version, and they are as ‘God days’, and fifty thousand our years as a ‘God day’; then God must have taken just four hundred thousand years to complete his creation. (8 x 50,000 = 400,000). If we now add time since Adam to date, the Muslim Universe should be less than half a million years old. But Stephen Hawkins say, the Universe is around fifteen thousand million years old.

In several instances Buddha too was questioned about the extent of the Universe that we know of. And, some of those queries were similar to those that cosmologists probe today. Buddha’s approach for such predicament had been within the consciousness of his Dhamma.

It is rather exciting to study the manner in which Buddha evaded what is irrelevant to his Dhamma and inclined the questioners to wake up towards his Dhamma. And, to know that everything Buddha said at the time in answering those queries stand out even to date is remarkable. The question is whether same thing can be said about the God’s dictums that is said to have said by prophets of all knowing God that I have written in the preceding pages.

In Majjhima Nikaya, Cula-Malunkyovada Sutta, there had been two specific queries concerning the cosmos. A Novice monk named Malunkyaputta pledged himself, if Buddha answered his questions on universal matters, he would live the holy life under Buddha; or otherwise, he should be back a hedonist. Among his questions were; “Whether the cosmos is eternal, or not eternal; whether the cosmos is finite, or is infinite ….”

Buddha had first asked Ven. Malunkyaputta, whether Buddha had ever promised to answer such queries in order for the monk to live a holy life under him. Thereafter, Buddha offered an apt comparison: Buddha compared questioner to a man who is shot with an arrow, and the arrow inside his body demanding to know about the shooter; about the bow; about the string of the bow; whether it was aimed at him or an animal etc. before he is treated.

Thereafter, Buddha said; whatever the answer may, there still exist the birth, the aging, the death, the sorrow, the lamentation, the pain, the despair, the distress. Buddha said; “answers for such queries are undeclared by me, because they are not connected with the goal that are fundamental to the holy life. Neither are they connected to self-awakening.” In short, what Buddha said was that his Dhamma is to end the suffering.

In Anguttara Nikaya 77, Acintita Sutta, Buddha said; “There are four conjecturals that are not to be conjectured, because that would only bring madness & vexation to anyone who speculate about them.” Postulation about the origin etc. of the cosmos is an un-conjecturable that is not to be conjectured about. Perhaps Buddha said so because we cannot trace the beginning to the Universe. No doubt, this implies; the Buddha had categorically rejected the myth of the creator God.

  26. Lorenzo Says:

    Aziz,

    1. Thank you for the response. You sound like MOST Muslims I know – peaceful and collected. Unlike Ahmed, Farook or other commentators defending Islam here. They have shown by example they are violent characters DRAWING it from Islam!

    2. “(iv) “Jihad bil saif”, or taking up arms, which is also known as Qital. This last category of Jihad has been placed by the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) at a much lower pedestal. On returning from an expedition, the Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said, “We have returned from a smaller Jihad to a bigger Jihad”, meaning returning from the armed conflict to a spiritual struggle of Jihad bin nafs.”

But still why even have it as another Jihad? It is not good. It is about “armed conflict”.

I know the Old Testament of the Bible also talks of violence. But that was superseded by Jesus’s teachings. So there is a correction in Christianity. Unlike kings David and Solomon, Jesus didn’t go to war challenging the view at that time. Jesus NEVER shed blood. Not a drop. Never touched a weapon. Like Buddha. I can understand ancient Hindu and African religions having violent gods because they are of the ‘Old Testament’ time of human civilisation. Islam is even later than Buddhism and Christianity but contains a lot of violence.

The exact opposite happened with the Holy Prophet (PBUH). After his teachings the region became more violent. Most clashes in the region are between Muslims which others manipulate to rob oil, etc.

    3. Agree with the rest.

    4. There is still no explanation on:

The Hadith also says that Muslims could take the property of people they killed during a Jihad (there are different types of Jihad).

8, no. 796).

  27. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

IN MY VIEW, my sources are more reliable than your medieval sources!

  28. Lorenzo Says:

    Fran,

Not just Malaysia, Indonesia regions but also Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives regions were Hindu/Buddhist before Islamic fundamentalists attacked them.

India survived thanks mainly to the counter violent Sikh movement. SL survived thanks to our great warriors who made it unthinkable to invade here and get away or live here. So they followed a peaceful approach. Hope it will last forever because otherwise we have to do what we did to the JVP and LTTE – WIPE OUT.

It will be EASIER because no human rights issues and BOTH NATO and BRIC support such a move ANYTIME. Come to think of it, I think it is a good way to DEFLECT current misunderstandings, if you know what I mean. If SL pretends to face Islamic violence, west will drop war crimes BS and hug us, give us money and weapons.

  29. Fran Diaz Says:

    Lorenzo:
Thanks for clarifying. We can add Afghanistan to the list of downed countries. However, argument is useless with some folks –
best to take care of Lanka through the Law, so that all may live here in relative peace.

  30. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

    Thanks.

Hon Athulathmudali said, we will not hesitate to get help from any devvil to fight terrorism. I ditto that excluding the devil part. We will not hesitate to get help from NATO-BRIC to fight terrorism. The problem with them is they are selective. We can select them WHEN IT SUITS US. So be careful.

Shenali Waduge , Lorenzo and the great professor are not alone. Most SLs are with them and ALL superpowers are with them. I believe god is with them too. So we are the winning team you are the losing team. Thanks for agreeing. In future call me a winner and I call you a loser. Agree?

  31. Lorenzo Says:

    Ranjith,

A very popular post by the good professor. He hit the nail on its head. Keep them coming prof.

  32. Lorenzo Says:

    Fran,

    So the list goes,

    1. Malaysia
    2. Indonesia
    3. Pakistan
    4. Bangladesh
    5. Maldives
    6. Afghanistan.

But not everything is lost. Non-Muslims cleverely claimed parts of these. Good on them.
    1. Singapore (using Chinese and US influence on Malaysia)
    2. PNG (using Australian and US influence on the world’s largest Islamic country)
    3. East Timor (using Australian and US influence on the world’s largest Islamic country)

  33. Lorenzo Says:

    Ranjith,

    Good one!

But remove that “low life” crap. Give credit where credit is due even when you don’t agree.

e.g. I hate him but I give credit to Gadafi for doing good for his people inlcuding water, jobs, degrees, electricity, money for oil exports.

e.g. I gave you credit for a true comment.

  34. Lorenzo Says:

Hats off to Prof. Hudson McLean.

May he live long and prosper!
May he have more years to his life with every comment to his post!

  35. Voice123 Says:

    Lorenzo said:
“If SL pretends to face Islamic violence, west will drop war crimes BS and hug us, give us money and weapons.”

Wrong Lorenzo. I think you are suffering from the JR Jayerwardena disease! He went running to America in the certainty that the West would support SL militarily, diplomatically and financially against Indian (then in the communist sphere of influence) sponsored terror – if only Sri Lanka would do as they were told. How wrong was JRJ and we Sri Lankans paid for that mistake dearly in thousands of deaths and years of destruction and misery. Did the west care? No, they unleashed the “human rights” weapon and economic boycotts and travel advisories on us. They allowed terrorists to operate from their soil. Wake up man. I hate Muslim fundamentalism too but I also hate Christian, Buddhist and Hindu fundamentalism as well. They are all equally bad. Label it as you may but it is all intolerance and hatred. The West’s war on Islamists is not our war. We can choose to help them or not. That is our business – and where they are killing innocent western people, we ought to condemn it unreservedly. However those terrorists are not targetting us. One of these years, the west will patch up with the Muslim world for purely commercial reasons just like they did with India and Ill bet you would be eating your words. In Sri Lanka, Muslims are generally tolerant and generally get on with everyone else. We will never make the JRJ mistake again.

  36. Lorenzo Says:

    voice123,

Yes, I was wrong in that.

    Here is the correction.

If SL faces Islamic violence, west will drop war crimes BS and hug us, give us money and weapons.”

But of course there is some room for diplomatic play/exaggeration for SL’s benefit (if or when it is needed).

“One of these years, the west will patch up with the Muslim world for purely commercial reasons just like they did with India and Ill bet you would be eating your words.”

No. That will never happen. USA is already in Saudi, etc. peacefully but on their own terms. It is also in Iraq, Libya, etc. Western values and Islamic values are at loggerheads. This problem only increases with time. The issue with India was purely strategic due to India’s close relationship with the Soviet Union. Modern Indian values are VERY consistent with western values!! Also India is an ESSENTIAL pillar in war on Islamists. USA and China will definitely patch up but USA and MOST Islamic people, NO.

Yes, MOST Muslims in SL are peaceful. I said that many times. MOST Tamils in SL are also peaceful. MOST Muslims in Pakistan are also peaceful. MOST Muslims in Libya, Iraq, Iran are also peaceful.

Generally the west doesn’t care. The east doesn’t care either.
BUT there are times when the west cares. One such case (may be the ONLY one) is when a country is fighting Islamic violence.

Agree JRJ had his shortcomings especilly in the international arena. Agree ALL fundamentalists are bad. Of all fundamentalists, Islamic fundamentalism has posed the BIGGEST threat to humanity and to Buddhism/Hinduism/Judaism/Christianity.

For each problem, there is a tool. We should use the right one.
West is not the tool for LTTE terror but it is the tool for Islamic terror.

  37. Voice123 Says:

    Lorenzo,

I agree with some of what you say. However you dont seem to realise that the world is constantly changing.

“Modern Indian values are VERY consistent with western values!!”

This is because the middle classes and business interests now run India. 30 years ago it was the feudal class, Gandhis, Nehrus etc and the Hindu traditionalists who wanted self reliance and socialism. Back then they saw western consumerism as at loggerheads with Indian cultural and spiritual values.

“Western values and Islamic values are at loggerheads. This problem only increases with time. ”

There was a time when western values and Jewish values were at loggerheads. No more is this so. Nobody even remembers. Regarding Islam, the reason terrorism and fundamentalism seems to thrive in the Muslim world is because of poverty, autocracy and inequality. They may be related. A chief thrust of the west’s war on terrorism is to wean the general population away from religious fundamentalism and towards mass consumerism. The picture could be quite diffferent in 20 years time. Also, the West itself is changing. With the rise of China and India, western countries seem to be more inwardly focussed. They may even abandon consumerism. Its hard to predict the future.

Your analysis may be true at this point in time but social and political realities are constantly changing.

  39. abdulaziz Says:

    To all,
Islam is a Religion of Peace. The word Jihad has a deep meaning and not only connected with sword and arms. These days Muslims kill Muslims and non-Muslims too, I admit. For this, heinous act, as I mentioned earlier, you cannot blame Islam and its Holy Founder Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). In one of my comments, I said about the massacre committed by Christians, but, I say, we cannot blame the real teachings of Christianity and Jesus Christ (Peace be on him). This is what applies to all religions.
Really, it is sad to see the prevailing condition of Muslims in this age. Seeing this, non-Muslims have the right to throw bad remarks on Muslims, not to Islam. This is their ignorance these non-Muslims attack Islam and its Holy Founder 9PBUH). If this situation continues, how Islam will grow in its real sense? Islam does not support dictatorship. What we saw in Libya under regime of Col. Gadaffi? Is it correct? Might cannot be right. You all agree. If a ruler go beyond the limit in dictating its own people , God punish him. This is the scene we saw in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and nobody can escape from the punishment of God. We don’t know what will be the fate of other Rulers in so-called Islamic countries. God is there to clutch those who commit sins whether they are Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus or Buddhist and others. God punishes only to reform and be a lesson for the rest. Citizens kill fellow citizens. We see this in our own eyes. But, unfortunately, these crimes are being committed in the name of Islam. Thus, these murderers paint a bad picture on Islam.
These Islamic rulers do not give the equal rights to their citizens. There are religious discriminations in so-called Islamic States. Religious minorities are being persecuted, particularly in Islamic countries. Even in some non-Muslim countries too these happenings are there with the support of Muslim clergies and other Muslim Personals. When these things are happening, rest of the citizens closely watch and they are not in blind eyes. It is true; Islam is only in name at this age.
As the Holy Qur’an states (25:30), Muslims have discarded the Qur’an and have thrown it behind their backs. Perhaps never during the last 14 centuries Hijra, the Quran was so much neglected and ignored by the Muslims as it is today.
There is a saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to this effect. The prevailing decline of the Muslims and their internecine strife: are matters of which the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not uninformed. Through divine revelation, he prophesied fourteen hundred years ago that Muslim would split into sects. He described the pitiable plight of the Muslims in such detail as if a view of our era had been unfolded before his very eyes.
The Prophet’s traditions contain a graphic description of our times.
Hazrat Ali (R.A.) stated that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: “A time will come when nothing will remain of Islam except its name and nothing will remain of the Quran except its script. Mosques will be full of worshippers, but as far as righteousness is concerned they will be empty and deserted. Their ‘Ulama’ (religious scholars) will be the worst of creatures under the canopy of the heavens. Evil plots will originate from them and to them will they return.” (Mishkat – Vol. 1, Kithabul Ilm – 3rd part, Page: 121, Hadith No: 276 [79] )
However, along with these terrible portents, he also gave glorious tidings. He said that in spite of this dire distress the Islamic nation would not perish. As he also prophesied, the religion of Islam has to be restored to its former glory. How?
When the religious leaders/scholars become corrupt as foretold by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the above saying, God takes the leadership in his own hands. It is sad to point out here that today the so-called Islamic world does not have such universal leadership (IMAM) sent by God, as prophesied by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to reform and guide them.
Every other generation we find is a less pious generation, less God-fearing. Every other generation we find is less confident of a Islamic way of life.
Religions are born and revived through divinely appointed reformers. Never have the scholars ever reformed a religion through conferences and consultations. The reformers never advocate violence. Their followers demonstrate steadfastness of such a high degree that they would rather be exiled or killed than recant.
The reformers do not entice people with promises of power and high office; they dispel worldly ambition. They do not lure people with wealth; they inculcate the spirit of sacrifice.
The rich who believe consider it their good fortune to give their all in the services of God. It is then that divine providence adjudges them fit to take over temporal power. This is the process of religious revival of nations that the Holy Quran and the Scriptures reveal. I appeal to the seekers after truth to ponder over this and find out where it exists. This is the only solution for the Muslims to overcome from their trials and tribulations. For details, visit: http://www.alislam.org

  40. Devinda Fernando Says:

When Muslims become a Majority in a country then God help the Minorities of that country. Islam has brutally slaughtered and forcefully converted its way in History. Take India for example, where Muslim Armies from Persia (modern day Iran) pursued Zoroastrian princes into Asia after having violently conquered Persia itself… They then proceeded to slaughter 82 Million Hindus and destroyed thousands of Hindu temples, and to add insult to injury, they built Mosques on top of these destroyed Holy sites. This includes the Babri Mosque which was built on the ruins of the Rama Hindu Temple which was destroyed by Muslims.

Islam is not the Religion of Peace as we hear so often claimed, its not even a peaceful religion (Buddhism is a Religion of Peace, Jainism is a Religion of Peace, and most branches of Hinduism are Religions of Peace). Not Islam though. The Koran openly calls for and preaches hate and genocide towards non-Muslims. Muslims have Zero Tolerance for other religions, and openly practice discrimination against others. When they are in a Minority they practice Self-Isolation, but as soon as they become a Majority they practice bigotry, violence, intimidation and subjugation. The way Muslims viciously behave towards each other is simply a reflection of Islamic Societies are at their core.

These people have absolutely no clue what constitutes a “civilized society”.

  41. Leela Says:

    Ahmed:
If our references to Koran verses, and writing about Sunnah and Hadith are fallacious you should say so straight without accusing us for reading them improperly and partially. You should have understood that we can write only several paragraphs here and no more. So, we have to write to the point and high light essential Koran verses to establish what we aim to prove.

You are coming up with “Why this sinister “hate-Muslim” campaign now?” and accuse us for ‘cut and paste’ and ‘writing out of context etc’ is evading our direct allegations. You should put us in the right perspective by answering our allegations directly rather than throwing a blanket to cover them.

Now, few egalitarian readings Muhammed made saftermath does not invalidate those hoards of hate he read earlier unless he attributed all such reading to Satan. Do you know that Muhammad had done a similar withdrawal in 616 when he became unpopular with his own tribe, Korayshites among others? Muhammad had recognized three Meccan idols, Lat, Ozza and Manah, as intercessors with Allah to purchase public support. When things got better, Muhammad became ashamed of his weakness and the reconciliatory verses were struck out of the Koran and the weakness was attributed to the devil. Read Sura 22:52 and 53, you will understand what I mean.

Likewise, Muhammad should have attributed all the hate and violent verses in his Koran to Satan and withdrawn them had he wanted true peace with others. But he chose to retain all those nasty verses in the Koran. A devout Muslim like Dr. Naik of peace TV would have read them hundreds of thousands of times. Others would have prayed and promised God to abide by Koran more than (365x65x5 =) 118,625 times throughout their adult life. Needless to say people would become mere robots.

You got me wrong Mr.Ahmad; I only said I was an avid reader of contemporary religions. I never said I am a learned of Islam. So, what could I say about your seven or seventh heaven; I only know that Koran reserves a place in the heaven for those who die fighting for Allah. Description in Sura 55:48-58 and 55: 62-76 is for those who love girls and 56:15-24 boys.

Neither do I believe, the God or Allah had created the universe on the first day and the man and woman in the sixth day some few thousand years ago as Torah says, nor was it a singularity exploded with a big bang fifteen billion years earlier as Hawkins says in ‘A Brief History of Time’.

Professor Hawkins’s inclination to a starting point is evident from the time he made theological conclusion to his cosmological speculations. “If the universe had no beginning, there is nothing whatsoever for God to do – except to choose the laws of physics. Physics, were it to discover a unified theory, will allow us to know the mind of God.” Those are Hawkins’s words. Going further, Carl Sagan, in his introduction to that most famous book of all, has not been afraid to draw theological conclusions. “This is also a book about God … or perhaps about the absence of God.” Likewise, those pages are filled with the word ‘God’. Indirectly it says the god had done something.

What happened before the big bang? The big bang theorists can’t answer. They say it’s a meaningless question. Astronomer Tom Van Flandern had listed at least 30 clear problems against the Big Bang theory. In short, what Flandern pointed out was that the theory has been constantly undergoing ad hoc adjustments in order to accommodate new and unexpected discoveries to the Big bang.

Another critic William C. Mitchell in his book ‘Bye Bye Big Bang Hello Reality’ says; astronomical observations support that our galaxy takes 1/4 billion years to go around just one circle. On that basis, if the Big Bang had occurred say 10 billion years ago, our galaxy would have turned only 40 rotations around itself. These number of rotations are much less if the turnings started at a lower rate. He says; 40 rotations are hardly adequate to form two spirals. He further says that these comments apply to other spiral galaxies as well as our own.

Plasma physicist Wal Thornhill puts it more bluntly. He says, ‘Forget the glossy astronomy books and magazines – the Big Bang is pure fiction’. He has suggested that the observable universe may actually be trillions of years old. He describes a scenario in which the current cycle of evolution began over 3 trillion years ago. Stirred first in to life of primordial homogeneous hydrogen plasma, and then differentiated and agglomerated into astronomical structures.

This figure of trillions of years begins to approach the vast time periods suggested in Theosophy too. As you probably aware, Theosophy is a philosophy that aims at direct intuitive knowledge of ‘Gods’. Remember, the American national, Col. Alcott who became a Buddhist in Sri Lanka in the late nineteenth century! He and his assistant, Madam Blavesky are great theosophists. According to theosophy, the current major cycle of evolution – of which our own solar system forms a part – has been in progress for over 155 trillion years. During this period, they say that there have been many planetary and solar re embodiments.

Somehow, scientists observe Galaxies in clusters, and clusters in strings of clusters or super clusters, and that form a web that extends in every direction of the Universe. The numbers are past reaching out any infinity we might be able to imagine. Between these super clusters, are vast tracts of ’empty’ space, probably adrift with non-radiant flotsam and jetsam, and organic building blocks as Chandra Wickramasinghe and Nobel laureate Fred Hoyle says in their book. Of the observed 100’s of millions of galaxies with each galaxy having 100’s of millions of suns and solar systems, Wickramasinghe & Hoyle says there could be many identical suns to our own. Just think of the infinite variety of civilizations that have risen and fallen throughout the endless reaches of space/time.

That is why Buddha said postulation about the origin etc. of the cosmos is an un-conjecturable that is not to be conjectured about. It only brings about vexation.

  43. radha Says:

Jimmy, congratulations to you for your valiant stand against all the brick bats that were thrown at you; I take my hat off for you and go along with your views. I too consider it to be the most sensible approach to living with people from other creeds as your friends and neighbours, and in some cases relatives. Love thy neighbour ought to be the motto, irrespective of what faith or ethnic group the neighbour belongs to.

Sri Lanka has been one country where different ethnic groups and creeds lived side by side without large scale attacks, that is until recent times when politicians abused their position to gain control by creating fear between ethnic groups and creeds. Muslims are the subject of the original write up. One Buddhist/ Muslim clash that has been recorded in Sri Lankan history was the one in 1915, and since then the nation has survived almost 100-years without communal violence between Muslims and others, except what Prabhakaran initiated. I cannot ever recall reading in Mahavansa any other historical clashes between Muslims and Sinhala. Even if there had been any, they could not have been significant enough to take the historians’ attention.

I often cite to my friends, Sri Lanka, as one example where Muslims are a no trouble to the rest of the community, as we co-exist well. Into this scenario, it is wrong to bring in a fire from outside, as to what Muslims do elsewhere. The basic reason for Muslims killing each other in Middle-East in recent times is because the enemies in western countries are manipulating those people, based on their common self-destructive emotions: greed, anger and ignorant based one-upmanship. Western countries have done this trick everywhere, if we read the history and note how Western Empires were spread through Asia and Africa. Sinhala Buddhists and Indian Hindus too fell to this trick and betrayed their own kinds to foreigners. When it comes to personal greed, everyone forgets their faiths, yet a moment later they were the first ones to run to the faith for a prayer of thanksgiving.

Just because Muslims in Middle East, Afghanistan or in India are having problems with their neighbours or between themselves, there is no need to project all that into a Sri Lankan scenario, and create an unnecessary rift here. Probably it was not the intention, but sadly, with a mixed Sri Lankan readership of this website, the fuse has been lit unintentionally with a devastating effect, as we can judge from the series of blogs posted.

Certainly to my experience, Muslims in Sri Lanka do not push their beliefs down other people’s throats, unless challenged. Some of the evangelical churches from America do that more. Given that, there is no need to single out Islam to be denigrated. To have a go at Islam amongst a readership that usually has no war of faiths is like throwing a stone at a hornets’ nest. It brings the very animal instincts of humans such as fear and anger by trying to make the followers of one faith or another small, not worthy of association etc.

There is no point of throwing words or quoting passages to convince others if one religion or other is the superior. It does not work like that, because few lines in a forum are not going to sway the believers of their own faiths. Most people follow a faith because they inherited it from their parents and so protect this inheritance like their blood, own kind, inherited property etc and would fight for it, sometimes to their death. Therefore it is futile to tell others that their faith is bad or wrong or second rate.

As I understand various major religions, there is really nothing wrong with their core teachings and principles. They all talk about a formula for a peaceful living, either material or spiritual. The problem lies with the politicians and the clergy who use the religion and interpret it to promote their agendas for controlling people and revenues. Therefore I don’t mind you, the readers, having a go at the unscrupulous politicians and clergy who preach faith but conduct their own conflicting agendas, but please do not harm or throw insult at the religions.

Also let us learn to let our neighbours practice their own faiths in their own temple, church, mandhir or mosque in their own way, provided that they don’t spill it over to other people’s lives when not invited. Leave them alone with their faiths, and find their own peace from the pain and suffering of living that is common to all of us.

I have a simple question to ask of Ahmed and Abdulaziz. Why is it that while Muslims who go to non Muslim countries want to establish mosques and places of Muslim worship in those countries , not permit people of other religions to establish places of worship in Muslim countries? In Saudi Arabia, for isntance, they will not even allow a Christian to bring in a Bible for his own personal use. And right now, the Christians in the Middle East are going through a very hard time. Where is the tolerance?

“Your analysis may be true at this point in time but social and political realities are constantly changing.”

Yes. I know. It is correct as at now and it will not be correct in another few hundred years.

I’m open to change, but there are directions of change. Western values (and now eastern values too) move towards freedom, individuality, tolerance of homosexuality but not polygamy, higher levels of democracy, multi religious/multi ethnic societies, etc. Islam is moving backwards as far as western AND EASTERN values are concerned.

  46. Lorenzo Says:

    Aziz,

With all due respect, Islam is NOT a religion of peace. Please don’t make fun of it. It is OBVIOUS Islam is a religion of violence, INTOLERANCE and war. I have given enough examples from Islamic texts. Add to that the daily occurances around the world. I have 0% doubt in my mind that Islam is a religion of violence. However, Muslims as a whole are not violent as such. As a number of world leaders noted, the problem is NOT Muslims but Islam. Most Muslims are peaceful because they don’t strictly live by Islam. That is what we should promote for world peace.

  47. Muhammad FS Says:

    Lets be frank here.

Muslims are killing each other and Islam is a violent religion in the perception of outsiders. These are facts. We can see that around the world. But is it only Muslims and Islam?

Who is worse – Bush/Obama or OBL? Hiltler or OBL?

Muslims may have killed a million Muslims but Christians have killed hundreds of millions in world war one and world war two. Please ask yourselves who is worse?

I have great respect for Hudson and Lorenzo. Both fantastic fighters for what is right in their belief. I invite them to look at this reality. Who is worse – Bush/Obama or OBL? Hiltler or OBL?

You know the answer. So stop pointing the finger at Muslims.

Most Muslims in Sri Lanka support a unitary Sri Lanka. I will kill to defend unitary Sri Lanka and die if need be. We are with Sri Lanka as it is. We don’t create trouble. Lets keep outside trouble outside and not bring them to our great motherland. We don’t bring Arabic violence and you don’t bring American violence. Ok? Problem solved. I don’t think there is the need to argue any further because we all can agree with this.

  48. Rohan8 Says:

Sir, I normally agree with you on many issues. However regarding Libya. The rebels are foreign backed ie. the west,Nato etc. Al Qaida was a CIA/MI6/Mossad creation. It is a fact that there is known links between the western intelligence agencies and Al Qaida. There is mounting evidence that the so called Libyan rebels were in fact foreign fighters Al Qaida to be precise shipped in by NATO to destabilize Maunmer Gadaffi. I think you will recall the sheer barbarity of Al Qaida in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last decade. These barbarians are the ones who were funneled into Libya by the west. They have committed many atrocities against innocent people in Libya. The west brought death and destruction to Libyans. Libyans were doing very well under Gadaffi. The Brutal slaying of Gadaffi was probably carried out, by western backed ie. CIA, MI6, French Intel and Mossad, Al Qaida. Thats right the Libyan opposition was created by Mossad and western intelligence agencies. Meanwhile Palestinian Muslims are under a inhuman Israeli occupation. In my opinion it is the God fearing Muslims who are standing up to western evil. You have to ask how much suffering Israel and the west(US,UK, France other European and western countries) has inflicted on innocent muslim civilians in Palestine,Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan and other places in the Arab and Muslim world in the last 10 years. It is indeed a tragedy. Therefore as you are a highly intelligent and highly educated Brit, I would have expected you to properly research of whats truly been going on in the world and to find out the truth. Since you are well acquainted with Sri Lanka you know the West has been lying left, right and centre regarding Sri Lanka. Similarly they tell lies about Palestine and the rest of the Arab and Muslim world. So all I ask is for you being a very learned Brit, to do your own research on whats really going on in the world. Not colour your view of the world from the western propaganda that people in the west ingest on a daily basis through media, education and Hollywood film etc, without finding out whats really going on. Sri Lankans having been the victims of 500 years of western colonialism. So they know the truth regarding how the western governments operate very well. That is why you got so many negative comments from Sri Lankans. Sri Lankans unlike people in the west. Even people as highly intelligent and learned as you are not easily fooled.

  49. abdulaziz Says:

    To Cassandra

What you say is correct. Muslims establish place of worship in non-Muslim countries according to the law of the land. But so-called Muslim Countries like Saudi Arabia etc, in reality, they do not give due rights to their fellow citizens. Blame cannot be put on Islam which never taught this type of ruling. Even you cannot find a single example in the life of Prophet of Islam that he did like this. So, the present day problems you see in so-called Muslim countries, if they contradict to the teachings of Islam, it means they do not follow the teachings of Islam and the practice of Holy Prophet (PBUH). According to the prophecy of Prophet of Islam (PBUH), majority of Muslims will not follow the practice of Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and they are proclaimed as hell-bounded. This is the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):-
Abdullah bin Amar (r.a.) relates that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:
‘Surely things will happen to my people as happened earlier to the Israelites. They will resemble each other like one shoe in a pair resembles the other – to the extent that if anyone among the Israelites had openly committed adultery with his mother, there will be some whou would do this in mu Ummah (people) as well. Verily, the Israelites were divided into 72 sects, but my people will be divided into 73 sects. All of them will be in the Fire except one’. The Companions asked, ‘Who are they, O, Messenger of Allah?’ The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: ‘They are the people who will practice and that of my companions’. (Tirmidhi)
The above sayings of Prophet (PBUH) give another clear indication of the pity condition of Muslims (not Islam) in this age (in the later days). But the solution of this problem has also been mentioned by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) about which I gave a clue in my previous comment.
Now this is the time for me to elaborate on this key issue.
Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared that after him would come the Promised Messiah. Among his tasks was the revival of Islam and the unification of all religions.
Indeed like the Muslims, the followers of all great religions too Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and others anxiously awaited the advent of the Promised Reformer as predicted in their scriptures. The conditions were ripe for the Promised Reformer to appear.
Friends, please take note that as foretold, this advent of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi and indeed of the Promised Reformer of all religions has already taken place in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908 ) of Qadian, a remote village in the north of India. Under Divine Command, in fulfillment of the prophecy about the Promised Reformer, he laid the foundation on 23rd of March, 1889 of what today is the worldwide and dynamic Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Islam.
In the year 1889 in a small, dusty Indian town in Punjab, some 90 miles from Lahore, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, accepted a covenant of allegiance from his first followers. That first initiation ceremony took place in Ludhiana (Punjab) on March 23rd, 1889, as commanded by God. By taking the Bai’at or the oath of allegiance, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad laid the foundation of this Community (Jama’at).
Before accepting any Bai’at, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad announced, on January 12, 1889, the ten conditions of initiation into the Jama’at. A newcomer to the Jama’at was asked and is being asked to abide by the following conditions:
    1. To abstain from shirk or setting up partners with God till the day of his death.
    2. To keep away from falsehood, adultery, cruelty, dishonesty, riot, rebellion and every kind of evil.
    3. To offer the five Daily Prayers and also the tahajjud Prayer (pre – dawn supererogatory prayers) if able to do so.
    4. Not to harm God’s creatures in general and Muslims in particular, by one’s actions or by words.
    5. To stay faithful to God in sorrow or pleasure, prosperity or adversity, happiness or misfortune.
    6. Not to follow vulgar customs, to abstain from evil inclinations, to submit to the authority of the Holy Quran and to make the sayings of God and His Messenger the guiding principles of one’s life.
    7. To completely discard pride and haughtiness and to pass one’s days with humility, lowliness, courtesy and meekness.
    8. To consider the religion, the honour of religion and the well-being of Islam dearer than one’s life, wealth, honour and children.

    9. To show sympathy God’s creatures and to use one’s natural talents for their welfare.
    10. To establish a brotherhood with Mirza Ghulam Ahmad on condition of obeying him in everything good, till the day of one’s death.

The swearing of the first covenant did not mean a break with other Muslims or confrontation with the Christian church. But a year later Mirza Ghulam Ahmad proclaimed that he was the Promised Messiah and so the Apostle of God for all people and for all religions. Ahmad also proclaimed that God had revealed to him that Jesus did not die on the cross. He had died a natural death in India many years later. It was a total repudiation of the beliefs of the Christian church and of nearly all of Islam.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad declared that God had revealed to him that Jesus, aware that he could no longer continue his ministrations in Galilee, had journeyed to India in search of the lost tribes of Israel. There he had lived a long and honorable life. He had died a natural death and his grave in Kashmir was known and honored as that of the Prophet Yuz Asaph which translates as Jesus The Gatherer.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was born on February 13th, 1835, the second son of Mirza Ghulam Murtaza. He was a twin, but his sister died a few days after their birth. It was the time forecast by tradition for the coming of the Promised Messiah. There was general agreement among Muslims that ‘The Mahdi’, which translates in English as “The Guided One”, would appear at the beginning of the 14th century of the Hijra, which corresponds roughly to the last decade of the 19th century of the Christian calendar. Jesus had also indicated that the time of second coming would be signaled by wars, epidemics and general tribulations. The First World War, the Spanish flue epidemic which killed millions fulfilled these conditions. And among many Christian denominations it was believed that the late 19th or early 20th century was the period when Jesus would come again to the world.
These beliefs were based upon a variety of indications contained in prophecies mentioned in the sacred writings of Islam and Christianity. Muhammad, The Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) had also said very clearly how The Promised Messiah would be identified.
As his advent had been prophesied in the principal faiths of the world, would there be a guided teacher for each faith and would their messages and functions be identical?
If the messages were identical then only one teacher would be needed. If the messages were different, then the arrival of so many religious teachers would not promote unity, peace, accord and spiritual fulfillment, but instead would foster hostility, discord, enmity and chaos.
If each of these teachers arrived within the dispensation of their own faiths , would they uphold the values of that faith as originally defined? If they departed from them what would be the scope of their doctrines and teachings?
Either contingency would raise problems that would be difficult to solve.
Mankind has been constantly pressing forward to a unity of aim and purpose. All the developments that have taken place, say religious leaders, indicate that God’s hand would therefore fall on one single person, not a number of people in different faiths.
Hazrat Ahmad maintained that all the prophecies regarding the advent of various reformers were no doubt true. They however, in fact implied that only a single claimant would be raised, who would have in his person the qualities, role and spiritual powers of all the great world reformers. Further he said that the Promised Reformer was to appear not an independent capacity but only as a subordinate to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He added that he himself was nothing and claimed no merit. What Almighty God had bestowed on him in his Grace was in consequence of his utter devotion and obedience to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was thus a perfect spiritual reflection of Muhammad (PBUH).
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a prophet. But he was not a law-giving prophet, he emphasized Muhammad had been the last law-giving prophet.
The Revelation by God to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad that he was to wage a holy war of words to convert the world to Islam was all embracing. In that revelation God had told him that his followers were the chosen people. They would excel in every way every other person in the world.
    This was the Revelation:
“God desires to found a community of the faithful to manifest His Glory and Power. He will make the Community grow and prosper to establish the love of God, righteousness, purity, piety, peace and goodwill among men. This shall be a group of persons devoted to God. He shall strengthen them with His own spirit and bless and purify them”.
The Revelation also revealed to Ahmad that his community would flourish. God had promised, he said, that the Community would “multiply exceedingly”.
‘Thousands of truthful people shall join his ranks. He shall himself look after them and make the community grow, so much so that its members and progress shall amaze the world”.
God had promised him that his mission would be successful, he declared. God had told him, “I will carry thy message to the ends of the world”. It was an astonishing statement from a man whose followers at that time did not even number fifty. Yet he was not unknown. His writings had attracted attention throughout the world. “Very profound and very true”, the Russian philosopher Count Leo Tolstoy wrote of one of his books.
Today the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Islam is considered the most potent religious force in the world. People from all over the globe are flocking to join the fold in ever increasing numbers. The first forty followers have become more than 220 million, spreading in 200 countries including Sri Lanka. It is a mathematical increase in 122 years unequaled since the rise of Islam.
Among his followers are, a Nobel prizewinner (Dr. Abdul Salam), a former president of the General Assembly of the United Nations (Sir. Zafarullah Khan), Kings, Government Ministers, Army and Air Force Generals, Doctors, Scientists and millions and millions of ordinary people from countries as diverse as Indonesia, the United States, Poland, China and Spain.
After the demise of its founder in 1908, a system of Caliphate (Khilafat) was instituted in this Jama’at which is similar to the Pious Caliphate that followed the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In this system of Caliphate (Khilafat), some select members of the community elect a Caliph by majority vote. The Caliph (Khalifah) is the religious head of the community and directs all affairs of the community in complete accordance with Islamic principles. The Caliph usually asks for a Bai’at (oath of allegiance) from the community members to re-affirm their allegiance to him and to the cause of Islam. The present Head Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad is the fifth successor (Khalifah) of the Promised Messiah.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes in all the prophets and religious teachers appointed by God, including Muhammad, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Krishna and Buddha. It regards them all as heavenly teachers sent to reform humanity and to establish its communion with God – the Creator. Therefore, it seeks to establish peace between all religions by testifying to the truth of the original teachings of various faiths.
The Community established by Hazrat Ahmad is an embodiment of the benevolent message of all world religions – peace, universal brotherhood and submission to the Divine injunctions and commandments. It encourages interfaith dialogue and diligently seeks to remove misunderstandings between all faiths. It advocates peace, mutual respect, love and understanding among the followers of various faiths.
It firmly believes that there must not be any compulsion in matters of religion. It strongly rejects violence and terrorism in any form and under any pretext.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is an embodiment of the true Islam. It seeks to unite mankind with its Creator and to establish peace at both individual and collective levels. For details: adampakch@gmail.com

What utter rubbish! The Koran is chock full of verses that encourage and mandate the very practices seen in Islamic Theocracies like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Quran-8:39, And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere (in this earth of Allah).

Quran-9:29, Fight those who believe neither in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth (Islam), even if they are of the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Quran-3:85, “If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).”

Quran-9:39, Unless ye go forth, (for Jihad) He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. [Allah’s hatred to those who are reluctant to join Islamic jihad]

Quran-9:73, O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

Again if you tell them that Jesus, son of Mary died, is it O.K? They will utter the same reply and give Fatwa (verdict) that you are all Kafir (non-believers). That’s why, Holy Prophet of Islam said about the present day Ulemas (religious scholars) that will be the worst creatures under the canopy of heaven. Holy Qur’an says:-

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion. (Holy Qur’an: 5;4)

By presenting this verse of the Holy Qur’ān, non-Ahmadi Muslim scholars try to prove that as a religion, Islam has been perfected or completed, and the completion of favor means that Prophethood has now come to an end. This argument is proven false by the following verse in Surah Yusuf: ‘And thus, as thou hast seen, thy Lord shall choose thee and teach thee the interpretations of things divine and perfect His favour upon thee and upon the family of Jacob as He perfected it upon thy two forefathers – Abraham and Isaac. Verily, thy Lord is All-Knowing, Wise.’ (Holy Qur’an: 12;7)

If the meaning of the ‘completion of the favor’ is taken to mean that Prophethood has come to an end, this verse of the Qur’ān would mean that Prophethood was given to the Prophets mentioned in this verse again and again, and brought to an end again and again. However, even in this case we can prove that if Prophethood can come to an end and then re-start again and again, why can it not re-start after the Holy Prophet (PBUH)?

Can a Book grant guidance on its own?

Some people raise the point that in the presence of a perfect book like the Holy Qur’ān, there is no need for a prophet or spiritual guide, and now we can fulfill all of our requirements from this book alone. However, contrary to this notion, the Holy Qur’ān states that a book and a teacher are two closely intertwined elements.
Alif Lam Ra. This is a Book which We have revealed to thee that thou mayest bring mankind out of the depths of darkness into light, by the command of their Lord, to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy – (Holy Qur’an: 14;2)

The status of a prophet in the eyes of those who claim that guidance can be achieved merely by reading a book is nothing more than that of a mail-man, whose job is merely to convey the book. The infidels of Makkā sought something quite the equal when they demanded that he may go to the heavens and bring them a book, which they can read. ‘Or, thou have a house of gold or thou ascend up into heaven; and we will not believe in thy ascension until thou send down to us a Book that we can read.’ – (Holy Qur’an: 17;94)

The word ‘naqra’u’ is worthy of special attention in this verse, which means, ‘we read’. As a matter of fact, the Makkans asked the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to simply give them a book and they shall read and understand it themselves, and that he should not teach it to them, nor impart to them wisdoms hidden therein. Contrary to this demand, Allāh states that the function of a prophet is not merely to convey the message, but also its ‘tilawat’, or recitation, the expounding of its teachings and wisdom, as well as to purify the souls of the people. Therefore, along with a book, the requirement of a divine teacher cannot be disregarded.

He it is Who has raised among the unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and Wisdom though before that they were in manifest error; – (Holy Qur’an: 62;3)

Even in our daily lives we commonly witness that by merely reading the books of professional fields such as medicine, engineering, law, computer science, etc., one cannot become an expert in that respective field. Quite the contrary, he is required to learn from a proper teacher in that faculty of study, who not only explains difficult aspects of the textbook, but through his long experience, also teaches his students such beneficial things as are not mentioned in textbooks, which can only be acquired through deep study and experience in that field. If such is the case in worldly knowledge, then how can one acquire spiritual and divine knowledge without the presence of a teacher?

Does a Perfect Religious Law Necessitate The End Of Prophethood?

A common misconception spread by non-Ahmadi Muslim scholars is that, as Islamic Law is complete and the Holy Qur’an is the last Divine Book, therefore there is no more need for a Prophet to come. As if Prophethood and Sharia are two closely intertwined elements, and Islamic Law being complete, therefore there is no more need for a Prophet. However, having a complete law is in no way a barrier for the coming of Prophets. The Torah was sent by Allāh as a complete guidance for the Children for Israel. Despite this fact many prophets were sent to them after it.
Moreover, We gave Moses the Book – completing the favour upon him who did good, and an explanation of all necessary things, and a guidance and a mercy – that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.– (Holy Qur’an: 6; 155)

Does Every Prophet Bring A Law?

The scholars who reject the idea of coming of a prophet, while a complete and perfect law is present, themselves also hold the view that Jesus (peace be on him) will return and will be a follower of Islamic Sharia. They also know full well that it is not necessary for every prophet to bring a new law.
These scholars have deliberately spread this notion among the Muslims in order to prevent them from accepting the claim of The Promised Messiah and Imam-al-Mahdi whose advent has been fulfilled in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, in accordance with the prophesies of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Holy Qur’an states very clearly that some Prophets were sent by Allāh with Laws, some without and many of them were followers of previous Shariahs.

These messengers have We exalted some of them above others; among them there are those to whom Allah spoke; and some of them He exalted in degrees of rank. – (Holy Qur’an: 2;254)

Surely, We sent down the Torah wherein was guidance and light. By it did the Prophets, who were obedient to US, judge for the Jews, – (Holy Qur’an: 5;54)

Discussion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with Musailmah and Ibn Sayyad

When these two claimants of Prophethood inquired of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) whether or not he believed in them as true Prophets, he did not respond by saying that he is the last Prophet, how can they be prophets? Rather he said, “I believe in all Prophets of Allah.”

“If He Lived He Would Have Been A Prophet”

At the death of the Ibrahīm ra, son of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), he said, “If he had lived he would have been a prophet.” If the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was the last prophet in every sense of the word, and considered himself as such then he could never have uttered these words.

There are several verses in the Holy Qur’an that support the view the door of Prophethood not shut. For example: (22:75), (7:35), (3:179), (16:2), (4:70), (62:2,3), (33:40).

Also, according to the Holy Qur’an, Jesus, Son of Mary (Isa –alaihissaloam) had died before the advent of Holy Prophet of Islam (Sal). There are several verses that support this undeniable truth. For example: (3:55), (3:144), (5:75,116,117), (7:25), (16:20,21,70), (19:31), (21:34), (23:50), (25:20), (61:6).

The verse ‘Ahmad’ has been mentioned in one place in the Holy Qur’an (Ch:61, verse 6 – 7) and this particular verse goes on to say that when this ‘Ahmad’ will appear with clear proof and signs, those who reject him will invite him to Islam. Even the word applies to Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sal), nobody invited him to Islam, whereas, Promised Messiah and Mahdi Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his Community is declared as Kafir –disbelievers – out of pale of Islam and are invited to Islam. Moreover, the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has also been called ‘Ahmad’ in Divine revelation and because also in his person the Second Manifestation or Second Advent of the Holy Prophet took place.

From the Traditions of the Holy Prophet it is evident that the Promised Messiah was to be a follower of the Holy Prophet. One Tradition tells us that ‘the Mahdi is no other than the Messiah’ [Ibn-e-Maja]
    Another Tradition says:
‘How would it be with you when the son of Mary will descend among you and you will have a leader raised from among you?” [bukhari, kitabul-anbiya, chapter nuzul isa bin maryam]

“What will be your condition when the son of Mary will descend among you and he will be your Imam from among yourselves.” (Bukhari, Kitabul Anbiya, Bab Nazool Isa)

These Traditions leave no doubt that the Messiah himself will be the Mahdi. He would lead followers of the Holy Prophet and would be one from among them, not an outsider. To think that the Messiah and the Mahdi are two different persons is wrong. It is against the clear indication in the Tradition: ‘The Mahdi is no other than the Messiah.’ It behoves good believers to ponder carefully over the utterances of the Holy Prophet. If the utterances seem contradictory, it is for us to try and resolve the contradictions. If the Holy Prophet said, on the one hand, that the Mahdi will appear before the Messiah, and the Messiah will then join the Mahdi and his followers in worship; and, on the other, that the Messiah himself is the Mahdi, what are we going to do? Accept one utterance and reject the other? Is it not rather our duty to consider the two utterances carefully and try to reconcile one to the other? The two utterances can be reconciled at once if we use one of them to interpret the other. It seems that the promise of the advent of the Messiah was couched in words which suggested that the Messiah and the Mahdi were two different persons. This suggestion is corrected by the Tradition which says ‘No Mahdi but the Messiah’ This Tradition makes it plain that the other Tradition is metaphorical. It means that a follower of the Holy Prophet will arise for the purpose of revivifying the world, but would not have that rank of a prophet. He will be the subordinate prophet of Holy Prophet of Islam. He will not bring a new Sharia and he will follow the same Sharia which the Holy Prophet braught. Then the promise relating to the second coming of Jesus will be fulfilled in his person and he will announce himself the Promised Messiah. The Tradition, therefore, tells us that the Promised One will start his career as a Muslim reformer who will become invested with the office of Messiah. Divine prophecies have to employ metaphors. They would convey very little otherwise.

Holy Prophet (PBUH) also said in a Hadith that the Promised Messiah (latter-day Isa Ibnu Maryam) will be a Prophet of Allah (Nabiullah). In ( SAHEEH MUSLIM , Vol – 02 ,
CHAPTER : ZIKR – UD – DAJJAAL ) the word ‘Nabiullah has been mentioned four times referring to Isa Ibnu Maryam. Then tell me how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sal) will be the last Prophet?

Finally, no one has the right to decide who is Muslim and who is not. Even the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) did not give such a verdict. It is God only to decide.
There is no need to invite Ahmadi Muslims to mainstream Islam, because, the Prophet of Islam (sal) already prophesized that when Muslims will divide into sects in the later days, the majority will go to Hell.

  53. abdulaziz Says:

    To Ahmed,
    Holy Prophet of Islam said:

Thank you, abdulaziz for your response (November 1st) and for the additional material on the “Promised Messiah”in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – all of which is new to me – which I have read with interest.

You state that the intolerance towards the practice of other religions shown by some Muslim countries is indeed contrary to the teachings of the Prophet, and I note the point you make. In practice, of course, it is difficult for people to consider a religion divorced from the conduct of those who profess it. It is not only the song that matters; the singer also counts. After all, you can only hear the song in the WAY in which it is sung.

    Peace be with you, brother.

  58. Lorenzo Says:

    This is extremely disgusting.

“Abdullah bin Amar (r.a.) relates that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:
‘Surely things will happen to my people as happened earlier to the Israelites. They will resemble each other like one shoe in a pair resembles the other – to the extent that if anyone among the Israelites had openly committed adultery with his mother, there will be some whou would do this in mu Ummah (people) as well.”

I pity the religious leader who speak such dirt and disgust especially dragging another community.

The same could have been said in civilised language. But the speaker had chosen dirty and filth instead.

Jesus, Buddha, Confusius and Hindu teachers never used such terms.

With every explanation it becomes more and more clearer that this is not right.

  59. Ibnu Ahmad Says:

    To all.

Many commentators blame Islam as it encourages violence. They also blame Muslims killings Muslim and non-Muslims. Let me ask them to justify why Christianity is stating the following:

    Murders preached in the Bible:-

Kill People Who Don’t Listen to Priests

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12)

    Kill Fortunetellers

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27)

    Death for Hitting Dad

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15)

    Death for Cursing Parents

    1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)

    2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9)

    Death for Adultery

If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10)

    Death for Fornication

A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 )

Death to Followers of Other Religions

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19)

    Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19)

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night

But if this charge is true (that she wasn’t a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

    Kill Followers of Other Religions.

    1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12)

    2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5)

Kill People for Working on the Sabbath

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’ (Exodus 31:12-15)

    Rape and Baby Killing

Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. (Isaiah 13:15-18)

  60. Ibnu Ahmad Says:

    @Ahmed.
We read in the Holy Qur’an as below:-
[5:76] The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely, Messengers like unto him had indeed passed away before him. And his mother was a truthful woman. They both used to eat food. See how We explain the Signs for their good, and see how they are turned away.
[3:145] And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him. If then he die or be slain, will you turn back on your heels? And he who turns back on his heels shall not harm Allah at all. And Allah will certainly reward the grateful.

    Commenting on his first statement:

From the above two verses: Verse 5: 76; shows that, all Prophets before Jesus (pbuh) passed away, none of them is living in the time of Jesus.

Similarly, the second Verses applied to the Holy Prophet (pbuh), shows that none of the Prophets before him (pbuh) is alive. Since Jesus (pbuh) is before him, then how could Jesus be considered alive, and will be returning after the demise of the Holy Prophet (pbuh)?
Even if we consider the argument of Mr. Ahmad is valid, by accepting the return of Jesus, then the meaning of the Holy Prophet as the last one, is meaningless, and we cannot also accept the justification by some that, since Jesus was a (Nabi) before the Holy prophet (pbuh), then this will not violate his position (pbuh) as the last Prophet… On what ground people accept such false view, fabricated by some Muslim scholars, because they want to find any excuse for proving that Jesus is still alive!
Also, the word – Khalath (Passed away) in both Verses; were used in the past tense, and not in the Present continuous tense!

    Commenting on his second statement:
“There is clear evidence to say, Mahdi and Jesus are different person and not one person”

    Reply:
If Mr. Ahmad will accept the argument of the death of Jesus (pbuh), then it is impossible to proceed. My recommendation is to let Mr. Ahmad read much explanation on the death of Jesus.
    Commenting on his third statement:
“The Ahmad that refers in quran is to Mohamed not for anybody, it’s clear with the context”
    Reply:
    While reading the following Verseً
61:7] And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, surely I am Allah’s Messenger unto you, fulfilling that which is before me of the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’ And when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, ‘This is clear enchantment.’
It is necessary to read carefully the following verse, which explains the above:

[61:8] But who could do greater wrong than one who forges the lie against Allah while he is called to Islam? Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
If the name is applied to Mohammad (pbuh), then how can you justify the invitation by the disbelievers to the Holy prophet calling him to Islam, while he (pbuh) himself has brought the religion of Islam!
Contrary to the wrong view of Muslims, the Promised Messiah (as) has been considered by Muslims as (Kafir), inviting him to go back to the folk of Islam… Can such view be reasonable enough to convince Mr. Ahmad of the Ahmadiyya explanations?!!

Thank you Radha for the comments

  62. Lorenzo Says:

    Ahmed,

That is the OLD TESTAMENT which was superseded by the new testament.

But unfortunately Islam has gone back to Christian old testament!!

  63. Ibnu Ahmad Says:

    @Jimmy.
What Bible says that are written, nothing else. You people keep on baseless attacking on Islam and its Holy Founder. We clearly say that no blame should be on Islam and its Founder. We clearly mentioned what Islamic Jihad is. Even then, you people do not understand. We are compelled to open the Bible to expose what it contains on this issue.

  64. Ibnu Ahmad Says:

    @Ahmed.

You say, Khatam means last, you at-least admit that the word khatam means Seal and hence KhatamunNabiyyin means, Seal of the Prophets. However, you want to say that Muhammad Rasulullah (sa), by becoming the Khatamun Nabiyyin, he has sealed the prophet- hood and no more prophet, hence can come.

I would like to differ here with you on the interpretation of this word Seal and hence if you so wish you can brand me also in the group you wish to brand. I have no problem.

I would like to ask one simple question to you. That is, can you quote at-lest one verse from the whole of Holy Quran to substantiate your meaning of Last Prophet? If so I can agree with you.

You have interpreted that, seal of the prophet means, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) has sealed the prophet- hood and hence no more prophet can come. But I interpret that by becoming the khatamun Nanbiyyin, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has been given the authority that with out the seal of Rasulullah (sa) , no other prophet can come.

Now to find out which interpretation is correct we have to go back to the Holy Quran.

I would like to bring to your knowledge two special references Allah want us to know about Holy Quran’s narration and truthfulness.

    .
    1) Allahu Nazzala Ahasanal Hadithi Kitaban Mutashabihan Mathani—–( Sura Al Zumar 39: 24)

Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself (yet) repeating ( its teachings in various aspects)

2)Afala Yatadabbarunal Qurana valou kana min indi ghairillahi lavajaduhu fihi ikhtilafan kathiran. ( Al Nisa 4: 83)

“ Do they not consider the Quran ( with care)? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found there in much discrepancy.”

For your information, by revealing the first verse quoted above, Allah wishes us to understand that the verses in the Holy Quran are consistent and its teachings are repeating in various aspects.
Means, messages mentioned anywhere in the Holy Quran is consistent from beginning to end, and to substantiate this point, that the messages are consistent, teachings are oft- repeated.

Now, I want to bring you to this special nature of narration of holy Quran as explained by Allah. If what you say is correct that, Khatam means last, and khatamun Nabiyyin means last of the Prophets, can you show me at-least one single verse anywhere from the H.Quran with the similar meaning. I am sure you cannot show that even if you take the support of the scholars all over the world about whom you have proudly referred to, who have certified Ahmadies as Kafirs. .
Thus, it is proved that by point no.1, i.e, “Repetition of its teachings in various aspects” your inter-pretation is wrong.

Now, going back to the point of consistency, if someone show you at-least 5 verses from the Holy Quran which supports the view point of possibility of prophet- hood after Rasulullah (sa)- of course with out a new sharait and from the ummat of Rasulullah (sa)-, again your interpretation is proved wrong.
( If you are interested such references can be quoted on your request.)

Now going to no 2 of the references I have mentioned above i.e “ Do they not consider the Quran ( with care)? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found there in much discrepancy “
Thus, Allah throws a challenge that, there is no discrepancy in Holy Quran.
Based on this challenge, if you cannot show any proof from H.Quran on consistency and repetition of your point, and at the same time if we can find the possibilities of continuation of prophet- hood, as mentioned above, based on your understanding, it becomes a discrepancy, which we both agree cannot be attributed to the Holy Quran. This is especially so because, Allah makes it abundantly clear through the verse (Ayat) mentioned above that, there is no contradiction or discrepancy in the Holy Quran…

Thus, considering the challenge of consistency, repetition and no discrepancy, we have to conclude that your interpretation is completely wrong, as there cannot be any discrepancy in Holy Quran as we both believe.

Further, I would like to quote the interpretations of many of our renowned scholars whom we both respect, which is self explanatory.

    1) In Mufradat, the Tafsir of Quran byHazraath Imam Raghib says:-

“Khtatamunnabiyyina Li AnnahuKhaatama NnubuwwataAyy Tamamaha Bomajeehi”

“By the statement Muhammad (PBUH) is Khtamun Nabiyyin means, that he has done Khatam on Messengers which means by his arrival he has fulfilled that”

    2) Hazrath Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Hasanut Tirmidhi ( Death 308AH) says:-
“Wa Ma’anahu Indana Anna Nnubuwwata Tamamata Bi Ajmaiha Li Muhammadin Fa Jaala Khalbahu Bi Kamaali Nnubuwwati Wa Aaun Alaaiha Athumma Khatama”
    ————————————————————————————————————
“According to our belief, Khatamunnabiyyin means that, prophet-hood, with all its adjuncts and glory, has culminated in the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and God Almighty so determined that, his heart be used as a vessel to collect all the perfections of prophet-hood and, then put His seal to it”
    (Kitab Khatamul Auliya –P. 241)

    3) H. Immam Fakhrud Din Razi ® ( D-544), the renowned interpreter and commentator of the Holy Quran says:-

“Fal Aqalu Khatama Al Kullu Wal Khatamu Yajibu AnYakuna Afdhalu Alaa Taraa Anna Rasuluna (sa) Lamma Kaana Khatamnnabiyyina Kaana Afdhalul Anbiyaai.”
    (Tafsir Kabir Raasi V. 6 P- 31)

“Wisdom, is the Khatam of all, and for Khatam, it is essential to be supreme. Remember that the holy prophet (PBUH), when he was raised to the status of Khatamunnabiyyin, was confirmed to be supreme among all the prophets”.

    4) H. Sayyed Abdul Krim Jeelani (R) ( B.767AH/ 1365 AD) says:-

“Wa kaana Muhammadun (sa) Khatamunnabiyyina Li Annahu Jaaa Bilkamali Walam Yajeeu Ahadun Bizalika (Al Insanul Kaamil V 10 Ch 36. P.69)

“Rasul (sa) is Khatamunnabiyyin because he attained the highest perfection which no prophet ever did. “

    5) The learned and blessed H.Sayyed Abdul Karim Jeelani (RA) again says:-
The holy Prophet (PBUH) was the Khatamun Nabiyyin because he imparted to us the knowledge of wisdom, guidance and all the spiritual secrets and he directed us to all these in a very clear and exhaustive manner. (Al Insanul Kamil, V-1, Ch 36, p-69)

    6) Moulana Qari Muhammad Tayyib Qasimi Muhatarim Darul Uloom Devband says:-
“Muahmmad (sa) is the person who has reached the helm of all divine knowledge. All knowledge has ended with Rasulullah (sa). That is why he has become the khatamul Auliya
    (Shane Risalat –P. 48)

We have seen that Khatam means seal. .Thus, the meaning of Khatamunnabiyyin means Muhammad (sa) is the seal of all prophets. Not only this, with out the authentic seal of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) no one else can come later.
Not only this, from the statements given by lot of highly learned people few of which is given below, it can be seen that with in shareeat of Muhammad (sa) and the with the seal of Holy Prophet (sa) further prophets can come.

    7) Al Qasimul Hafidhul Muhaddath Ibnu Ali Says:- Innahu saara kal Khatami allathi Yukhtamuna bihi”
“Rasul (sa) is the seal of all prophets. He is the testifier for the truthfulness of all Prophets.”-
    (Fathul Qadir. V. 4 P- 276)

    8) H. Sheikh Ahmad Farooqi of Sarhind ( D. 1034 AH/ 1624 AD)has stated:-

“The rising of a Prophet after the Khatama Rasul Muhammad the chosen one, (PBUH), from among his own followers and as a heritage, does not in any way run counter to his status as the Khatam Rasul. Therefore,, O ye reader, do not be among those who doubt”
(Maktubat Imam Rabbani Hazrat Mujaddid Alif Thani)

    9) The most renowned and distinguished commentator of the Holy Quran and leader of the Sufi School of thought, H. Mohiyuddin Ibni Arabi has said:-
“From the study and contemplation of the Darud we have arrived at the definite conclusion that there shall, from among the Muslims, certainly be persons whose status, in the matter of prophet-hood, shall advance to the level of the prophets, if Allah pleases. But, they shall not be given any book of law. “ (Fatuhat Makkiya, V-1, P-545)

    10) The sixth Imam of the Shia sect who lived in the first century of Islam, Hazrat Jaafer Sadiq, ( D-148 AH-/ 765 AD), peace be on him said:-
“Hazrat Abu Jaafer while discussing the Quranic verse “For verily we granted the book to the children of Abraham–said that God vouchsafed to the children of Abraham Messengers, Prophets and Imams. But what is ironical is that people believe in what God blessed the children of Abraham, yet they deny this blessing for the progeny of Muhammad.

    11) A very renowned Sufi and a very famous writer and speaker, H. Imam Abdul Wahab Sherani ( D-976 AH/ 156AD),says:- “ Let it be known that the order of prophet hood has not totally ceased, it is the Law bearing prophet hood which has discontinued”

“After the demise of the Holy Prophet, PBUH , or even during his own life time, it is not an impossibility for some one to be exalted to the position of a simple prophet. But. a prophet with a new Law is, indeed forbidden”

    16) H. Mirza Mazhar Jan Janan Naqshabandi ( D-1195 AH/ 1781 AD,) an acknowledged authority on Mysticism, well known literary person and master of poetry and prose, has said:-

    18) H. Sayyed Abdul karim Jilani has written:- “ The coming of the Law bearing prophets, after the Holy Prophet, (PBUH) has ceased as he has been exalted to be the “Khatamunnabiyyin”, because he brought with him such a perfect Law as no prophet had brought before him( Al Insanul Kamil, V- 1, p-68, Egypt edition)

    19) The chief of the Mystics and the Sheikh of his time, H. Al Sheikh Bali Afandi ( D- 960AH) has said:-
“Kahatamarrasul” is he after whom no prophet with a new Law shall be born”
    (Sharah Fususl Hakam)

    20) H. Maulana Farhangi Mahal,(D – 134 AH),has said:- “ The divines of the Sunni sect also believe in and expound the fact that in the course of the ministry of the Holy Prophet ,(PBUH). there cannot appear a law bearing prophet and his prophet-hood extends to the end of days. “If there may appear to be equality and similarity between the original and reflection, it does not matter, because superiority even then belongs to him, for he is the original and the Khatamun Nabiyyin (Tahzeerunnas, P 30or 33)

Finally, Mr. Ahmad, in his comments Aziz mentioned that Jesus, son of Mary died a natural death before the advent of Prophet of Islam (PBUH). He also gave some references from the Holy Qur’an. Can you please give us a single verse that Isa (alaihissalam) – Jesus, son of Mary still living in the sky?
Holy prophet (sal) mentioned only thirty liars. Only 30. If a truthful comes after coming of these 30 liars, are you ready to accept him? Definitely you will not. Certainly, if you people who follow these Ulemas would have born during the time of Prophet Muhammad(sal), you all would have rejected him.

  65. Rohan8 Says:

I think I just lost all respect for Professor Hudson McClean. I doubt you would become a professor of a western university. If Islamic scholars in their great Islamic Universities of learning in Baghdad and Cairo and elsewhere in the Islamic world a thousand years ago. Hadn’t preserved and added immensely to knowledge of the Greeks and Romans and others. Europe at this time was in the Dark ages. This knowledge flowed back into Europe from 1500s. Which enabled Europe to have the age of exploration, Renaissance etc. The advancement of the West and America wouldn’t have been possible without the massive contribution of the Muslims. When Europe was in the Dark ages. Muslims built magnificent planned cities with high standards of civic living for its time. As seen in movies such as thousand and one nights etc. Europe’s cities when they were being built copied a lot on what the cities that had been built in the Islamic world hundreds years before. Even the computer and technological revolution wouldn’t have been possible without the work of Muslim mathematicians. Yes the west owes huge debt to the Islamic world. I think if Professor Hudson spent a few productive hours at any good Library. This information that I say would be readily available.

  66. gishan Says:

What ever see the Muslim Countrys , Most of them getting problems in their countries . This is the result by Universal energy which has the behavior that EVERY ACTION HAS A REACTION by universal energy. Muslims kills innocent animals for meat and even they buy a car , they kill a animal , and take blood from that innocent animal touch those animal blood to the new Car. Muslim should stop this behavior. All Muslim must remember there is no two Truths, Truth is one . There is no two. Truth is killing animals for anything is very bad . Muslim have no right to kill animals. Every life [human or animal] belongs to own life. So another life has no right to grab that life. Muslim said, god has told, animals life is for the use of human life. if so, did god create human meat for the use of Bears, Lions, Tigers, Crocodiles ???????????? because those animals eat human meat. You can understand killing animals of god concept is wrong. Truth is this, your god has told this——IF YOU KILL A INNOCENT ANIMAL, BEFORE YOU KILL THAT ANIMAL , FIRST YOU SHOULD BE IN THE VERY HOT HEATED METAL PLATE, THEN YOU FEEL UNBEARABLE HEAT, THEN YOU KILL THE ANIMAL WITH YOU ARE ON THE VERY HEATED THAT PLATE. THAT MEANS , YOUR GOD HAS TOLD THAT DO NOT KILL THE ANIMALS. USE YOUR INTELLIGENCE, THEN YOU CAN UNDERSTAND IT. Remember every action has a reaction automatically by the universal energy for the BALANCE of the universal energy. Time table will vary according to the opportunity, but reaction will come surely. That is why Muslim world gets problems continually. So please stop killing animals and people for the save.

  67. jimmy Says:

Bashing on Muslims need to be stopped

There are great muslims who are very kind and humble same as Sinhalese , Tamils and Bergers

I was a child but remember the riots in 83 . I lost a dear uncle of mine who was an engineer in South
Most of the Tamils in Sinhala ares were safe because of good Sinhala Budhists and Sinhala Christians
Sadly thousands of Tamils including plantation tamils were killed. houses were burnt by small amount of thugs among the majority sinhalese

The innocent killings of Tamils does not represent the beautiful Religion Budhisim or Sinahalese
    Am I right on this??

Tigers ( terrorrists) killed so many innocent sinhalese tamils and muslims in the last 30 years
Even they kicked innocent Muslims from North . How could it happen?
Does it represent Tamils or Majority hinduism?
    I do not think so

There are good and bad apples in every community
    I rest my case

  68. abdulaziz Says:

    @Ahmed.

Regarding the issue of your ‘last Prophet’, many quotations were given to you from the Holy Qur’an that support the view that the door of Prophethood was not shut even after the advent of Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH). I think you have not gone through those verses which were quoted. Moreover, you have not presented a single verse of the Holy Qur’an in detail, that support your view that Holy Prophet being the last. Now, let me give you few examples in detail from the Holy Qur’an, that will give you true understanding on this matter of the ‘last’.

Ahmadi Muslims believe, based on several points of evidence, that prophets can still appear after Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, among his followers, the restriction of no more prophets being for one who abrogates the existing Islamic Shariah or code of law, and brings a new one.

The verse non-Ahmadi Muslims most often present, is the following:
“MAA KAANA MUHAMMADUN ABAA AHADIN MIRRIJAALIKUM WALAAKIN RASOOLALLAHI WA KHATAMAN NABIYYEEN…” (The Holy Quran, Chapter 33; verse 41 including Bismillah .. as a verse)
    Meaning:
MUHAMMAD IS NOT THE FATHER OF ANY OF YOUR MALES BUT IS A MESSENGER OF ALLAH AND IS THE SEAL OF THE PROPHETS…
This verse was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when his adversaries jeered at him for his being issueless, when God comforted him with this verse among others, indicating his greatness and superiority. The word “walaakin” (“but”) in the verse indicates that his being issueless is of little or no significance when one looks at his great qualities mentioned in the next part of the verse. Nowhere in the verse is there mention of his being the “last” prophet. If “seal” is taken to mean “last” in the context, it does not make any logical sense, as that would have further aggravated the mockery — what good is there in coming last of all anyway? It does not signify greatness. The “seal” should be taken to mean the seal of authority, under attestation of which one can attain prophethood and in no other way. This seems to make more sense as shown by subsequent verses in the article:
In the very first chapter of the Holy Quran (Al Fatehah), God says:

“IHDINASSIRAATAL MUSTAQEEM. SIRAAT ALLAZEENA AN’AMTA ALAIHIM…”

GUIDE US IN THE RIGHT PATH, THE PATH OF THOSE ON WHOM THOU HAST BESTOWED THY BLESSINGS (Al Quran 1:6-7)
The chapter containing the above verse is supposed to be recited by every Muslim 30 or so, times in 24 hours, in which they ask for these blessings. As to who the recipients of these blessings are is defined in another verse of the Holy Quran:
“WA MAN YUTI’ILLAAHA WARRASOOLA FA ULAAIKA MA’ALLAZEENA AN’AMALLAAHU ‘ALAIHIM MINAL NABIYYEENA WASSIDDEEQEENA WASHSHUHADAAI WASSAALIHEENA, WAHASUNA ULAAIKA RAFEEQAA”.

AND WHOSO OBEYS ALLAH AND THIS MESSENGER SHALL BE AMONG THOSE ON WHOM ALLAH HAS BESTOWED HIS BLESSINGS, VIZ: THE PROPHETS, THE TRUTHFUL, THE MARTYRS AND THE RIGHTEOUS, AND EXCELLENT COMPANIONS ARE THESE. (Al Quran 4:70)

So it is clear that by obeying Allah and Hadhrat Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, one can be included in the above categories, prophethood being the highest, of course. An objection is made to the (4:70) verse’s translation that I presented above, that the word “Ma’a” in the verse does not mean “among”, but “with”, so one who fulfils obedience to Allah and this messenger would not himself/herself attain these ranks, but will simply be “with” those who have done so in the past. True; it does mean “with” in the literal sense, but this is very weak reasoning. We do not always have to take the literal meaning of words, for else, we would have to accept, for one pertinent instance, that Hadhrat Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was just a “seal” and not a human being — quite gross! Taking a look at another verse of the Holy Quran, we pray to God:

    “…WATAWAFFANA MA’AL ABRAAR”

AND CAUSE US TO DIE WITH THE RIGHTEOUS (Al Quran, 3:194)

If we take literal meaning of “with” in this verse, it should follow from the verse, based on non-Ahmadi insistence in favor of literal vs. figurative meaning, that:
It is like praying to God: O God, please, please, whenever some righteous person is about to die, cause us to somehow stop breathing, put some embolus into our coronary arteries, or do something to somehow cause us to die EXACTLY AT THE SAME TIME when some righteous person in our neighborhood is about to die, for we want to “die with the righteous”. I am sure even non-Ahmadi Muslims do not have this in mind when they say this prayer. What good would it do to a person to “die with” a righteous person. Several thieves, murderers, rapists, drug smugglers, “Jeffrey Dahmers”, etc., may die synchronously with righteous people, but this does not make them good or do any good to them. The fact is, we pray to God to “MAKE US RIGHTEOUS” on the same pattern as other righteous people before us.
Another verse of the Holy Quran clearly points to the fact that Hadhrat Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was not the last of Prophets and that the door to prophethood is still open:

“YAA BANEE AADAMA IMMAA YA’TIYANNAKUM RUSULUN MINKUM YAQUSSOONA ALAIKUM AAYAATEE FAMANITTAQAA WA ASLAHA FA LAA KHAUFUN ALAIHIM WA LAA HUM YAHZANOON”

O CHILDREN OF ADAM! IF MESSENGERS COME TO YOU FROM AMONG YOURSELVES, REHEARSING MY SIGNS UNTO YOU, FEAR GOD AND DO GOOD DEEDS AS THEN, NO FEAR OR GRIEF SHALL TOUCH YOU (Al Quran, 7:36)

Recently, I had an opportunity to meet an Ahmadi Muslim who very recently converted into Ahmadiyya Community and he is from Eastern Province. By passing, he told me that he joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at by reading this verse. The verse was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and it makes no sense to give an instruction in the verse regarding how to behave when a prophet appears, if Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, were the last.
Again, in the Holy Quran is a verse that points not only to the door of prophethood being open, but to Prophet Muhammad’s , peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, return to the world (in a figurative sense):

“HUWALLAZEE BA’ATHA FIL UMMIYYEENA RASOOLAN MINHUM YATLOO ALAIHIM AAYAATIHI WAYUZAKKEEHIM WAYU’ALLIMUHUMUL KITAABA WAL HIKMAH; WA INN KAANOO MIN QABLU LAFEE DALAALIN MUBEEN; WA AAKHAREENA MINHUM LAMMAA YALHAQOO BIHIM, WA HUWAL AZEEZUL HAKEEM” (Al Jum’ah)

HE IT IS WHO HAS RAISED AMONG THE UNLETTERED A MESSENGER FROM AMONG THEMSELVES WHO RECITES UNTO THEM HIS SIGNS, AND PURIFIES THEM, AND TEACHES THEM THE BOOK AND WISDOM, ALTHOUGH THEY HAD BEEN, BEFORE, IN MANIFEST MISGUIDANCE. AND AMONG OTHERS FROM AMONG THEM WHO HAVE NOT YET JOINED THEM. HE IS THE MIGHTY, THE WISE (The Holy Quran, 62:3-4)

This verse relates to the advent of the Messiah and Mehdi from amongst Prophet Muhammad’s, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, followers. The mention of his advent “among others from among them who have not yet joined them” refers to a community which had not yet come into existence then, but was sure to appear in the future, to “join” the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. It is important to note that the companions of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who were listening to the verse were intrigued and one of them even asked him as to who those lucky ones of the future would be. The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, placed his hand on a companion’s shoulder who was sitting by his side, Hadhrat Salman of Persia (may God be pleased with him) and stated:

“LAU KAANAL IMAANU MU’ALLAQAN BITHTHURAYYA LANAALUHU RAJULUN MIN HAA’ULAAI”

EVEN IF FAITH DISAPPEARED FROM THE EARTH AND MOVED UP TO THE ZENITH, A MAN FROM THESE WILL BRING IT BACK TO THE EARTH

Is it a mere coincidence, then, that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, peace be upon him, was of Persian descent? He claimed to be the fulfillment of this prophecy.

Now let me give you another verse of the Holy Quran, portending the philosophy of these “last prophet” people in history. Declaring Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, the last of prophets in time is not a new phenomenon in human behavior. God says in the Holy Quran:

“WA LAQAD JAA’AKUM YOOSUFU MIN QABLU BILBAYYINAATI FAMAA ZILTUM FEE SHAKKIM MIMMAA JAA’AKUM BEHEE, HATTAA IZAA HALAKA QULTUM LAN YAB’ATH ALLAHU MIN BA’DIHEE RASOOLAN. KAZAALIKA YUDILLULLAAHU MAN HUWA MUSRIFUM MARTAABU; NILLAZEENA YUJAADILOONA FEE AAYAATILLAHI BIGHAIRI SULTAANIN AATAAHUM. KABURA MAKTAN ‘INDALLAAHI WA ‘INDALLAZEENA AAMANOO KAZAALIKA YATBA’ULLAHU ‘ALAA KULLI QALBI MUTAKABBIRIN JABBAAR”.

And Joseph did come to you before with clear proofs, but you ceased not to be in doubt concerning that with which he came to you till, when he died, you said: ‘Allah will never raise up a Messenger after him.’ Thus does Allah adjudge as lost those who transgress, (and) are doubters. (Al Quran: 40:35)

These people are described by God in the verse that follows the one above, like this:
“Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them. Grievously hateful is this in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who believe. Thus does Allah seal up the heart of everyone (who is) arrogant, haughty”.

Now, these are not my words or the words of the Ahmadi Muslims, but the words of God from the Quran that Muslims believe.
It is interesting that in spite of no strong (or even weak) evidence from the Holy Quran in support of the present non-Ahmadi Muslim view that Hazrat Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was the last of Prophets, they still stick to it, and go to the extent of declaring it of pivotal importance to belief — that one who does not accept him as the last prophet is a non-Muslim.

Now, let me turn to Sunnah – Hadith (sayings of Holy Prophet of Islam) on this matter ‘last’.

At the demise of the Prophet’s (pbuh) son, Hazrat Ibrahim, he made an important statement which remains on record to this day:

“AN IBNI ‘ABBAASIN QAALA LAMMAA MAATA IBRAAHEEM UBNU RASOOLILLAHI SALLA ALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAMA SALLAA RASOOLULLAHI SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAMA WA QAALA INNA LAHU MURZI’AN FIL JANNATI WA LAU ‘AASHALA KAANA SIDDEEQAN NABIYYAA”

IT IS NARRATED BY HAZRAT IBNE ABBAAS (R.A.) THAT WHEN IBRAHIM, SON OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH PASSED AWAY, THE PROPHET (PBUH) SAID HIS FUNERAL PRAYER AND SAID THAT THERE IS A NURSE FOR HIM IN PARADISE AND IF HE HAD LIVED HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A TRUE PROPHET (Ibne Maja vol. 1, Kitaabal Janaiz, p. 237)

Ibne Maja is one of the Siha Sitta, the most authentic books of Hadeeth. It is interesting to note that Ibrahim passed away a number of years after the verse about “Khatam-an-Nabiyyeen” was revealed. He died in the year 9 A.H. and the verse was revealed in 5 AH. About four years after he knew through revelation that he was “Khataman Nabiyyeen”, his saying about his son: had he lived, he would certainly have been a prophet, clearly implies that he himself did not interpret the meaning of “Khatam-an-Nabiyyeen” literally, as “Last of the Prophets”.

Regarding the authenticity of this Hadeeth, Shahaab Ali Baidaawi writes:
AMMAA SEHAT AL-HADEETHE FALAA SHUB-HATA FEEHI LI-ANNAHU RAWAAH-UBNU MAAJATA WAGHAIRUHU,

    that:

There is no doubt about the authenticity of the Hadeeth because it was reported by Ibne Maja etcetera. (Shahab Ali Baidaawi vol. 7, pg 175)

Similarly, Hazrat Mulla Ali bin Muhammad Sultan Al Qari, a renowned divine of the Hanafi school of thought wrote:
“If Ibrahim had lived and became a prophet and likewise if Hazrat Umar became a prophet, then both of them would have remained his (the Prophet Muhammad’s, pbuh) followers”. (Mauzoo’aati Kabeer, p. 58)
Then he went on to write:
“…their becoming prophets would not have gone against the Almighty God’s saying Khatam-al-Nabiyyeen, since Khatam-al-Nabiyyeen simply implies that after the Prophet (pbuh) there cannot be any prophet who abrogates his Shariat and is not of his Umaah(is not his follower)” (Mauzoo’aati Kabeer, p. 59)

Another Hadith (sayings of Holy Prophet) is narrated slightly differently, and is even more interesting and decisive, narrated by Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (R.A)

“QAALA LAMMAA TUWAFFIYA IBRAAHEEMU ARSALANNABIYYU SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAMA ILAA UMMIHEE MAARIYYATA FAJAA’AT-HU WA GHASALATHU WA KAFFANATHU WA KHARAJA BIHEE WA KHARAJANNASU MA’AHU FA DAFANAHU WA ADKHALAN NABIYYU YADAHU FEE QABRIHEE FA QAALA AMAA WALLAAHI INNAHU LA NABIYYUBNA NABIYYIN”

“Said (Ali): When The Holy Prophet’s (pbuh) son, Ibraheem, passed away, he sent a message to his mother, Mariya, to prepare for the funeral So she came and bathed him and put a coffin over him; He (the prophet, pbuh) brought the funeral out along with his companions and buried him, and putting his hand in the grave, said: I SWEAR BY ALLAH, HE IS A PROPHET, SON OF A PROPHET”. (Tareekhul Kabeer Al Ibne Asaakar, p. 295; Al Fatawil Hadeethiyya Al Ibnul Hajr Al Haithmi, p. 125)

In another Hadith, the Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said:
ABU BAKRIN AFDALU HAAZIHIL UMMATI ILLAA AN YAKOONA NABIYYUN.

Abu Bakr is the most exalted person in THIS “Ummah” except if there happens to be a prophet (Kanoozul Haqaaiq Fee Hadeeth Khairul Khalaiq)

This leaves open the possibility of advent of prophet(s). The following similar Hadith has also been reported:
ABU BAKRIN KHAIRUN NAASE BA’DEE ILLAA AN YAKOONA NABIYYUN.

Abu Bakr is the most exalted person AFTER me except if there happens to be a prophet. (Kanzul A’maal, vol. 9, p138; Tabraani & Ibne Hadee Fil Kamil reference Jamiah Sagheer Al Siyotee, p. 5)

Now, it is clear from the mention of the word “after” in the Hadith, that the possibility of prophets’ coming remains existent even “after” the Prophet (pbuh). Furthermore, the use of the word “except” makes matters pretty clear, meaning that if a prophet DOES appear, then his status would be higher than Abu Bakr (RA). The Prophet of God (pbuh) graphically portrays a vivid picture of the future conditions of his group of followers:

“O YE MUSLIMS THE PRESENT PROPHETHOOD PERIOD AMONGST YOU WILL LAST AS LONG AS ALLAH WILLS. ON ITS CONCLUSION THERE WILL BE A PERIOD OF ‘KHILAAFAT ‘ALAA MINHAAJIN NABUWWAT’ (KHILAAFAT ON THE DESIGN, PATTERN AND SUCCESSION OF PROPHETHOOD; I.E. IN CONTINUATION OF THE PROPHET’S MISSION). THIS KHILAAFAT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A SUCCESSION OF KINGSHIP, WHICH WILL BE FOLLOWED BY DICTATORIAL REGIMES OF TYRRANY AND OPPRESSION, WHICH WILL BE FOLLOWED BY NON-DEMOCRATIC REGIMES. ON ITS CONCLUSION THERE WILL THEN BEGIN A SECOND SPELL OF REAL KHILAFAT ON THE PATTERN OF THE INITIAL ISLAMIC PERIOD.” (Masnad Ahmad, vol. 5, p. 404)

One cannot help remaining flabbergasted at the precise nature of the descriptions that the Prophet (pbuh) gave about future events, as if he were in our midst today, seeing what is going on with his Ummah. The prediction that after a long break during which will appear the kings, dictators and other non-democratic “regimes”, there will resume a Khilafat (System of spiritual leadership) on the pattern of the first “Khilaafat ‘alaa Minhaajin Nabuwwat” clearly indicates that the Prophet (pbuh) not only left open the door for other prophets to come in the future, but knew for certain that this would happen. The fourteen centuries after the Prophet (pbuh) have evinced the fulfilment of all the above conditions, including resumption of Khilafat on the pattern of prophethood (I leave you to decide whether this resumption was genuine or not, based on references). A Hadith of “Mishqaat” includes an insertion in Hadith indicating or clarifying that the reference of the second “prophet-based” Khilafat was indeed to the future advent of the Messiah.

Similarly, Hazrat Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet (pbuh) referred to the fact that there would be no prophet between him and the Messiah: LAISA BAINEE WA BAINAHU NABIYYUN, that there is no prophet between me and him.
This does not in any way exclude the Messiah himself from prophethood, nor does it close the channel for further prophets after the Messiah. Interesting, isn’t it?
Hitherto, it appears that I have been avoiding the meaning in which the Holy Prophet would be believed “last of messengers or prophets”. This is not so. Let me write here plainly — open your eyes wide and read:
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was, indeed the last of prophets, but in what sense?
In the figurative sense, and in no other sense, as we see in the following Hadith, in which even though the word “Akhar” — last or end, is used as such, it is clear that it does NOT mean “chronologically last”.

“I AM THE LAST OF THE PROPHETS AND YOU ARE THE LAST OF THE PEOPLES” (Sahih Muslim)

It is true that the word used is “last”, but in the same sentence is also mentioned that “you are the last of peoples”. Have there not been people (chronologically) after the people who were addressed by the Prophet (pbuh)?

“INNEE AAKHIRUL ANBIYAAI WA INNA MASJIDEE AAKHIRUL MASAAJID”

I AM THE LAST OF THE PROPHETS AND MY MOSQUE IS THE LAST MOSQUE. (Sahih Muslim, Kitabul Haj Fazlis Salaat, p. 531)

It is crystal clear that even though the Holy Prophet called himself the “last of the prophets”, it should not be taken in its literal meaning, for then one would have to believe that the Prophet (pbuh) also implied that there would not be any mosque after his. Any one who has seen a mosque has probably seen one that was constructed after the Holy Prophet’s. I have not yet had the chance to see his mosque, but have seen hundreds that were built after his. The real meaning implied by the Prophet (pbuh) is clearly “of the greatest rank”, or “highest in rank” rather than “last” in order of time.

There are other examples in support of the continuity of prophethood, we see in the Hadith, for the time-being , I am not including them here.
