M I M Rezwie President Masjidul Ayesha Jummah Mosque

At the request of the Hospital Committee – Colombo North Teaching Hospital at Ragama, Masjidul Ayesha Jummah Mosque at Enderamulla WattalaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  has undertaken to maintain Ward No: 05. This is the first social oriented project that has been undertaken by the Muslim communityƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  particularly by a Jummah Mosque in the Gampaha District to maintain a Ward in a Government Hospital.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday 25th November, 2011 at Ward No: 5 premises at Colombo North Teaching Hospital at Ragama to commence the initial task of painting the ward with the participation of Ven.Thuruvila Wimaladhamma Nahimi, President, Hospital Committee, Chief Priest of Negombo, Ven. Kondaramulla Ganatissa Nahimi, Dr Sakaf Mubarak, Hony. Treasurer of Hospital Committee, Dr D M K Dissanayake Hony. Secretary, Hospital/Administrative Officer, Dr Ranjith Jayasekera, Consultant/Surgeon and Dr M Shameem (deputy) with Al Haj M I M Rezwie President Masjidul Ayesha Jummah Mosque, Al Haj M I S Careem Hony. Treasurer Masjidul Ayesha Jummah Mosque with the unstinted support of Al Haj M B M Hamza (JP All Island) and Founder chairman of Masjidul Ayesha Jummah Mosque Enderamulla Wattala.

The program concluded with donating three units Water Filters for the use of OPD and Clinic and distribution of meals parcels to the patients admitted in Ward No: 5

The function was held in the presence of the Provincial Council Members Religious Dignitaries, Doctors, Senior Matrons, Senior Nurses and the Hospital staff of Colombo North Teaching Hospital.

    A very applaudable act by this Muslim community. Instead of practicing Self-Isolation, more of this behavior is needed by Muslims towards their fellow countrymen, and that in turn will help build bridges between our citizens of different faiths and philosophies.
