ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Having failed to win the hearts of their kinsmen in the South the JVP is now trying to win the hearts of the Tamils in the North. We would wish them better luck there . But success of a political come back with the aid of the Tamils voters in the North is a lost cause from the beginning.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Firstly the Tamils in the North having already gone through difficult times under a more ruthless terrorists will not want to fall into the hands of another group of small time terrorists, who are known to have killed with utter brutality their own people in a failed bid for a rebellion of an imagined ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚« proletariat ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Somawansa Amarasinghe, strutting like a cock in a hen house, hasnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t even the personality for political leadership of any sorts though groomed to be one by the JVP, which is already a party without a direction despite Amarasinghe. Like Sarath FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s request for release from prison from Barrack Obama, JVP seems to plead for political recognition from Jaffna Tamils. Both Sarath Fonseka and JVP donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t seem to understand that their redemption one from imprisonment and the other for a respectable political come back, lies not with Barrack Obama for the former or Jaffna Tamils or the EU for the latter , but from the President of Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ To day it is necessary that any Political Party, Civil Society Groups, Trade Unions or Individuals with any self respect should go even a very little distance towards reconciliation of Communities without allowing them to distance from one another. In that effort there should be serious consideration of the lager interest of the country to the complete absence of any personal interests.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Tamil people of Sri Lanka are difficult to please, and are suspicious of the Sinhala people with however much sincerity they offer their hands of friendship to them. That is an ethnic characteristic the foreign “know- alls” will never be able to understand.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ( There are however Tamils who had lived in the West observing the foreigners with whom they lived with intelligence , and who have understood that Sinhala are not the monsters they had been made to believe, but Sri Lankans like themselves, and their development , peace and happiness in Sri Lanka is in working along side the Sinhala. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Tamils however understand that the JVP who have betrayed their own people cannot be trusted to have any genuine interest in the welfare of he Tamil people. They know that their sudden interest in the Tamils of the north is for their own benefit , having lost their political bases in the south.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP is now a group of disoriented politicians, who seem to have lost their intelligent appreciation of situations into which they step. In a country just out of a thirty years of an unimaginable suffering, all Political Parties, groups or individuals should act cautiously without putting into danger the on going reconciliation moves of the government. Handunetti and Ramalingam of JVP had no right to give statements to the press in Jaffna condemning the Government of Sri Lanka which has made considerable effort to give a tremendous face lift to the towns and the country side of north and east while ameliorating the standard of living of the people.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is just over two year since terrorism has been eliminated and the government is beginning to get the Tamil people to understand its intention to unite the communities and bring the Tamil people into Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s main stream politics. As we are dealing with a people who were psychologically disturbed by a long unending fear of terrorism of thirty years, they have to be handled with care.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP completely indifferent to such sentiments goes to Jaffna and acts like bulls in a glass shop , completely destabilizing the people and putting them into a quandary developing a greater distrust of the government,forcing them to rally round not JVP, but round the TNA as what ever they had stood for during terrorism, they are after all their own people. This is what the JVP consciously or unconsciously doing to the Tamil people in the north, forcing them away from the Government and the other communities in Sri Lanka to be with the TNA as a last resort.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If any Political Party does not support the political leadership of the President Mahinda Rajapaka and his Government they may oppose him politically within the country without attacking the President personally.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A Sovereign State should not subordinate itself to foreign interference into its internal affairs. If any political Party, group or individual despite this golden rule invites the foreign intervention in support of their narrow political interests the Government of Sri Lanka should warn them that such action besides being detrimental to the Sovereign State of Sri Lank, is treason.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The government should take preventive measures under the Terrorism Act to stop these manoeuvres . If there is no appropriate laws to Arrest them for Treason under the Constitution or the Terrorism Act , new laws should be passed to stop these miscreants from damaging the interest of the Country.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pubudu Jayakody of the breakaway faction of the JVP has recently declared his partyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s intention to appeal to the UE for the release of abducted members of his party. Sarath Foneka is appealing to President Barrack Obama, to intervene on his behalf to demand the Government of Sri lank to set aside the decision of a Sri Lanka tribunal and get him released from prison. Sampanthnan and his TNA Cronies are going all over the world, to USA, Canada, Netherland and India requesting them to settle the ethnic problem by devolving political, land and police powers to the North an East. UNP wants to appeal to the International Democratic Union requiring its intervention for good governance in Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All these people of different political parties are selling the Sovereignty of Sri Lanka, inviting the Foreign Countries to intervene in the internal affairs of the country. In the mean time 75 NGOs have signed an appeal demanding Independent Rule in the North and East of Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka is divided and the Political Parties like the JVP, TNA, UNP, and others instead of Joining hands with the government on National issues are appealing to the Foreign Governments to intervene in the internal matters of the Country.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The worst is the JVPers in this respect who may not have even read the 800 odd pages of the report of the LLRC, say that the report of the LLRC is a wastage of time. In the light of the demands of the Western Countries to set up an Independent Committee of Investigation , this is the worst betrayal.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These politicians display their complete disinterest in Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They are after their own personal benefits, and dreaming to capture political power by hook or by crook. Whether they may later invite the NATO intervention is yet to be seen.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP had recently spoken of the Egyptian people demonstrating in Thahir Sqaure against their Government, with out understanding that their mass demonstrations and those of Tunisia against their governments have turned out to be changing pillows to cure a headache.

We, the People of Lanka, should hold ourselves responsible that we have not used our Rights wisely in a Democracy. We, the People of Lanka, should have PETITIONED (MILLIONS OF PETITIONS) the GoSLs a long time ago to REMOVE & OUTLAW all ethnic based political parties. While we are doing just that this time around, make sure that religion based political parties are unlawful too, just in case that possibility arises. Send/post PETITIONS to the Speaker of the House to present to Parliament. Do so under organisations or at individual level.
All Democratic Governments must be PUSHED to change, to do the Will of the People. Or else they will indulge in Survival Tactics and merely go on the beaten track. We have still to learn how to use our Democracy to our advantage. Americans leant to get their Social Security by Petitioning Pres.Roosevelt after WWII. He challenged the People : “make me do it”, and they did. Till then they had not realised their collective Power. Presidents & Governments in a Democracy enact the Will of the People. That
is true Democracy.

The root cause of the problem is this: majority of voters in the north are RACISTS.
Think how we can resolve this problem and you have found the PERMANENT SOLUTION to all this nonsense.
1. How can we change the racist mindset of the northern majority?
2. How we can change the majority in the north and make the racists a minority?
#1 – I don’t think that will EVER happen. It’s getting worse since 1947!
#2 – This is the way to go.
Then TNA, TULF, TNPF and other racists will be defeated at elections and no one will hear of them. They can hide in a corner and scream but the majority in the north would not be listening to them.
For political survival they will have to reach out to the non-racist NEW majority in the north. That will change TNA, etc. for survival.
Either way the problem will be swept away from the north as we did in the east to where it belongs – Toilet Nadu.

There is only one way to permanently defeat and erase the racist mindsets of the TNA, and most Tamils of the North who elect them: Eliminate their MAJORITY STATUS in the region through settlement of the North & East by members of other communities of Sri Lanka. Then finally we will have peace.
Settlement of the North by other communities should be the primary thrust of a Broader Government Sponsored Program of Ethnic Integration that promotes multilingual education, multiracial workplaces, and multicultural social activities. The goal of such settlement should be to achieve a statistically homogeneous demographic distribution in the nation, without which the other aspects of the program cannot be achieved. If you don’t live in the same neighborhood, intercommunal empathy i through education, work, culture etc cannot be achieved. Let us create an environment in which people must live, learn and work together in order to survive and prosper.
Living in close proximity is crucial: It is hard to DEMONIZE people you live with … sharing food, work together, and playing together. It is infinitely easier to DEMONIZE people separated by distance, language, religion and culture dehumanizing them and assigning to them alien attributes.
Ethnic Integration is a MUST in Sri Lanka; It is the path towards permanently binding together all peoples of Sri Lanka into ONE people … the Sri Lankan people. ONE Nation, ONE People, ONE Destiny should be our goal.

Dec 20, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa says the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), the major Tamil party of the country needs to move away from the war mentality of the Tamil Tiger terrorist group LTTE.
Addressing the media personnel today at the Temple Trees, the President said instead, the TNA must appear on behalf of the needs of people they are representing in the country and not on the requirements of pro-LTTE migrant groups.
Accusing the Tamil party of working in conformity with the wishes and requirements of LTTE loyalists in the world, the President denounced the TNA’s call for an international inquiry against the country as the most serious treacherous act and harm they were doing for the country and for the Tamil people.
President Rajapaksa emphasized that the government will not grant police powers to provincial councils as sought by the TNA and said the arguments presented by the Ceylon Workers Leader and Minister Armugam Thondaman on problems that could arise due to provision of police powers to the provincial councils are reasonable.
He said the government has never engaged in a dispute with the TNA, but the party was participating in talks with the goals of the LTTE in mind. He urged the TNA to make efforts for a political solution instead of making undue political efforts for the world to unnecessarily interfere in Sri Lanka.
“The Eelam dream is still reigning in them. What the Tamil Alliance should do is to nominate representatives to the Select Committee for a political solution,” the President said.
The President also noted that the government has recruited Tamil speaking citizens to the police. Interviews are presently being conducted to recruit another batch of Tamil citizens to the police service.

What I LOVE best is MOST Tamils in the north will HATE this. They want to live like they lived in Tamil Nadu for 3000 years and even today – Tamil ONLY. They will HATE this but if it can be done, we have a solution. Our military in the north is a enabler of this strategy.
A goal should be SMART.
Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound.
GOSL’s reconciliation goal should be to have 35% non-Tamils in the northern province by 2020.
35% non-Tamils (they will never vote for TNA crap) and 20% EPDP, UPFA, UNP Tamil voters will outnumber Tamil racist parties. Then we should devolve power to the northern province without police and land powers.

Informations are available that India isn´t interested in UNO intervening their internal cast problems.
But the Tamils particularly from so called Racist minded from North also have the same opinion.
They say cast problem within Tamils. Sinhalese or anyother have no rights to intervene.

JVP and Tamil terrorists marrige is in the open after almost 5 decades.
Both are Socialists of differnt castes. Marxuixsts, Lenniists, 4th Internationalist, Communists, Guveris and others.
Socialism in the Island started with the Jaffna Youth Congress, blessed by the likes of Mohamdas Karamchand.
All Sinhalese who took up these ideologies are deciples of the priviledged Indian colonial parasites who arrived in the Island since 1792. The Sinhalese who took up these ideologies were dependent on these Indians and other Indians for the socialist ideas. Most of them were dependent on their money as most of these Sinhalese were did not have much money locally or when they were overseas.
Roots of JVP goes back to the days and it was called Wiyapara. Some of the Sinhalese behind it were S D Bandaranake, Sarth Muttetuwegama and othe Sinhalese and Tamils like Tampoe and Shan machans. and Trade Unionists..
Look at facts and events to see what goes behind politics. Rohan Wijeweera was hiding among Tamils when he was discovered. Some of his high ranking comrades went to Western countries with the Help of Tamil terrorists. These comrades go on ralles against Sinhalese in the West with Tamils , Indians and Western Socialists.. They address seminars organised by Tamil terrorists and tell the Western audiences that the Tamils are being prosecuted who had been living in the Island before the Sinhalese invaers came in.
It appears tamils and Indians did not provide much support to 1971 JVP terrorism; only ideological. There was no need as the then government was under the thumb of Tamils, Indians and India. remeber the Indian jet fighters that flew over the Island nation to scare JVPers. It was the poor Sinhalese youth who died as a resullt.
In the latter part of 1980 JVP was resurrected by the Tamil terrorists and the Third Eye. There were plenty of money provided. The JVP set up hundreds ofbranch offices among the Sinhalese. These offices had organisers who were well paid with latest office facilities. Vehicles were provided and all outgoings paid.JVP infrastrutre was the best that the Island politics ever had. They had plenty of money for propaganda and brianwashing classes for the poor Sinhalese youth.
They went on killing Sinhalese and providing support to the Tamil terrorits to kill Sinhalese. When they were wiped out by the Government lot of the Sinhalese youth died. The leaders went to the West to join the old comrades in the West with Tamil terrorists and third Eye support.

If other ethnicities are to populate the N&E of Lanka, they and all Tamils who want to live with us in peace must always be protected by HSZ and garrisons of the armed forces.
I read through Thomas Johnpulle’s article (website given by Lorenzo, http://www.srilankaguardian.org/2011/10/tamil-caste-discrimination.html – for which our thanks). This article exposes the full facts that the wars of the north are caste based, and really started with the Social Disabilities Act (SDA) of Sri Lanka, enacted in April 1957. This Act enabled low caste Tamil people of the northern province to acquire an education and was opposed by the Vellahla Tamils. It also shows the Jaffna connections to Tamil Nadu through Vaiko even in the earlier times. It is even more apparent now that the Caste Wars of Tamil Nadu also are being transferred to Lanka via illegal migrants. Can a small island like ours afford this massive onslaught and survive ?
Given the lengths that the Caste Wars of the North can escalate to, spreading and engulfing the whole island via perhaps the JVP, plus involving the International Community, and India via Tamil Nadu, isn’t it imperative that “We the the rest of the People of Lanka” (about 95% of the population) protect ourselves by banning Ethnic based political parties, plus religion based political parties ? Allow only National parties. As it is, Lanka has over 100 registered political parties. This seems absurd to me. Limit the number to some sane figure like 20. Those that do not win a required number of seats within, say, a period of 10 yrs. should be automatically deleted from Register.
Caste troubles can be erased through a good Education system, teaching of the Core Truths in every religion, and the Development of the infrastructure. There is no other peaceful way of doing it.
The Buddha said : “one is high born or low born only through one’s own actions”. That is the best & truest life standard to apply in Lanka.

them even they have good education for all. Because they support and lead the Thamileelam. Even they succes or not aim of some Tamils are lead the Tamils wherever they live. Those Tamils who seek to de-stabilise our Development program in Sri Lanka through their caste based politics abroad are small in number compared with the numbers of people in Lanka who want to live in peace with each other. Generally, in all things Democratic, the larger number wins, always. “Truth wins” says the Indian flag. I agree. However long it takes, Truth wins.
Sooner we ban ethnic based (& religion based) political parties, the better for us all. Caste based domination/politics abroad will be forced to fade away.
The sooner we judge people only by their Actions, the sooner caste issues will fade away.

Although Johnpulle exposes the caste problem which is the root cause of the problem he also blames the government for making use of it. We don’t know the intentions of SWRD Bandaranaike in bringing the 1957 Act. He may have been driven by noble intentions or he may not. Either way it worked for the country.
Another writer is Dr Sebastian Rasalingam. He has repeatedly stated that he and many others like him could get an education thanks to these laws.
I searched the Tamil-Tamil riots given in the article. They are genuine. Many websites, all of them by Tamils, admit to those riots. Tamil-Tamil riots started more than 50 years before Tamil-Sinhala riots. Therefore the latter was waiting to happen.
Standardisation issue can be fully understood within this caste and province mentality of Vellahla Tamils. If you look at the numbers before and after standardisation, Tamil student percentage actually increased in universities after standardisation. But Vellahla Tamil percentage reduced. If you have Tamil friends from the east, upcountry or Vanni who went to university during the 1970s they will tell you how spiteful the Vellahlas were against them following standardisation.
I agree with Thurai. Even educated Tamils maintain they very strong caste discrimination wherever they live.
Actually what I have come to realize is Vellahla Tamils are more comfortable with Sinhalese than with so called low caste, Batticaloa or upcountry Tamils.
We have to make use of these divisions economically, politically and socially to get Vellahla Tamils to agree with us using both carrots and sticks.

Settling Sinhalese in Jaffna is much easier than settling non-Vellahla Tamils. But it has to be done carefully within HSZs first with Sinhala schools and community centres. Otherwise they will be consumed. Settling non-Vellahla Tamils should also happen concurrently.

Re areas-wise devolution of power, each of the Indian states is huge compared to ENTIRETY of tiny Sri Lanka (25,000 sq.mls) . These are the areas of Tamil Nadu and its adjoining states :
– Tamil Nadu : 50,216 sq.miles (twice as large as Lanka)
– Andrapradesh : 106,195 sq.mls. (four times larger than Lanka)
– Kerala: 15,000 sq.mls. (entire Lanka:state of Kerala ratio is 5:3)
– Karnataka: 74,051 sq.mls. (three times the size of Lanka)
How can we ever compare the way the states of India are governed with governance in Sri Lanka, when the ENTIRE country of Lanka measures only 25,000 sq.miles ?
Almost every state in India is larger than the ENTIRE country of Lanka.

If our law enforcement and legal system has been functioning as it is intended, it would also be a help to avert this situation of running to outside agencies. It would have also helped in our social and economic progress as well due to the prevalence of integrity and promotion of honest and productive acticities .

JVP and TNA both should be banned for treason, sabotage and distruption of public life on daily basis. We cannot afford another insurrection or terrorism in our Motherland at any cost. People needs security and protection to go on with their daily lives. Ordinary people knows very well about these two factions and they will never support their ambitions. The Government when they have the majority in the parliament must change old laws and make new laws to punish these traitors to the Motherland. All sorts of criminal activities and International God fathers who give them funds should be monitored and kept close watch by the Goverment. Do not allow all kinds of NGO’s from abroad to come and poison our population again. Tough laws tough action is a must to avoid another dark era.

These “foreign” countries are the West and India.
When it comes to issues of the Island nation I see most of the www is aginst the West but hardly any against India.
It is British made India India that has been the enemy of the Island nation.

Yes the way that Indian Central Government gave into TamillNadu Tamils, and in even not only refused to sell us much needed arms and ammunitions during the heat of the military operations against the Terrorist, and warning us not to purchase them from China, selling us an out dated radar detector which failed to detect the miniscule terrorist planes that did considerable damage by bombing the airport, it seems evident for us looking from outside the Government to conclude that India was secretly with expansionist interests, or openly to please the Tamilnadu “jokers” , was indirectly helping the terrorists to set up their Tamil Homeland and stop the Sri Lanka Government Forces from eliminating the terrorists.
But the government’s not accepting this fact, and paying tribute to India for winning in the military operations against the terrorist, must have a reason. Because both the Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the President have a conviction of the necessity of what they are doing. They are exceptional people with such great determination and confidence in what they say and what they do, we seem to be wrong in our coming to our conclusions about India.
Both the Defence Secretary and the President have some reason unknown to us, for acting the way they do.
They are undoubtedly sincere and honest in their political undertakings, if not they could not have despite a terrible “war” against the terrorists to have carried out all those magnificent development projects to change the face of Sri Lanka from an under developed poor country to one which is forging ahead in a considerable speed towards development and progress in all fields.
They seem to be indefatigable in their effort to take Sri Lanka forward. They have gone beyond our expectations , in economic, social and infrastructure developments.
That gives us confidence , and courage to go through even a rising cost of living as both the Defence Secretary and the President are way ahead in their political thinking and undoubtedly doing the right thing, which makes us think that they have some reason to consider India is friendly, when to us India had been the worst enemy of the Island Nation than the “foreign” Western Countries with their continued aggression with their accusations for violation of human rights and military crimes.

Indian actions are covert and secretive. It is difficult for most of us to understand what Indians are up to.
Leadres of a country cannot confront anotehr countru=y unless there is open aggression.
What I mean the Sinhala masses should rise against India locally and Internationally. The government cannot do that.
Sihalese and supporters of Sinhalese people should stand up to Indian hedgemony.
What I mean is if we browse the www there are lots of Sinhlese or people who clsims to be Sinhalese only criticising the West as imperialists and colonists.
We are the people who should tell the world what India is doing. Sri Lanka government cannot do that.
Hardly any of these Sinhalese criticise the Indians and India.

We cannot antaganise India our closest neighbour. We have to be diplomatic in dealing with India.
But the West has not even a neighbourly connection and they will not hesitate to use the NATO Armed Forces to destroy all that we have built as they care less for the dark skinned people or the culture of the dark skinned people.
That is what they did in Libya where there was no need for such disastrous end. It was the same in Iraq where millions have been killed as a result of American miltary intervention.
Do you think they have any concern for us in case they decide tio intervene ? If India is not angered by us they may at least use their vote in the UN Security Council against such intervention along with, China, Russia and Iran among others.

Please see what Mahinda and Gotabaya told Indian foreign Secretary in 2009 when they ask the government to stop wiping out Indian made Tamil terrorists.
They told the delegation ‘ even if you invade us or drop lentil bombs we will continue our efforts against Tamil terrorists” That was the most important decision ever made by the leaders iof the Island nation.
Stop sucking to Indians.
