The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Dear High Commissioner,

On The Sri Lankan Military Presence In The North and Eastern Provinces

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As a citizen of Sri Lanka please allow me to express my utmost disapproval of your statement expecting the Sri Lankan military presence in the North and Eastern Provinces to resemble other parts of Sri Lanka. First of all, being a sovereign nation Sri Lanka has every right to safeguard her national security. Secondly, Britain has absolutely no right to advice or meddle in the internal affairs of another sovereign nation.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I would also like to inquire if Britain has any intention of reducing its military presence in the following foreign or occupied regions?

  1. Northern Ireland
  2. The Falkland Islands
  3. Akrotiri and Dhekelia of Cyprus
  4. The RAF base at Ascension Island
  5. The Chagos Archipelago from which nearly 2000 native islanders where forcibly evicted from Diego Garcia, Peros Banhos and Salomon in 1971 to make way for a joint US-British military base

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Furthermore if you intend to make use of your post as HC to Sri Lanka, may I suggest holding an inquiry into the numerous past British atrocities committed in Sri Lanka starting from the Uva-Wellassa Genocide of 1818, the Matale Genocide of 1848 and the eviction of innocent Sinhalese people from their land under the guise of the Barren Land Ordinance of 1834 to make way for cash crops (for the profit of the British of course!). The monumental task of calculating the hefty compensation owed by Britain to Sri Lanka for stealing our resources during the colonial occupation from 1815-1948 would be another worthwhile exercise to undertake during your tenure. If Britain can afford to pay it (with a national debt of GBP 1 trillion), then it is most welcome!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Janaka Yagirala

This man Rankin is talking through his back side and that it why he is not able to see how his own country is handling similar situations albeit in foreign lands forcibly occupied and or robbed by them. He is asking that the armed forces deployment in Sri Lanka should be at the same level as that in the rest of the country. These hypocrites should know when not to pollute the air and mind their own business in their own bit of land. Before aiding and abetting terrorism in Sri Lanka for creating Eelam he should take affirmative action to cede Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to their rightful owners.

He conveniently forgets that there was no terrorism related in the rest of the country since 1989 other than those created by Poopaharan and his band of terrorists from the North and East. The Sri Lankan state has to deploy her forces where they are deemed necessary and where there is a likely hood of the re-emergence of terrorism again.

Sampanthan laments that with the military presence there is no normalcy of life in the North and East. He forgets it is the Racist Tamil Terrorists in the North and East that made us increase the strength of the military to the current levels. The eradication of Tiger Terrorism is only 3 years old. Therefore the normalcy for Sri Lanka is to maintain adequate levels of military presence in all areas wherever their presence is called for by the State that suffered for 30 unending years.

It is important that Terrorist cat’s paw and his running dogs in the so called Tamil diaspora understand the mechanics of the New Normalcy of Life in Sri Lanka and get used to it as long as such conditions are called for.

This persona non grata John Rankin must not forget what happened to British High Commissioner David Gladstone in 1991 for interfering in our internal affairs.

There was a demontration by LTTE supporters aginst visit of President`s of SL in London. They are preparing
for the next demontration again for the next visit. At same time Tamils are visiting their relatives in the North and ,east from all over the world . Any single person from a foreign country complained aginst a solidier upto now to
my knowledge. But during the LTTE noone can pass A9 at killinochhi without paying money regularly in foreign
country. They jailed the persons and ask the the total sum (after 20 years visit 20x12x30Euro per month=7200Euro)
British Government and other western countries closed their eyes for the last 30 years and allowed to do LTTE
what they want. How they can ask now remove the Solidiers from north and east.

when the time come they will go back. That depends on the Tamils who live in the north and east and the SLG,not
on the Western countries and the LTTE supporters.

Janaka it’s a good reply to pommie.
If Sri Lanka’s army cannot have their own military bases in their own country where the hell we have to have our defence camps? This MI6 agent thinks that we have to get permission from pommies to have a defence camp in our own country? This is nothing other than 21st Century neo colonial mentality.
Why not Ranking talks of british invaders army camps in Iraq and Afghanistan? On what rights pommies and their cousins U.S, Australia, Canada and NewZealand have to invade independent countries and have military bases. In addition they have bases in Gibraltar and Malta too. Gibraltar either belongs to Morrocco or Spain but still pommies occupy it by force. Malta is another looted island by british invaders.
Seems this man thinks that Sri Lanka is still feudal woman Elizabeth’s farm land? He should understand he is just another Diplomat or MI6 agent but not the governor of Sri Lanka. Pommie still think he lives in 15th century land looters and invaders era.

Statements like what Rankin has made is purely due to the obnoxious arrogance of the British. They know they can make statements like this and get away with them so long as the sri lankan leaders go with the begging bowl to whoever whereever.

The British seem to forget that they are just another country in the west leaning to the US for military strength, begging the Chinese for loans and no longer the Great British Empire of the past. But the likes of Rankin can be compared to the Mervin Silvas of the third world. There are many of them. Talking about the LTTE being a banned organisation in the UK, the photos from the most recent Tamil demo to commemorate the “Wipeout of LTTE Day in UK” shows an abundance of LTTE flags. Is Rankin sleeping or talking through his “Unwashed dirty fish and soggy chip smelling backside” to not see obvious evidence of the LTTE in the UK during these and other such demos.

The president need to tell him to shut up and get out without interfering with what does not concern the British. Afterall Sri Lanka (during Premadasa’s time)did that to a former British High Commissioner for shooting off his mouth.

Israel considering the Sri Lankan solution to terrorists.

Sri Lanka should follow the Israeli solution of dividing the so called Palestine into Gaza and West Bank without proper direct connection between the two.

The 2 largest Tamil districts Jaffna and Batticaloa must be separated as much as possible through settling Sinhalese and Muslims in the interim area.

    Excellent examples.

Lankan leaders should highlight these very same examples to British colonial meddlers.

  8. mjaya Says:

Well done patriotic community! The backlash against the comments made by this colonial imbecile has made a mark.

“Sri Lanka: UK envoy’s military comments cause stir” Zee News
“British envoy causes stir over Lankan military remarks” Deccan Herald

    Keep up the good work!!!!!

  9. mjaya Says:

As long as we patronize (and pay millions for) British junk qualifications hardly worth a penny from bankrupt money hungry British institutions they will continue to think of themselves as the pompous “masters” of our country. Unlike the foolish campaign to boycott free GMail and Google, boycotting British junk qualifications will leave a significant dent on a billion pound garbage industry.

They have stated in no ambiguous terms that Rankin must be dealt with in the same manner as David Gladstone in 1991.

  11. Dham Says:

    Mjaya,
I too guilty of in posession of such “hard to get” one. It is that sheer Tanha that keeps not f’offing this junk.
Must consider writing a letter to stop behaving like thughs bullying other contries or we shall stop contributing to billion pound sakkili industry.
