LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s former arms procurer and international Financial Controller Kumaran Pathmanathan charged the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) of misleading the Tamil youth in the country, including former combatants. Speaking exclusively to The Nation Pathmanathan alias KP, who once supported the LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s cause for a separate state, said the TNA and a section of the Tamil Diaspora were provoking and misleading the youth, thereby affecting the reconciliation process carried out by the government.

He warned such irresponsible actions would only widen the gap between the communities of Sri Lanka. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-If you look at Tamil politicians, the TNA is trying to mislead the youth with false propaganda. It is these former combatants who are affected by such acts,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ he said.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The TNA recently demanded the release of what they termed as political prisoners, who were detained without being charged.

Pathmanathan affirmed that the government was committed to release the remaining former combatants but added the negative propaganda by the likes of TNA delayed the process.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The government will only lose confidence if these politicians continue provoking the youth, calling them for protests and satyagraha creating unrest. The government is concerned about the future of the ex-combatants and is very particular that they are not misled by these elements once they are released,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ he said. Pathmanathan however could not respond when asked whether he accepted the governmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s claims that there were no political prisoners in the country. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-I cannot respond to that question. Because, I never expected that I would be in a position like this at the time I was arrested. I never thought that I would be given this kind of opportunity to serve my people. This is a new era where an opportunity has arisen for all people to live in harmony.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

According to Mr. Mahindapala’s series of articles. Since 13th century, Tamils had problems of being together because of the caste problems and some tamils moving away and rebelling against the system. That needed tamils killing tamils and looking for some outside force as the culprit.

Because of that, some other stimulus is needed in order to keep the tamils together.

In that situation, Sinhala people or Sinhala – govt in the south are a good outside stimulus to keep tamils together. The bottom line is to unite tamils under the existing caste system.

Because of the very reason, Sri lankan govt should reach to tamils directly. Should reach to low caste tamils far far more than to high caste vellalas.

    Are Tamil youth so gullible?

Government should win over the low caste Tamils at the expense of high caste Tamils and use them against misled Tamils.

    Lingam machang,
If so I can’t be “modaya” but I am a “modaya” as you say.

May be so. But I like to be modaya than to suicide. Also I know you accepted being a LTTE contributor previously, so you too cannot change, still a LTTE wearing Sihna skin.

Look we should forgive people. Even to Prabhakara I must forgive, as long as he truly accepted his mistakes and become a monk.
Angulimala in Buddha’s time killed 999 people personally but because a monk and got enlightened.
