The Chatter House news item, Anti-terrorism program gets $8 million, has left me confused.  It said “Mr. Baird (Foreign Minister) said the new funds would go to a program aimed at helping other countries fight terrorism through better training, equipment, and technical assistance.”

And yet,  Mr. Baird and his Conservative Government doesn’t seem to be happy that Sri Lanka, with no help from Canada, wiped out militarily the Tamil Tiger terrorists, who were the authors and perfected the suicide body pack for suicide bombers which was detonated 388 times in Sri Lanka killing politicians and hundreds of innocent civlians in this ugly  27 years long terrorist war, where over 100,000 innocent people were killed, for the want of a mono-ethnic, racist, separate Tamil State, Eelam.

Now they are damning  the Sri Lankans for just doing that and making a big fuss saying that the Sri Lanka government presonnel are war criminals, as if the world has witnessed a war where no one got killed on either side while trying to win a war.

When it comes to actions how Sri Lanka went about eliminating this scoruge of Tamil terrorism, the most ruthless in the world, the Canadian government doesn’t seem to be happy and lambasts the Sri Lankan Government at every turn.  Do I semll a rat here?

Good on you Asoka Weerasinghe for applying pressure on these double talking Canadian Politicians. It is clear that a handful of Western Politicians are envious of the fact that the the SriLankan security forces were able to eliminate the Tamil Tiger war criminals, with the support of non-Western nations.
It is also known, that a handful of corrupt but influencial western politicians, journlists and NGO leaders would shamelessly kneel down in front of wealthy individuals and groups, to get a share of their illgotten funds. The LTTE diaspora is one such group.
