ISN’T JULY 1983 RIOTS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE FOR HALF A MILLION TAMILS LIVING IN THE WESTERN WORLD?
Posted on July 16th, 2012

The LTTE rump of the Tamil Diaspora is supposed to be getting ready  to commemorate the “So called Black July 1983″ during the coming weekend (21 and 22nd July)  in all big cities in  Canada, UK, USA, Switzerland, Norway, EU Countries and Australia in their continuation of humiliating Sri Lanka and specially the Sinhalese community. Of course, they may even bring the message of War Crimes against Sri Lanka though it is irrelevant with 1983 riots. There will be big dramas created with their demos, arrogant speeches, moaning, weeping crying and doing every possible thing to attract the western gullible politicians who rely on Tamil votes for their survival and the well oiled western media by LTTE funds , and Humanitarian organizations like Amnesty International (who received $50,000 from a Canadian Tamil Front) and INGOs who cough for a fistful of dollars.

This has become a ritual every year for the LTTE, LTTE supporters among the Tamil Diaspora to raise funds for their Eelam project albeit the war is ended. The LTTE rump still needs funds to buy the politicians, media, so called humanitarian organizations in the western world for their propaganda for Eelam project. The NGOs, Peace vultures and INGOs make this a ritual to annihilate Sinhala Buddhists for their financial survival.   Instead of healing the wound, this annual ritual is digging deep into the wounds to humiliate the  tolerant Sinhala Buddhists by the above mentioned groups. Sinhala majority have manifested more than once that such an event will never happen again ( and never happened) by tolerating the LTTE atrocities in silence. When Buddhists most sacred temple “Sri Dalada Maligawa” was bombed, when Buddhist worshippers including young and old women and men , children observing Sil were gunned down by LTTE at “Sri Maha Bodhiya”, when LTTE killed 39 young Buddhists priests on a pilgrimage to Arantalawa, did the Sinhala majority take law into their hands and repeated 1983 ? DEFINTELY.NO. They never got provoked and retaliated but restrained from taking law into their own hands and tolerated the LTTE  barbaric acts silently. But that doesn’t mean that Sinhalese are timid but tolerant people.

Sri Lankans without any reservations condemned  this unfortunate event in July 1983 and all Presidents have made public apologies  for what happened. But yet it continues to be commemorated by the media supporting the Tamils, Tamil Diaspora in countries where they have spread their tentacles in an attempt to humiliate Sinhalese. Very little is spoken about how the Sinhala people risked their lives and helped the Tamil families at the riots.

It”ƒ”¹…”s an accepted fact that the Black July incident was not a riot by Sinhalese against Tamils but committed by politically motivated thugs. Thugs are paid mercenaries and may belong to any ethnic group. However, the fact remains that this incident was a blessing in disguise to many Tamils who were not affected also to seek political asylum and refugee status in affluent countries. According to official figures 471 Tamils were killed, 8077 of their houses burnt 3385 cases of looting and 53 Tamil prisoners were murdered during the period July 22- July 30 1983. But, however  one cannot fathom in proportionate to the numbers killed and houses burnt, how come over half  a million Tamils found refugee in affluent countries like Canada, UK, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Australia , USA to name a few. Isn’t this a blessing in disguise for those who sought refugee in the western world ? In fact commemorating the July 1983 riots appears as  a show of gratitude for giving them a better life in the western world than moaning for the dead.? Because LTTE killed more Tamils including Tamil political leaders than the number of Tamils died in the riots. The Tamil Diaspora should moan for them.

Let me remind those who harp on the 1983 July Riots, the atrocities committed by LTTE terrorists over the years against innocent civilians. Starting with Pettah Bomb in 1987 killing over hundred and maiming almost 300; massacre of 127 Sinhala men and women, children  in Kitulwatte and murder of about  200 Sinhalese and Muslim civilians in the Eastern province within a week; massacre of Kent & Dollar farmers; Suicide bomb attack on  Central Bank  killing over hundred and maiming 1500 ; massacre of bus load of  Buddhist monks in Arantalawe; massacre of over hundred Muslims prayers in a mosque, are only a few of an exhaustive list of atrocities committed by LTTE. Unfortunately, no print or electronic media both within and outside Sri Lanka talk about these killings but continue to commemorate so-called 1983 July riots every year. When you think of the innocent people killed in July riots, please focus your attention also to the thousands of innocent civilians killed by LTTE.

If Sinhalese have to commemorate killings of innocent civilians by the Tamil terrorist outfit LTTE over the years, 365 days of the year is insufficient as it runs into thousands of incidents and not just one like July 24. Yet no media, NGOs, writers speak about these killings.

I reiterate the fact the July riots was a blessing in disguise for the completely unaffected Tamils who sought refugee status in the most affluent countries taking advantage of the then situation. Sadly, they constituted the hard core of the  Tamil Diaspora, financing and raising funds to procure arms, providing war logistics and propaganda for LTTE before LTTE was militarily defeated.. The Tamil Diaspora has been using this incident to raise funds for LTTE for the last 25 years and continue to do so now to finance  LTTE’s Eelam project. It is high time that the Tamil politicians in Sri Lanka and the Tamil Diaspora stopped this annual ritual and bury the incident once and for all just as much Sinhala Buddhists (not of timidity) have buried the acts of barbarism by LTTE in bombing “ƒ”¹…”Dalada Maligawa’, Sri Maha Bodhiya and massacre of 39 monks etc and now moving towards reconciliation. Let us bury the hatchet once and for all.

At present, if Tamils are not doing well in Sri Lanka, how come they can afford to give multi-lakh charges to smuggle out of the country. These Tamils who sail to Christmas island are not from Wellawaththa. All are from the North and East.

MALIN !!! The Tamil LTTE Diaspora Rump can now be equated to a Barber Salon, that provides service every three weeks for a Hair Cut. It is an on going thing, and money flows into the boxes every month. Thamil Chelvam graduated from the Barber Salon, to talk on Human Rights, and 1983 incidents were the topic of study for the Diaspora Barbers, So atrocities could be the main subject to propogate, within the Barber Salon. The money flows into the coffers. These can be doled out to the WHITE IMBECLILES To cough out unsavoury words towards the Sinhales and the Government of Sri Lanka. THESE TAMIL SCUMBAGS MAKES IT AN ANNUAL RITUAL TO GIVE MEDIA OPUBLICITY IN THE COUNTRIES CoNCERNED,

SRI LANKAN DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO SAY, ORGANISE AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR THR SRI MAHABHODI MASASSACRE and depict the atrocities commited by the TAMIL TIGERS,

I personally feel that all the ATROCITIES COMMITTED BUY THE LTTE SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED ANNUALLY EVERY YEAR, SO that the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES TOO SHOUD BE EDUCATED ON WHAT HAPPENED, IT IS THE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT WHO SHOULD TAKE THE INITIATIVE. The commemorations have to be in the exact spots where the Atrocities were committed, for examples, PADDAVIYA MASSACRE SHOULD BE IN PADAVIYA. The Sinhalese are slow in organising such events due to the lack of financial resources.
TAMILS HAVE A TREASURY FROM WHICH THEY CAN DRAW IN THOUSANDS,

THE GOVERNMENT FILM DEPARTMENT SHOULD PUT TOGETHER FOOTAGES, STILLS, VIDEOS AND ALL ATROCITIES COMMITTED, to reflect the brutal nature of the TAMILS espousing Terrorism.

This the way this Tamils won’t reconciliation, thy expecting only from one side, this pepole clapping from one hand, dead Tamil only reconciliation with Sri Lanka.

  4. samaraweera Says:

Into the list of atrocities committed by the LTTE we should also add the 6oo policemen who were killed after their surrender on a request by the govt. As the writer says the crimes committed by the terrorists are ignored by the Human Rights activists, NGO’s and so on because of the LTTE Funds they get. On top of this there are terror backers among politicians in Sri Lanka who plan to bring down the govt supporting the West who want a change of govt.

It is unfortunate that we have to keep bringing up the 1983 Riots, but bring it up we must, as it has elements in it yet not evident to the public. Also, this incident is kept alive by the Ltte Supporting Tamils (LST) abroad for their own survival and importance in various countries.

1983 was NOT a spontaneous outbreak of violence. It was a planned event. We have gone through this information before, but we wish someone/groups knowledgeable on the matter would piece all the events together and put out a book, write analytical articles, make films, write short stories, put out photos of the 1983 Riots, and lay the matter to rest. Take the 1983 Riots out of the cupboards and air it often as a warning never to fall into traps laid by others. Also have a permanent exhibition of photos etc. on the ltte Atrocities in Sri Lanka. All these activities should be done in all three main languages in Sri Lanka.

Beware Lankans that we are not subjected to another outbreak like the 1983 Riots. Tropical heat plus Frustrations are a deadly combination, like sparks on dry bush. On the other side are the Vellala managed Tamil caste/poverty problems.

Riots such as 1983 can come in again disguised as ‘Sinhala version of Arab Spring’ – be aware Lanka, there are many a trap for the unwary. Do all protest ONLY in within acceptable Democratic norms. No killing, no destruction of government property.

  6. A. Sooriarachi Says:

I dont see this as an event for remembering the victims of 1983. This is more a display of the LTTE diaspora celebrating the atrocities they committed over three decades through their agents the LTTE. These pathetic individuals will try to console themselves by doling out money to make others talk and write distorted versions of the true situation just to uplift their waning egos. However much they try to whitewash their crimes, the LTTE diaspora will surely expose their true selves by simply carrying the traumatising blood soaked Tiger flag under which so many heinous crimes have been committed against SriLankans. Liberating the country from this “Norway defined undefeatable” LTTE monsters and regaining the right to live in peace, is what makes President Rajapakse one of the great SriLankan leaders in its long history.
As for LTTE wealth for which there are many takers amongst the politicians, journalists and NGOs, amassing such a wealth is something decent and honest citizens cannot achieve, as the modus operandi is to employ the underworld methods used by the Mafioso. We cant stoop to such levels.

moving towards reconciliation. Let us bury the hatchet once and for all- OK agrred but where is the political settlment !!! where is the 13, 13 plus ………………

  9. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

You say : “but now We Tamil have Nanthikadal (Mullivaikal) incident for another 29 years!!!”.

Nanthikadal is a highly justifiable act. It is a Lesson Learnt by all. Terrorist leaders have been removed all over the world. Sri Lanka is no exception.
Be thankful for removal of ltte terror – ltte itself killed more Tamils than any others. Ltte has given a bad reputation to Tamil people all over the world with killings, cheating on money, ruthless destructive demonstrations, corrupt practices, etc. – you name it ltte has done it.

It is very unfortunate that Sri Lankans did not wake up to what was going on under their very noses for a long time, the killing of poor Sinhala villagers were done by the ltte (597 innocent villagers), plus various atrocities against all the Others numbering in thousands of deaths, destruction of property, cheat & deceit, etc.

We have lost our innocent ways. Childhood has ended for all Sri Lankans.
Tamil People, choose your leaders wisely on their past performance in public service and good character. Caste based choices such as Prabhakaran and TNA will not work any more, either for Tamils or for the rest of Lanka.

What the illegal immigrant says is true. Now they have another begging bowl – May 2009.

That’s how it works. A parasite MUST find a host to feed upon. When one host is bled out, it needs to find a fresh one.

That is why we should NOT CARE about Tamil grievances, aspirations, homelands, etc. They are never ending.

    They breed like Tamils unfortunately.

  13. M.S.MUDALI Says:

Now the Sinhala modayas realize the DOLLAR power created by the Tamils overseas. Why did this fool Malin not mention anyting how the 1983 riots was planned and organized by the Sinhala goons and Buddhist Monks who collected addresses of Tamils from the electoral datas? Are these Sinhala fools now crying that the riots were done by Tamils with the support Buddhist Monks and UNP?

Why did not the Sinhala fools never called for an inquiry and arrest the criminals involved in the riots? That time Sinhal Modayas thought they are majority and kill and molest Tamils. Now only realise the money power of the Tamils who went to the west.

What are the Sinhala modays still want? Tamils must be slaves or second class. That era passed! Now Internationalized Tamil problem needs solutions from the Sinhalese.

So, dont cry with jeolous about the Tamils who left the shores forever.

  14. Lorenzo Says:

    Mu-Dalit,

Dumbo, Tamil addresses were BEST known to Tamils!!

The Tamil community cries in PAIN AND SHAME for the DIRTY livelihoods of the Tamil Diaspora.

    e.g.
    Credit card fraud
    drug dealing
    terrorist money collection
    human smuggling
    toilet cleaning
    drain cleaning
    prostitution
    smuggling gold
    a***licking Clinton
    rioting
    acid throwing
    gang violence
    overstaying visa
    stock market fraud

ANY major fraud around the world, there is Tamil Diaspariah involved!

  15. lingamAndy Says:

    Lorenzo
also please include these hard earning unskilled work as well
    1) 24 hours petrol station job
    2) night super market filling / security jops
    3) cheap pay odd job in -10c snow…
    4) all dirty cleaning , house job… low pay (less than minimum pay) ….

    why this KOLAVERI mate………

  16. lingamAndy Says:

    Lorenzo
I am not agreeing with MS Mudali but point i want to make is….
    Why
    1) JRJ did chase out us (1983 refugees )from mother lanka.. ( he did not closed kaddunayake airport -only one way out)
    2) why our govt not sending any minister(Tamil or muslim) to TN regugees camp to bring back all 150,000 Srilankan born people (send our law officers to investicate latest 6 year old girl raped & killed- our govt why not sending )
    3) why a top minister ( Mr Basil Rajajapaksa ) not meeting those who are tring to go to Australi illigal boat (risking their life)?

My chinhala brother we both know very well the answer !!!! We Tamil know very well chinhalavan never be modaya !!!!

  17. Lorenzo Says:

    NO WAY!

We should NOT bring those Tamils from Tamil Nadu. They are in THEIR HOME. Don’t disturb them.

India should take all “Indian Tamils” back.

Tamils are cruel to Tamils. How many Tamil kids were abused by the LTTE? Thailvar had 100 Tamil girls attending to him. Mathivathani 100 boys. Criminals. It should be corrected WITHIN the Tamil society. If this is how Tamils treat each other, others are scared to have them in their country!

I don’t mind boats leaving SL. What I don’t like is they reaching Australia. They should leave SL but NOT reach anywhere!

  18. lingamAndy Says:

    Lorenzo
Ref: Tamils are cruel to Tamils, BUT you are wastern than them !
They should leave SL but NOT reach anywhere!!!

My Chinhala brother M.S.MUDALI answered all your quetions !!!

fyi, VP never touched any woman expecoed Mathivathani ( after weared Thali to her – ie: after mariied her in present of KP- ask KP if you are not sure )!!!

  19. M.S.MUDALI Says:

Lorenzo have no SINHALA in his blood and he think bashing Tamils will make him a Sinhala hero. I hope Sinhalese trusted JRJ of Malayali descent and became defamed. Lorenzo is in fear of his History will be discovered and asked to join the catogory of Kallathonis.

Becareful about this kind of PARANGIS from Colombo.

Tamils are involved in crimes. I never deny it. In the past I mentioned them here. What about Sinhala criminals? “Amare” or Kudu Duminda? Tamils are punished for their crimes but Sinhala criminals? Sinhala criminals enjoy protection from powerful people. DHARMA DHWEEPA is now on the path of colonial Portugeuse.

Further crimes of the Tamils outside of Sri Lanka cannot be a concern for anyone lives in Sri Lanka. Fool Lorenzo cries Sri Lanka is following all the rules of law and ruled honestly. Colombo based Sinhalese or mixed population is well trained for centuries in all kind of frauds and crimes.

We know well how Kelani Rajamahavehara became the place of planning murders and crimes by Wijewardene family. Wimala Wijewardene who was the AUNTY of Ranil Wickramasinghe, was sleeping with the criminal Buddha Rakita. They killed a true patriot SWRD Bandaranayake to serve the WHITE christians.

Colombo based politics always a criminal politics. Even shifting the capital to Hambantota is a best choice to get rid of these criminals who were brought in by Portugeuse and other Colonial masters.

  20. Lorenzo Says:

    Mu-Dalit,

Pure bred Tamils support Sinhalese. Only ill-bred Tamils don’t.

Tamil criminality is on an INTERNATIONAL SCALE!!

Domestically too they are the WORST.

    e.g. Terrorism

  21. Dham Says:

    MuU Dalit,

No criminality and politics can match you good uncle Prabhakarans brainless, barbaric, cold blooded murders.

Don’t be to obsessd with Sinhala names and your malayali connection theories. Just talk peace and get along with Sinhalese and Parangis.
