ASYLUM SEEKERS – GOOD RIDDANCE OF THE BAD RUBBISH (GROBR)

Over the last few weeks, Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has intercepted eight boats heading towards AustraliaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with almost 600 asylum seekers arrested including the smugglers. But still not good enough for the Ausralain High Commissioner Robyn Mudie. She has hinted at the failure of SLN when she met the SLN Commander Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake and asking the SLN to step up action to put an end to the human smuggling when SLN is doing its best to assist Australian Government in arresting the problem. This attitude of the Australian HC demoralises the SLN . There is hardly any ground or logistical supportsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ from the Australian Government to the SLN but she was in a jiffy to blame the SLN for not doing the best. She should appreciate that SLN is trying its best with a very limited resources available to arrest the boats leaving with illegal immigrants. It is impossible for the Sri Lanka Navy to lay a safety net right around the island 24/7, 365 days.
What happens to those boats with asylum seekers that have slipped away from NavyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s hawk eyes? The irony is that the Australian Navy is already in the mid seas to extend aƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ RED CARPET to welcome the asylum seekers and put them temporarily into the detention camps pending granting of various types of Visas. There will be Greenies and some ALP supporters crying and weeping for them like Sarah Ferguson Hanson. There is LTTE Diaspora working day and night to support these Asylum seekers advising how to lie to the authorities. The more they have Tamil asylum seekers, more opportunities for the LTTE Diaspora to fatten their coffers. Then comes the humanitarian advocates (without the asylum seekers, they will be out of jobs) and reps from various Christian churches to support the asylum seekers with the intention of converting them to their faith. I personally know a few Sinhala and Tamil Sri Lankans who changed their religions and became Christians as show of gratitude for taking their cases and getting them Visa. These are ammunitions for the Human smugglers to convince the would be asylum seekers from Sri Lanka to get into a boat heading towards Australia after payment as almost $20000 to $120,000 for each person.
The only Tamil who was deported Dayan Antony last week exposed every one of them in his address to the press. (Refer UTube in Daily Mirror on 27/7/2012) He said that the common story advised by the LTTE Tamil Diaspora and the other interested partiesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is that the asylum seekers are being hounded by the GoSL in order to get sympathy of Australian authorities. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Most recently, the police arrested three smugglers including a TNA politician who had been directly involved in smuggling 82 persons in two vessels (Namo Maria and Sinhale ) on July 11 and another 53 persons on July 20 to Christmas Islands.
Investigations revealed the suspects had charged between Rs 200,000 to Rs 1,200,000 from each person. Where does this money come from? It is alleged that LTTE rump is involved in human smuggling and this has been further confirmed after the arrest of these three persons. So there you are. So why blame the Sri Lankan Navy? The Australian Government should bear the brunt of it as itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s the Australian Government, the politicians, humanitarian advocates, churches who entice the would be asylum seekers and giving the Human smugglers ample ammunitions to convince them to part with their money.
I personally think that we should not worry much about these asylum seekers. They are the undesirables (mostly involved in big and petty crimes), expertise in various credit card scams, drug trafficking and all the criminal activities one can name. We should allow them to leave this now peaceful island as itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s a Good Riddance of the Bad Rubbish (GROBR). We are getting rid of many social problems too. Sri Lankans or the Sri Lankan authorities should not have any qualms about it. We must thank Australian Government for accepting part of our problems. These Asylum Seekers both Tamils, Sinhalese (Any Muslims recorded among them ?) will go outƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to humiliate the Sri Lankan Government with lies after lies like the deported asylum seeker who has admitted that he did the same thing to convince the Australian Authorities. Yet he failed but he is happy to be back in Sri Lanka. Before he was deported, some politicians,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ humanitarianƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ advocates, churches and LTTE Diaspora tried to stop his deportation saying that he will be tortured and perhaps be killed. At the press conference he said that he was never tortured by the CID instead escorted to the 4th floor for a friendly chat with Nescafe and subsequently released.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is a blessing in disguise for Sri Lanka as we are getting rid of the undesirables and criminals where the Australian authorities are ever willing to accept them.
Let the Sri Lanka Navy look the other side when it sees boats leaving our shores with Asylum Seekers and let the Australian HC find a better solution than the SLN to handle this problem in the same manner she handled the Australian illegal immigrant with expired visa who was escorted to board a plane to Australia.

Australia was colonized by similar people in the 19th century. Britain saw Australia as a dumping ground of it’s crimianals and prisoners. SL should think the same way.

The government(better Defence Secretary) should actively pursue to obtain the names of so called Sri Lankan refugees from countries where they land, either by sea or air, to arrest them at the Bandaranayake International Airport and deport them immediately, when they return to the island for ‘holidays’. GOSL should also establish identifications through video footage of Tamil agitators, especially the Diaspora, just like the ones we saw in London recently and sent them back if they return to the island. Why do they want to return to a country where they will be persecuted or killed? This diabolical statement, a lie, is made by every asylum seeker to Australia and other countries to get categorised as ‘a refugee’, deceiving these Australian fools, like the stupid Hanson. This is the card played by Tamil Diaspora too, to help their kith and kin. In fact most Tamils and who ever others, leave Sri Lanka not for reasons of injustice, discrimination or persecution but to enter countries like Australia and Canada, period, through the backdoor. Tamils will be welcome in Tamil Nadu if they really want to leave Sri Lanka. In fact the Sri Lankan Tamils in Nadu are now returning to Sri Lanka, according to latest reports! These crooked pathological liars should be deported if they are detected at the airport, to teach them a costly lesson. Immigration authorities should be far more vigilant armed with ids and info about Tamil refugees and Diaspora.

Well said Sunil. These traitors should never be allowed to set foot in Sri Lanka again.Those countries who gave asylum to these murderers and thugs can have them and hopefully will pay for their stupidity.
As for Robyn Mudie, the Sri Lankan government should tell her it is the incompetent Australian government immigration policies and their unconditional support for the LTTE terrorist that is encouraging these economic refugees. Unless the Australian government proscribe the LTTE in Australia, the Sri Lankan government should not make any effort to stop these criminals leaving the country.

We are running face recognition system at the moment at Katunayakea airport that is link to a video database… Still early stages but will get there and I have done similar system in US, HK and Aust.

Navy must ask money from Robyn Hood.
We are poor third world country. We treat all citizens equal ( you can visit around Lanka and see for yourself).
We will stop if we see boats but we cannot spend too much because there is no benifit to us. The benifit is to you, so, please pay $50000 per head caught. Give her the invoice now (50000x 700 = $105 million within 1 month !).
You can also advertise in the Lankan newspapers that anyone mistrerted should complain to Australian High Commision in Colombo. Then you can open a counter to consider them for refugee status, here in Colombo. Don’t charge hefty sums from these poor mistreated cretures. Just do it for humanity Robin Hood .

The new Australian High Commissioner’s Ms Mudie’s performance in Colombo has been rather poor so far. She is either inexperienced and or is playing games.
Sri Lanka need to monitor her activities very closely since Australia still has not banned the LTTE, thereby, not only allowing itself to be a haven for LTTE terrorists as well as Tamil economic migrants claiming to running from torture, but Australia is also open to those Australian’s who though lower ranked in their respective establishments, are projecting themselves as saviours of these bogus refugees, obviously expecting if not already receiving huge benefits from the LTTE diaspora.
Today the Australian Green’s Party have not done only one thing to help these bogus refugees. That is they are yet to print invitation cards to be sent out to potential SriLankan illicit migrants in waiting. Ms Muddie if genuine, should blame the Green’s and Australian NGO’s and not the SriLankan Navy. To the credit of the present Australian Govt, though they too are afraid to ban the Tiger terrorists and have made many blunders resulting in inadvertant encouragement to bogus refugees, the Govt has now come out with a brilliant solution in proposing all new boat people should be sent to the back of the queue of refugees already in Malaysia. Fearing the implementation of this solution, all the Human smugglers are hard at work trying to beat it and making it even more difficult for the SriLankan Navy.

Great work Sirih, well done! keep up the good work. We must catch the crookes (everyone of them) using technology and send them back, as we did with the Ch4. Tamil woman. Australia tries to be ‘special’ always when it comes to decisions taken by international community, especially their brethren US and UK, not following them. Basically these are idiots with their rigid, regimental mentality, including the journalists, imported from 18th Century British, on which I have written to many politicians at various levels of government. The previous government was right to turn back the boats but the current pundits thought that was violating human rights, and now blame other governments not taking enough measures to arrest the boat before they leave. A Tall order. Let the Australian government finance the operation by the Sri Lankan Navy to intercept boats or donate more speedy vessels to Navy.
