Dear Minister Kenney,

The information received by me was that this meeting was held not with the Sri Lankan media but with the Pro LTTE Tamils who have been pressing for aƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ separateƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ state in Sri Lanka. And only Tamils were allowed at this meeting and not a single Sinhala Canadian was allowed.

I also understand that Mr. Raghvan Paranchothy was also present at this meeting, of whom there was much debate during the election, in an article headed by the Globe and Mail.

I am concerned by this meeting which has been held in secret, if there is some sort of deal that you are having with them.

This has become a great concern among the Sri Lankan Canadians as such a high level meeting with only the Tamils Canadians should take place in Hilton, as we have been supporters of the Party, even when it was still in the opposition. And we had warned you of the agenda behind these Tamils.

Yours sincerely,

~Mal Munasinha

Subject: Statement regarding media roundtable on January 26, 2013

Ottawa, January 30, 2013 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” On January 26th the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, held a news conference with Sri Lankan media in Toronto to discuss details of his recent visit to Sri Lanka, and his presentation to local media in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

A recent press release states that members of the Sri Lankan community were prevented from attending a roundtable discussion. This is not accurate. Unfortunately, non-media organizations were misinformed that this was a public roundtable event, and that is why they were unable to participate.

The presentation was identical to the one given to local media in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on January 7, 2013. Topics include: recent changes to CanadaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s asylum system, the dangers of human smuggling operations, and recent efforts to preserve the integrity of CanadaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s immigration system by cracking down on criminal human smugglers.

    Jason Kenny,

Can you please show us a video of this so called “media round-table”?

Why it was in closed doors, if it was to show your presentation?
