Need legislation to punish anti-Sri Lanka Sri Lankans

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka probably is only country that has its own citizens, and that too its MPs who are paid at tax payersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ expense, going round the world canvassing support from countries and groups determined to undermine the countryƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s sovereignty warning the country of their birth ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-of severe consequences if UN resolution ignoredƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sumanthiran of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), which was the proxy for the LTTE when the latter ruled the roost and a political group that came into what it is today as a result of the machinations of the LTTE, now is warning Sri Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-of severe consequences if UN resolution ignoredƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, as reported in the media dated 22 March.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is worth analysing who or what this holy ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-International CommunityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ is. When the US sponsored resolution was adopted, the 25 countries that voted in favour comprised one African nation, some EU nations, the US and another American nation. Of course, there was India ganging up against Sri Lanka, considering it proper to throw its tiny southern neighbour to the wolves and taking a stand that differed from that which was adopted by other SAARC member countries and even a few countries in the Middle East and the Far East.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The USA, the country that wants the rest of the world to believe that it has the God-given right to be the world policeman and the guardian of human rights keeps on massacring the innocents and the unarmed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, and Syria, and had done the same in Vietnam, Laos and Japan in the past. It was the US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in 1996 who said that the Iraqi sanctions that killed over half a million children were worth it. And, she is described as a distinguished university academic! But then again, the perception of the USA of its might is understandable: the President of US received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his intention ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” not for his actions, although he continues to destroy peace in many countries far away from the US. Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, not surprisingly, is reported to have said later that the US President ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-really ought to considerƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ returning his Nobel Peace Prize Medal immediately.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka cannot dilly dally any more. When Sri Lankan MPs go round the world asking the former colonisers and their ilk to punish Sri Lanka, and that too based on dubious allegations that had never been investigated, Sri Lanka should bring in legislation to punish the anti-Sri Lanka Sri Lankans for high treason. The word of these ungrateful individuals is taken as the Gospel truth by the powerful West, and whatever objective data that Sri Lanka presents will carry no weight as far as the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”piousƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ international community is concerned.

I hope this message gets through to our leadership.

    ENOUGH mollycoddling of traitors.

the main issue is that our leaders are more concerned on personnel agenda rather than a common agenda for the country. as a leading party the leader must make sure the rule of Law is in place and the good governance. if both is failing, so many Sri Lankans will go in-front of the UNHRC in the future too. its is a sole responsibility of the Government to practice in a fair manner and responsible manner for the both citizens and the economy.

Excellent Asada! – The top Sri Lankan to have action taken on are the leaders and the TNA. Sadly and previously a major contributor to these columns failed to do that because of utter apathy by the GoSL, for ‘GoSL fear that the TNA via India might provoke punitive action by our so called ‘Big Brother’. Any reverence to the Big Brother is now over! – S de Silva – London

Thanks Asada for bringing to attention this important point.

Sri Lanka is paying dearly for lack of proper Laws to guard the Nation. We are fast becoming a ‘lost Nation” due to lack of proper Laws which should be implemented without fear or favor.

Sri Lanka has become an international plaything. We are fast losing our self respect as a Nation.

First get rid of the 13-A. Next bring in Laws that guide people to honor this country, starting at a young age with an Oath of
Allegiance. Politicians must have high ideals and earn respect from the people. Give people an education that will help them to earn a living, with more emphasis on Sc&Tech, skills.

  5. Senevirath Says:

i have been telling all the time that RANIL WICKRAMASINGHE should be punished for signing the peace pact with tigers and Chandrika for not taking any action against him as the executive president

    Punish all
Those who are against unitary lanka
    Who support fedaral system
who calls terrorism as ethnic problem- even the L>L>R>C members should be punished .
any body trying to change the national flag national anthem, sinhala official language

  6. Ancient Sinhalaya Says:

This UNHRC resolution against our country is diaspora-fuelled. After fleeing murderous Prabakaran’s forced conscription, now they want a separate country to go on holiday while they living all around the world, thanks to their sob stories. Laughable irony of this saga is the US, who killed millions of people in Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Vietnam, Iraq, Afganisthan, etc. etc. bringing this resolution against a country which got rid of world’s deadliest terriorist outfit. Suddenly US has become the world’s policeman forgetting their war crimes against millions of unarmed civilians around the globe. No wonder they have lost the respect of the people for their double standards. Disgraceful! Killing millions of people using ATOMIC BOMBS still qualify to preach how to run other countries’ affairs. Coming back to treacherous Sri Lankans home and abroad, the Government should stop giving FREE education, FREE medicine after 2 children. This will at least reduce breeding motherland haters. It is a futile exercise to feed these ‘serpants’ who will use all the resources offered and then bite the hand which fed them. There are so many scattered around the world today. Sri Lankan government should at least start curbing this menace now. For the TNA and SLMC should get together and make a new alliance (Traitors National Alliance). Ranil Wickramashinghe with his UnP (unpatriotic party) can join them too. UnP has done so much damage to the country by intorducing 13, 13A amendments, not hesitating to kill the Sinhalese youth but mollycoddled the brutal LTTE, signing a peace accord with them and try to break up the country. They should at least now give up party politics and join the government and get rid of SLMC who advise their lot to multiply like rabbits to become the majority, who is ruining the country by blackmailing the government and get what they want at will. Sri Lankan government should bring in laws to punish people who are canvassing to divide the country. We all know, including Tamils, that there was no Tamil kingdoms in the country ever. There are no ancient buildings of Tamils in the country. No Anuradahapuras, no Polonnaruwas, no Sigiriyas. Tamil kingdoms only exist in books and these traitors’ minds. Mythical kingdoms, simply. Bring in new laws to punish traitors. Stop Free education and Free medicine after two children. We sacrifice Sinhalese youths’ opportunities to these traitors in schools, universties, job sectors, housing etc. etc. and what do we get in return. Hatred. Stop aiding Mother Lanka haters at least now!

  7. Voice123 Says:

We need a “regime change” within the TNA. The traitors should be replaced with Sri Lankan loyalists, willing to protect their stake in the Northeast against filthy Nardoos. If they are truly loyal, let them prove their loyalty to the nation by co-operating with a move against India for crimes by the IPKF against the Tamil people.
