Jayalalithaa’s chauvinism & discrimination – SL Cricketers dropped from IPL squads !

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had put a stop to Sri Lankan cricketers playingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for the Indian Premier League in Chennai. She had told the organisers that Chennai could be used for the games only if Sri Lankan players, officials, support staff do not participate in these matches. A total of 13 cricketers were to play in IPL teams. And of course, Indians would love to see Sri Lankan cricketers playing.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But for ‘heavy weight’ Jayalalithaa, who had been mucking around in films before she took to politics,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ knows only to play to the gallery. Prior to this, she had sent back a school soccer team and suspended the poor groundsman. This is nothing but chauvinism and discrimination.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Both Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi are playing a double game and competing against each other to be popular in Tamil Nadu. They are both involved in a ‘psychological war’ for the next elections. So they have taken the shortest cut to win votes
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by attacking Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
India in the past, hadƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ done all the under-hand work against Sri Lanka. It is a mythical concept that India is a friend.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now Indians are attacking Buddhist monks, pligrims, students andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ finally cricketers. But Sri Lankans as usual had shown no animosity towards Indians. TheyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ have not reacted agianstƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Indians. As the saying, just because dogs bite people, people do not go and bite dogs !
