When foreign nations like Canada, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands, the EU and USA collaborate to donate 3 NGOs that are often quoted on international arena as the mouthpieces for ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-democracyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-transparencyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-truthƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ our next question unanswered thus far is what have these organizations being doing with Rs.600million given to them?

Rs.277million to the Center for Policy Alternatives headed by Mr. Pakiasothy, Rs.171million to the National Peace Council headed by Jehan Perera and Rs.174million to Transparency International now needs to provide answers as they are eternally seeking truth from all others.

The Rs.600million is only disclosed amounts of funds given to the three NGOs ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” undisclosed amounts are anyoneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s guess.

The manner in which foreign nations uses their agencies to fund various initiatives/campaigns, conferences etc are too many to list. Russia recently closed USAID as it was accused of interfering in political processes in Russia.

While we are unlikely to know exactly the nature of the monies being lavished upon NGOs in Sri Lanka are meant to do we can only speculate that chunks of these are perfect reason to win allegiance from even media personnel ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” so very few would even go the length to question what such funds are actually used for and in what ways destabilizing of Sri Lanka takes place.

In the meanwhile, these same people demand ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-freedomƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-transparencyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

all these sharks are waiting for the economic collapse of the country – those who read the headlines in sunday island the interview of minister gunesekara with imf, will clearly understand this. the show is coming to a close, in fact the country is bankrupt. the gains made with war has been lost with mismanagement of economy. this is a grave situation.
bbs must take on government on this issue too.

This is a FANTASTIC CASE to prove how the HYPORCRITES operate. They ONLY believe what is BENEFICIAL to them.

When a UN investigator says TERRORISTS used sarin gas on civilians, USA and UN REFUSE to accept it because it is NOT beneficial to them!!!!

Same with SL. Blaming Tamil tigers is NOT beneficial for them. So they blame GOSL.

Some naïve people think we should TELL them the TRUTH (and they will believe us) and not let Tamil Diaspora tell them lies. WRONG!

They KNOW the truth but don’t believe it. They always believe what is BENEFICIAL to them WHOEVER says it, however wrong it is.

“The US and United Nations have cast doubt on claims by Carla del Ponte that Syrian rebel forces might have used the nerve agent sarin.

“We are highly sceptical of any suggestions that the opposition used chemical weapons,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney. “We think it highly likely that Assad regime was responsible but we have to be sure about the facts before we make any decisions about a response.”

Speaking on Sunday del Ponte, a member of a UN panel investigating in Syria, said there were “strong, concrete suspicions” the Syrian rebels had used poison gas. She cited testimony from survivors in hospitals outside Syria, but gave no details. “This was use on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities,” she told Swiss-Italian TV.”
