MOTHER LANKA COMMITS HARA-KIRI
Posted on May 6th, 2013

Malin Abeyatunge

President Rajapaksa in the recent past has been telling the people that Northern Provincial Council(NPC) elections will be held in September under 13 Amendment. If NCP elections are held and the onetime LTTE proxy TNA wins (not if, they will most certainly will) on the very next day the patriotic tabloids if there are any, would carryƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the headlines asƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Mother Lanka commits hara-kiri (ritual suicide) being unable to bear the pain of seeing that she will be dissected into ethnic enclavesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

There is no doubt that TNA is going to win as unlike the Sinhalese, the Tamils will vote only to a Tamil whatever the party is. How much the Tamil population in the North is showered with milk & honey, houses, hospitals, schools, water, electricity, opportunities of employment and self-employment and building infrastructure by the Government, rescuing 283000 Tamils held hostage by the LTTE, still they will forget all good things done by the Rajapaksa Government and vote forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  TNA who did nothing to uplift their lives but instead supported LTTE to keep the Tamils under the jackboots of LTTE leaders. The government should understand this stark truth before having elections in the North. The UPFA should not take it for granted that the Tamils will vote for UPFA candidates leaving out TNA despite the excellent development taking place in the North for the upliftment of the Tamils.

Thousands of Sinhala Ranaviruwan sacrificed their lives and thousands became disabled from all forces in protecting the territorial integrity and unitary status of Mother Lanka. Whilst all Sri Lankan are enjoying the dividends of peace, their sacrifices would be in vain ifƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  NPC elections are held under 13A and handover the NPC to TNA Eelamists on a platter. Same way when Varadharaja Perumal declared Unilateral Declaration of Independence in the Eastern ProvinceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  (though quashed), TNA will declare Unilateral Declaration of Eelam in the Northern Province next morning and implement police and land powers and opt for secession from the Government. They will get hundred precent backing from Tamil Nadu, India and the western countries who have vested interest with the Tamil Diaspora. If such a situation arises, is the government ready with a strategy to quell such situation? Can we have faith that if TNA wins that they will give up its clamour for a separate State? If we observe the behavioural pattern of the TNA over the past few years in domestic politics and in the international arena, they have been propagating separatism with the support of western countries like US, UK, Canada, some EU countries and India, we cannot expect TNA to give up PrabhkaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Eelam dream.

If the NCP elections are held under the present constitution, itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s the death knell of a one nation and its hara-kiri for Mother Lanka. This catastrophe can be avoidedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  only if (1) abrogate the 13 Amendment before the NPC election is held or(2) as an immediate measure, withdraw the police and land powers in the 13 Amendment-so that it will be a deterrent to declare secession and in such a situation the Government can interfere to quell such attempt.

Let us all get together and pray that the President will be blessedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  with extra courage and prudence to save Mother LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  from committing suicide.

Yes, Malin Abeyatunga…………..I too agree with your analysis. I feel when such a surge in patriots of Mother lanka, says to President..HE.Rajapaksha……..hope he will listen.

It is time to withraw or abrogate 13, 13A or any form of 13 ammendment in the present climate. At least president should NOT give Police & Land powers to provinces, as it is in itself handing over peace to bunch seperatists who ruin the country.

It should apply to all provinces that main core of governing in any country should rest with central govt. So it is time to state this loud & clear that Police & Land powers will not be given to any province in Sri Lanka.

According to recent press reports, Tamil Diaspora have already bought properrties all over the country, under absent land owner provician. All measures will be handled by lawyers, real estate agents, acting Power of Attorneys, for absent buyers. They even do not have to set foot in the country.

Wake up Sri Lankans!! both in & expat communities, to demand NOT to give these powers, which will in turn will be a division of the country.

Thank you all……another expat expressing his views….~ J

At last someone with BRAINS has spoken while DAMN FOOLS think appeasing Tamils will win the day for govt.

Tamil people are like the woman in Chulla Pathuman Jataka (always used to play near Deiwala in Vesak).

No matter how much her legitimate good hubby (Govt.) loved her (Tamil people), she loves a TERRORIST (TNA) with no hands or legs! And she pushes her hubby who has done SO MUCH for the witch down a waterfall (vote against govt at the election) to marry the criminal (Tamil Elam).

I can’t wait to see BR’s poker face after the defeat.

  3. Lorenzo Says:

LTTE failed to get Tamil Elam but LTTE’s child (with Norway) TNA is going to get it EASILY.

    What a tragedy!

  4. Senevirath Says:

    LAST DAYS OF POMPEI

The govt spends all our money to develop north they will take everything from the foolish govt and betray the govt. ordinary tamils suffer a lot under high cast tamil leaders but they are so uneducated and dont understand the route course of their suffering. they just pray to unseen gods and some worship “LINGA’ for salvation

  5. A. Sooriarachi Says:

I understand the Govt is bringing in a 19th amendment to remove Police and Land Powers included in the 13th amendment, which was forced upon SriLanka by the Indian Govt at the time. Govt must also resettle all the sinhalese and Tamils who were evicted from the North by the Tamil terrorists.
I do not agree with the view that the TNA will win the Provincial Council elections, if around 75% of eligible Northern Province waters participate in the next elections and if they are given a choice between the TNA and those opposed to the TNA. At the last elections even with heavy LTTE influence, the TNA apparently received only 11% of the eligible votes. Also, TNA has already let down the Northerners by aligning with Tamilnadu and ignoring the Northern fishermen’s problems. Nor have the TNA participated in any meaningful development work in the North.
Just like the sinhalese voters rejected the JVP because of their connection to past violence and disruption to economic development, the Tamils in the North will also reject the TNA because of their connection to LTTE terrorists and lack of interest in development of the North.
Though the LTTE has the money to by voters and MPs, I wont be surprised if the TNA is rejected by the Northern voters, as they now know the LTTE terrorists wont be around to intimidate the voters in favour of the TNA.

  6. Dilrook Says:

    Agree with Malin.

But it gets far worse than what it appears. Once the Northern Provincial Council is in place, their next task is to merge the north and the east according to the 13A. It provides a referendum must be held to merge the two provinces. This is where Azad and his group of Tamil-Muslim inter-group come in. They are tasked with the difficult task of bringing some consensus between TNA and SLMC for the merger of the two provinces as required by India, LTTE and USA.

Ruling party is reversing all its achievements from 2005 to 2009 one by one during its second term. When they leave office, the nation will be in similar state as they took over in 2005.

  7. S de Silva Says:

Thank you Malin A. Everyone is talking of 13A as the root cause. And 13A has to be chucked out. But what is the bloody difficulty in doing that may I ask when it is within the Parliamentary power of the present government to do just that?? – can someone please explain this difficulty – S de Silva- London

I love my country.I love it’s people.I love this man called Mahinda Rajapaksa because of him we walk freely without bombs and bloodshed. We love our land more than anything but I never trust a Tamil or India NEVER! Some are correct to say that how much we give to these Tamils they will never appreciate but worship their own. Never mind though because they are all Sri Lankans.

Our Govt must erase fully 13 A or B for good if not we will have a problem. This Govt have two third majority and I dont know what the hell they are doing or why they fear of these basterd enemies of our land? Take a decision on behalf of the Sri Lankan citizens who gave them power and be quick.

Tamils and Muslims must live in peace with us.This is our land Sri Lankan land for all but must be sincere to the Majority Sinhala Buddhists not trying to wage Jihad or seperatism of any kind. We Sinhalese won’t allow any group or traitors to play with our freedom again. We will rise up against all evils and traitors to our land fearlessly and courageously. Don’t worry.

[But what is the bloody difficulty in doing that may I ask when it is within the Parliamentary power of the present government to do just that?? – can someone please explain this difficulty]
Mr S De Silva has asked a pertinent question which i have asked the same many times:

I believe MR has on many occasions given promises/undertakings to implement the 13th to India & US in return for “non-interference” during the last stages in May 2009. The International players will not expect anything less even though MR has made noises about 13 plus to “salivate” the IC.
To this day MR nor his Govt spokesperson have made any adverse comments on the 13th instead he has enrolled the likes of Wimal W and Gotabayha R (civil servant) to make the necessary noises.
Needless to say he has implement the 18th and soon the 19th (although recent denials from Govt) to counter the 13th (yet to be implemented).
MR, i believe will not repeal the 13th, also not implement it but will remain part of the Constitution until he dilutes it with further Amendments.
Repealing the 13th will see him have a one way ticket to Hague!
