Modi on the Road to Gain Respect & Credibility – An Uphill Struggle!

Prof. Hudson McLean

The first 100 days of Nareendra Modi – Indian Prime Minister may demonstrate the efficacy of his top administrative team.
Is it a “New Broom with a Better Handle” or a “New Broom with the Old Handle”?
Whilst India is engulfed in a stream of savagery of Rape of innocent young girls, and brutal murder, as published in all media globally, with a Police Force driven by corruption, with judiciary in-tow, can any reasonable human have any respect for India?

No leader who cannot command respect for the disrespect and safety of his own citizens, under his watch, should not venture outside his own territory, to advise governance on his neighbours.

India is surrounded by neighbours such as Pakistan, Bangladesh (both Muslim dominant), China (suspicious), Sri Lanka (suspicious), are not on the closest “buddy” list.

Then there is the India’s “darling birdbrain” Jayalalitha the aging inflating Queen of TamilNadu, who refused to attend the Inauguration Ceremony of the Indian General Election victory of the centuries, simply because Rt. Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa – President of Sri Lanka was invited to attend.

Categorically this mindset placed Jayalalitha into the Trash-can. How can she command the newly-elect PM of India, elected by a roaring majority, on his guest list?

As things move, Modi hardly needs Jayalaltha at this moment. Modi should make as one of his Priority Issues to displace Jayalaltha to the Bay of Bengal, (politically of course) and STOP commanding the President of Sri Lanka on how to administer an Independent Sovereign State on Internal issues.  These issues were largely created by the Gandhi administration and the Indian Secret Service RAW, by training & funding LTTE Tamil Terrorists.

The last thing Modi wants, is to get engulfed in internal Sri Lankan issues since, some of his neighbours might suspect his medium-to-long-term ambitions of his  External Affairs agenda.  Any threat to Sri Lankan security may wake-up China, Pakistan into the fray, both from the West, North East and the South.

Apart from the uncivilised, unacceptable, inhumane Caste issues, murder, rape, corruption within an inept, incompetent bureaucratic juggernaught resting in the Indian governmental administration, it is safe to assume that Modi will not throw pebbles into the “Hornets Nest” of the neighbours.

On the Foreign Investor front, Modi will have a tougher job on “How to Win Friends & Influence People”.

There are about 6 major Multi National Corporations (MNC) engaged in a 5 year Battle-of-the-Taxes, estimated at US$ 10-15 billion. Tamil Nadu comes into the forefront, as claimed by the MNC, that the inept, incompetent, corrupt Tamil bureaucrats who “blackmailed” MNC, and then having failed in their “negotiations” were slapped-with massive Income Tax claims.  This is being disputed by both sides.

Hope Modi is aware that there are Three Sides to most stories-; Yours – Mine – and the Truth!
Now the “billion-dollar” question is, should Modi bend in favour of the MNC or let the Indian Judiciary hold the Fort?

Whatever the Final judgement is, India stands to lose, in money, face, reputation, goodwill & credibility.

Having said that; Tiny as it is, Sri Lanka (David) must not bow or kow-tow (kau tau in Cantonese, or koutou in Mandarin) to India (Goliath).

The problem being ~ the intellectuals, political moderates and academics with savvy in India rise up from a multitude of grass roots type teeming mass of lesser educated as well as illiterate humanity whose baser instincts they believe take priority over world issues. While it is the aforementioned educated types that have projected India into a world power of great acumen in many fields what they have accomplished for India could never be harnessed into a means to interact sensibly with the rest of the world as long as bellyaching inveterately blinkered individuals such as Jayalalitha, Vaiko, Karunanidhi and their ilk far from being identifiable as intellectuals yet having some of the blinkered masses behind them to uphold their manouvres which at times to a sane world seems near
imbecillic is a fact of life in India particulaqrly in the south. While it is indeed a tough ask for Mody to contend with this lot it will also be a time for testing his real mettle which if it proves true to be worthy of his leadership and accepted globally as someone who could steer India to be a world power empathetic towards the common good of all mankind not just Tamil Nadu he will join the list of elite Indian leaders of the past who did not pay too much attention to the rabble and rabble rousers with a gnat brained idealogy that will contribute towards India’s loss of credibility amongst world powers and a sad concept indeed.

Yes. This is the MAIN advice to us. To do that we need a Man with clean character, better brains and big Marbels. Not a bugger who is gesturing “goodwill” to Amma.

Quoting the article: “Whilst India is engulfed in a stream of savagery of Rape of innocent young girls, and brutal murder, as published in all media globally, with a Police Force driven by corruption, with judiciary in-tow, can any reasonable human have any respect for India”

Looking at Western media nobody really cares. The economic powers including the UN has not shown any sign that they would even address these issues. I am glad the article at least had the respect of placing the word “caste” as one of India’s many social ills which was recognized by the UNHRC as a human rights issue but was stamped out by India decades ago. Though India stopped the UNHRC from dealing with this contemptible issue the Hindu Caste system remains as one of mankinds greatest and longest crimes against humanity.

I state this because those nations who have and will invest in India do not care about rape, crime, etc as long as it does not interfere with their investments. In spite of the fact that the thriving caste system goes against every principle of Democracy India is still hailed as the “world’s largest Democracy”. Not for the tens of millions of Pariahs who are treated as less than human by the upper caste Hindus including Indians of other faiths. To ignore a population larger than most nations of the world is by itself a crime, similar to ignoring a gang rape taking place right in front of your eyes and you will do nothing about it.
