YMMA DELEGATION MEETS PALESTINIAN AMBASSADOR

On 12th August, 2014 a 5-Member Delegation from the National Council of YMMAs of Sri Lanka met the Palestinian Ambassador His Excellency Zuhair M.H. Dar Zeid at his Embassy.
The Ambassador profusely thanked the people of Sri Lanka for the love displayed towards the Palestinians. The gifts and show of support, in spite of their difficulties, is bringing tears to his eyes. He further said that he too was in the Israeli prisons for no fault of his for nearly 11 years. During this period, he mastered the Hebrew language which is helping him now to go into the Israeli Web sites which is mainly in Hebrew. He could therefore minutely understand their movements and ideas..
1. No goods will be collected henceforth by YMMA Maligawatte. Whatever Milk Powder, Biscuits and Tea collected for the children of Gaza will packed in cartons for easy distribution. These items will be sent either through Egyptian Embassy, Jordanian Embassy or Red Crescent as Palestinian Embassy has no means to despatch them before the expiry date of these products.

True SL patriots BBS has PROTESTED in Maligawatte, etc. AGAINST this Israel bashing nonsense. HAMAS is a TERRORIST group like the LTTE. If Palestinians want HAMAS to be their leaders, to hell with them. Like Tamil people in SL wanting TNA to be their leaders. And extremist Muslims wanting SLMC.
DISARM HAMAS. Hand over all power to MAHMOUD ABBAS (the true Palestinian leader). Accept Israel’s right to exist. Then we can join forces. NOT otherwise.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today announced that Sri Lanka will provide 1 million US dollars in financial assistance to Palestine.
President Rajapaksa has been a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause and is the Founder President of the Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine.
Cynics among us would speculate that this was the price for “Star of Palestine” highest award of the State of Palestine awarded to the President in January.
It begs the question, although its a good gesture, can we afford this when our own citizens are without basic needs of drinking water, medicine etc.

What a FOOLISH decision when this 1 million US dollars can be used for DROUGHT AFFECTED SINAHALA people in Hambantota and NCP.
IF MR thinks this will bring Muslim votes, he is mistaken. It will not.
Anyway IF he is serious, the money MUST be channeled through means ACCEPTABLE to Israel!! Most like through the Israel agencies or Israel backed Mahmoud Abbas’s team.
