ධර්මසිරි සෙනෙවිරත්න විසිනි
තිරිකුනාමල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ සහකාර ආණ්ඩුවේ ඒජන්ත තැන වූ ලුෂින්ටන් 1898 වසර පරිපාලන වාර්තාවේ පළමුවන කොටස පිටුව 17 —–දිවයි න ලිපිය—
“”කඩ් ඩු කුලම් පත්තු ප්‍රධාන ගම්මුලා දෑ නි කොට්ඨාසය
————————————————– ත්‍රිකුණාමල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ මෙමෙ කොට්ඨාසය තුල උඩරට සිංහලයන්ගෙන් පැවතෙන අය වාසයකළහ.. මෙම ජනකොටස අහිතකර බලපෑම් වලට ලක්වන බවද කරයෙන් අභාවයට යන බවද පෙනේ.අත්හැර දමනලද හෝ පිළිසකර කරනලද වැව් වලින් ගැවසීගත් මෙම පළාත සිත්ගන්නා සුළුය. ගැමියෝ උඩරට පාරම්පරික සිරිත් බොහොමයක් තවමත් පිළිපදිති . එසේවුවද ඔවුන් වේගයෙන් දෙමල කරණයට පත්වෙන බව පෙනේ . මෙය නම් කනගාටුවට කරුණකි .ඔවුහු දෙමල ජනයා සමග ආවාහ විවාහ වෙති .. බොහෝදෙනෙක් දෙමල භාෂාව මෙන්ම සිංහල භාශාවද කතා කරති. රජයේ පාසා ගුරුවරයාද දෙමල ගුරුවරයෙකි..එම පාසලේ උගන්වන්නේ දෙමල බස පමණකි. අවාසනාවකට මෙන් ඇතැම් සිංහල ගම්මාන දෙමල ජාතිකයන් විසින් මිලට ගෙන ඇතිඅතර ඒවායේ ඇති සියලුම කුඹුරු හා ඉඩම් ඔවුන් සතුවී ඇත.. ඔවුන්ගේ නම්ද දෙමල ඌ රුවට හැඩගැසී ඇත. මෙය පුදුමයට කරුණක් නොවන්නේ කච්චේරියේ සිටින තෝල්කයන් පෙත්සම්ලියන්නන් හා වෙනත් නිලධාරීන් සියලුදෙනා දෙමළුන් බැවිනි. මෙය නම් ඛේදනීය කරුණක් බව කිවයුතුය. ඉංග්‍රීසි දැනීමක් ඇති ප්‍රබල සිංහල ගම්මුලාදානියෙක් මෙම පළාතේ ප්‍රධාන ගම්මුලාදෑනියා වශයෙන් පත්වෙනවා දැකීමට මම කැමති වෙමි. තවද දෙමල පාසල අහෝසි කල යුතුයයදා මම සිතමි.””””
ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වනාන්තර පරිපාලනය නමින් වන සංරක්ෂණ සේවයේ වින්සන්ට් මහතාගේ 1882 අංක 43 දරන සැසි වාර්තාවේ 1 පරිච්චේධයේ පිටු අංක 2 හි මෙසේ දැක්වේ ”””නැගෙනහිර වෙරළ තීරුව ඔස්සේ දෙමල ජනාවාස ව්‍යාප්තවීම සහ උතුරු පළාත සහ තමන්කඩුව පළාත හැර අනෙක් පෙදස්වල වෙරළබඩ කොටස් දෙමල ජ නාචාස කරණය වී නොතිබීම සැලකිය යුතු කරුණකි දෙමල සහ මුස්ලිම් ජනයා පදිංචියට පැමිණි සියලු ප්‍රදේශයන්හි සිංහල ජනයා එළවා දැමීමෙන් පසුව එම සිංහල ජනයා යාබද කැ ලෑ වලට සංක්‍රමණය වී හේන් ගොවිතැන් හෝ දඩයම් කිරීමෙන් ඉතාම අවදානම් සහගත ජීවිතයක් ගත කළහ.””
1921 සංගණන වාර්තාවේ දී මඩකලපු කච්චේරියේ එස්. ඕ . කනගරත්නම් මෙසේ කියය–””’ මඩ කලපු දිස්ත්‍රික්කය උඩරට රජතුමා යටතේ පැවතුනි……සිංහල ගම අභාවයට යන බව පෙනේ.. සිංහල ගම විනාශය වැලක් වීමේ අරමුණින් බින්තැන්න පත්තුව නම් නව සිංහල කොට්ඨාශයක් වෙන් කරනලදී ”””’

Whats happened to Colombo is due to continual struggle of middle class COlombo Sinhalas to work, live and educate the children. Most of them sold their land to high price offering (drug donations) Muslims. Dehiwala- Galkissa area is greatly affected by this. As they moved further away Colombo Sinhala population decreased.
Governments ( not only the current one) never looked after the Sinhalas in Colombo.
We need a fealess leader who can do this justice. MR is not the answer.

Who do you meant by Sinhala hiwalun ?
Inter ethnic, inter racial, inter religion marriages happens every where. I think that the link between up country sinhala people and the Yapapatuna Tamils is they both descended from the same Indian stock. SO, those relatives who settled in the North started speaking Tamils while their inter family marriages continued.
I think, Sri lankan rulers should have read this these things and they should have applies remedies to those.
Instead what did they do ?.
See what politicians are doing.
Massive infra structure projects are needed for the country. Why those are so expensive ?
Why drug lords kill each other and some survived the courts too. It is said, that powerful politicians support drug imports for various reasons, one reason being the much needed money for the next election campaign. That includes very top too.
Sri lanka needs economic development. So, Toursim brings money. With the tourism, and related industries, -brothels, child prostitution, male prostitution, brothels, pedophilia, gambling addicts and affected families, crimes, STDs.. list is very long.
See the effects of women leaving to work in middle east – so many broken families, children grew up with mothers affection, fathers, uncles, …. raping daughters and grand daughters, extremist religions, cultures that are not suitable to Sri lanka.
I am pretty sure, This Dharmasiri Senevirathne does not see those things, one future Dharmasiri Senevirathne will write how Sinhalun, not the British, Portuguese, muslims, christians or Tamils, but the So-called sinhala-Buddhist politicians destroyed Sri lanka.

Dharmasiri said ” those Sinhala’s who became Hiwalas” (හිවලුන් වූ සිහලුන් ) do not want to know certain truth which he is revealing.
Obviously these evidence are not published widely. He is listing down.
He did not say “Sinhala hiwalun ” but හිවලුන් වූ සිහලුන් .

Most of the Tamils and Indians in Ceylon arrived in the island on the back of British as sepoys, coolies and administrators. The fist to arrive were the Vellars from the Malabar coast. Remember the British administration of the coastal areas of Ceylon that were under the Dutch were administered from Madras.
