Why Tamil Diaspora in Shock?
Posted on May 22nd, 2009

Prof. Hudson McLean

“God is No God, if HE Could be Understood by Man!” God moves in mysterious ways and HE did. HE did help the SLDF to raze the Tamil Tiger Terrorists LTTE to the ground.

The Tamil Diaspora still do not want to believe that their “Sun God” is still around. But do they accept that his son Charles Anthony, and the wife of Prabhakaran, daughter and the youngest son were shot and killed? Does this mean the “King Rat” got his “double” to front the SLDF bullet and disappeared?

Killinochchi does not belong to Tamils. Its part of Sri Lanka and belongs to all Sri Lankans. There are more Tamils enjoying comfort and security in Colombo than in the North. Proportionately, there is no Sinhala population in the North. This must be corrected. The name could be in Sinhala and Tamil, in that order.

“We feel very sad and disappointed that the Sri Lankan government has no regard for innocent Tamil civilians.” says SIVA VASANDAN, DOCTOR AND CAMPAIGNER, NEW ZEALAND.

Did Velupillai Prabhakaran have any regards for any human life?

Under the regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Tamils may expect a fair deal. But do not “rock the boat”.

JEEVANANTHAN, POSTMAN, LONDON says “I’m very sad about the death of Prabhakaran. It is like the death of a family member. Who is going to bring peace now? ”

Listen Postman!, Prabhakaran was the instrument of death. Thank God that he is no more. Without him, there will be peace.

VASUKI MURUHATHAS, LAWYER, LONDON threatens, “The government should immediately give us a solution and show us regard, look after Tamils. We want innocent Tamil people to be saved immediately.”

As a lawyer, Vasuki, your language is more of a threat than a polite request. This kind of blood was the start of the entire problem. You should try your language on Premier Manmohan Singh and demand an Independent State of Tamil Nadu, and see what happens.

All those Tamils who are not happy in Sri Lanka are free to take a boat ride to their Motherland Homeland, Tamil Nadu.

A note to the Tamil Diaspora: Do not dictate policy from abroad to the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL).

As a Catholic, I agree fully, if the GoSL decide to build new Buddhist Temples to cater for the 60% Buddhists, it is their prerogative. Specially to rebuild the Temples which the LTTE destroyed.

According to history, Buddhist Temples have never been used for illegal activity, like Muslim Madrasses or Mosques, or Catholic Churches. The Buddhist monks are a different story.

The government should take their considered structure on how to place the IDP, in the same proportion of the Sri Lankan demographics. No more Ghettos! No more exclusive Tamil villages. That went out with the LTTE.

Tamils will have to learn to live alongside the Sinhala and vice versa, as good neighbours, respecting each others language, culture and religion.

The sooner the SLG makes English language compulsory, so that all parties have a common language without forcing one another with Sinhala or Tamil, the better for all.

The Tamil Dispora should sit back and think how they can help their Tamil brethren to get their life back together, without blaming the GoSL for any shortfalls.

You have given excellent answers. Great job!
When I saw those, I was itching to write something back, unfortunately couldn’t find time and a place to reply on them.
Thanks for coming forward and doing that.

    Hi All

I see some comments made by both sides “extreme”. Violence by both communities (Sinhalese and Tamils) look as a chicken and egg story. It is the duty of majority community to treat the minorities fairly…not say “If you want to be treated fairly go and live in some other place”. If you cant do that it is better to live seperately and peacefully…otherwise you deserve the violenece which wrecked your country for so many years. By the way how did you benifit by the violence when other countries have forged ahead economically when you were putting out the fire. If you love srilanka and have an respect for that country you will try to ensure peace not go back and precipitate violence. If you dont, yoyu are the one who needs to be kicked out of sri lanka.

Watch it friend. The Muslims of Sri Lanka have never once betrayed Sri Lanka. No need to take a shot at the Muslims. The crap written about maddrassahs and the alleged “illegal” activities that take place in them? What on earth are you referring to? Reading the Quran? I think you need to look back at the history between the Muslims and Sinhalese in Sri Lanka before you start writing things like this..

This is for Mr. shivling84 : Please do not talk of Majorities and Minorities. These words have no place in a modern Sri Lankan society. We are all Sri Lankans with equal rights. The words Majority and Minority have been coined by the colonialists to divide and rule. That is the past and is best to be left behind. Now it is time to get together and move forward pulling our weight together, to get Sri Lanka’s economy back on track. This needs all communities irrespective of race, cast or religion to join hands in the nation rebuilding effort with our President.
