Some suggestions for SLAF

I am referring to the article that appeared in Amarasara with the above title: ref:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Our Air Force, if they are engaging in commercial operations, then ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ they are doing the right thing. If the air force is complying with regulations, then they are operating in a legal manner and are qualified to carry on operations. I am wondering how commercial orgs are better qualified than the air force.
In deed if our security forces are to survive in the long run, then they have to earn their up keep. Many foreign armies have collapsed due to expense and because of their inability to earnƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ their upkeep. Certainly money earned from public transport will enable the air force to keep flying. Operation of trawlers should be in the domain of the Navy and our army could engage in construction industry and farming.
Many may wonder if this personƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who wrote the article denouncing the Air forceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is an LTTE supporter, trying to sink our security forces ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This person certainly appear to have a poor knowledge of economics and commercial viability of organisations.
My suggestion is that our Air Force should even venture to international flights so that they get international flying experience.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This would enable the air force to take on foreignƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ targets if the need arises.
