In his myopic and narrow minded tunnel vision he could only see himself as the sole achiever of this victory over Tamil Tiger Terrorism. He failed to see the larger forces outside who are hell bent on destroying Sri Lanka to achieve their geopolitical dreams ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” breaking up Sri Lanka to destroy India and to get a permanent foot hold in this important geographical locationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to control the waters of the Indian Ocean. He failed to see the designs of the Christian Church to evangelize the region to create a docile and servile, west worshipping population. Most of all he failed to see the heroic role of the President and his brother Gotabhaya in leading the war and containing the foreign powers to achieve and end to Tamil Tiger Terrorism and in the end to make One Country, One Vision and One Nation ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the Sri Lankans! ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There was no end to what Sarath Fonseka ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ wanted for participating in the Ealam War IV. He wanted promotions, positions and power. He wanted land, cars, security much beyond his calling. His letter of resignation is a tale of woe ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” of all what he wanted as compensation! All what could be given reasonably were given. In his myopic vision he could only see material gratifications as compensation for his contribution to the war effort. He grossly misunderstood the significance of his contribution which can never be equated with material gain. He failed to see the compensation he will receive in terms of the admiration of a grateful nation for many millennia to come.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Spurred on by the Traitors of Sir Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” Ranil W, Ravi K, Jayalath J , Avamangala, Hakim, Ganeshan, Sambandan and JVP hoodlums, driven by pure hatred and revenge he even did not hesitate to denigrate the very Ranviruwoes who carried out his orders in the midst of death and deprivation in the jungles of the Vanni and in the East. He has proven to be a mere mindless tool; the President used him to destroy the LTTE; now that he is in the hands of the Traitors they are using him to destroy the President!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka ended a bloody war, the result of colonial interference in South Asia. They used racist Tamil mindset to propagate this war. The architects of this war are now again trying to destabilize Sri Lanka and through Sri Lanka, India. For the first time since passing the Cape of Good Hope ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the Portuguese tasted defeat; it was at the hands of the Sinhalese at Gannoruwa and Mulleriawa! The marauding British tasted defeat in Kandy before they foundƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Fonsekas in Pilimatalawa and Ehelepola.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Now the combined forces of the Christian Western PowersƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  have tasted defeat of their catƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s paw the LTTE, they are biding their time to destroy Sri Lanka!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ At this election the Tamils in North and East must decide for themselves, whether they want another period of bloody war and deprivation. We know this war is not what they wanted nor of their calling. They simply got used by the racist Tamils in Colombo and by those in the Diaspora. However much the Ealamist want to call it their homeland, traditional homeland or whatever euphemism that is currently in favour including the latest Eazam, this land remains the historic land of the Sinhalese. What ever they have to say there is not a shred of historical or archaeological evidence to show continued habitation of this land by Tamils in the North and East except going back for a couple of hundreds of years. Can they show us anything comparable to the works of ancient Sinhala Kings?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The fact that the present day Tamils ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the majority of them are the remnants of indented labour brought in first by the Portuguese first and then by the Dutch as plantation labour remains undisputed.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Not very different from the Tamils in Malaysia, Burma, or the Indians in Fiji! ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The fact that they are essentially a coastal population proves this point beyond doubt. It is during very recent colonial times that Sinhala place names in these provinces have been Tamilized. This is how Gantalawa ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” ( a name meaning ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ river flood plains) ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ became Kantalai and the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ list can go on!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sinhalese are an accommodating people, themselves being the assimilation of several waves of migration over millennia. Their identity stems for the language they speak ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” Sinhalese and from the faith professed by the majority – Buddhism. We can never be racist as we have a mixed lineage but a common heritage ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as any other Island population elsewhere in the world. Living in the cross roads of ancient human migrations we could not be anybody else. Our strength lies in our assimilation and our love for our common Hela Heritage ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” what we have together accomplished – ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ dating back over 2500 years. Just as people become Americans in USA,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  in Sri Lanka they too can become Sinhalese too. Many have done so in the past and many are becoming Sinhalese even now! Many other ethnicities including a majority of Tamils (who are only recent arrivals historically and hence so far not assimilated) who are now in the island live, work and prosper among the Sinhalese without any let or hindrance elsewhere in the island; just as the Indian Tamil population in the hill country! For a heavily populated island community the North and East which are sparsely populated remains our future living space. There is no way this land can be parcelled out to Tamil Racists!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is the Tamils in the North and Eastern provinces who carried out ethnic cleansing to create their mythical Ealam (a corruption of the word Sihalam). Now with the end of the war in Nanthi Kadal it is up to the Tamils to decide for themselves whether they want to live and prosper in one land ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka for if not the Sinhalese will fight again to regain their heritage and many more Nanthi Kadals will be their destiny and fortune.

If this were so, it would have happened, many millennia ago. This is in our blood and let no intruder, usurper nor any foreign meddling power whether near or far mistake our seeming passivity at times , nor our kindness as a mark of weakness. When the calling comes, albeit slowly it comes as it happened 7 months ago. AsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the saying goes initially we run, and when we see the Southern Ocean we turn back! ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ President Rajapakse was able to bring the whole country under one umbrella for the first time since Parakrama Bahu the Sixth of Kotte. This is no mean feat. We are certain that he understand the historical significance of this achievement and will not let any other petit considerations come in between to deny him and his victorious Ranaviruwos their due position in history. There are stories of corruption. Over the last few weeks many of these stories have been proven to be those out of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”rumour millsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ of the JVP and UNP.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We welcome our Tamil and Muslim brothers to live and prosper in Sri Lanka. Let us build together one Sri Lanka where, as President Mahida Rajapakse once said there will be only one minority ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” those who hate Sri Lanka. When Col Karuna said ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Give us what you give to ColomboƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ he struck a strident code, aƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  cry concordant with the rest of Sri Lanka too. From what is going around in the island it is now abundantly clear that President is in the process of doing just that!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So tomorrow at the elections let all Sri Lankans who love their country go and vote as one to elect President Rajapakse for a second term to complete the victory over those who hate us.
