LET US WORK FOR A TAMIL PRIME MINISTER ONE AND ONLY WAY

My dear peace loving Sri Lankans,
The one and only way in reconciliation with our Tamil people in Sri Lanka is according to my sincere beliefs are integrate with the Tamils and Muslims in our country and include them in a much more aggressive manner in the administration. One should not expect this process only on one way traffic. Both communities must realise that first and foremost thing is remove from their minds the misstrust carried over the centuries. Fifty per cent or may be ninety per cent of the Sinhalese may not agree with my proposal. But one must learn to think in terms of the Buddhist teachings, live and let live as well as considering under extenuating circumstances in much more human compassionate grounds.
We may not like to be called Indians. But fact remains whether we like it or not Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshis, Napolease, Bhutanes e and Sri Lankans are all of one race. That is we are all Indians. In broad spectrum terms we are all human.

During President PremadasaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s time Perumal became the Chief Minister of Jaffna and hoisted the EELAM Flag and declared EELAM in Jaffna. How long did he survive after hoisting the EELAM flag? Soon Perumal had to flee the country.

If we try to find the answers to the question we will never find any time to reconciliation. My best answer is draw a line on the bad past and start up fresh with a clear mind to settle our differences. Enough is enough. We have wasted our valuable time in arguing and accusing others. We must win some and loose some. In conciliation we must forego some of those we hold on to. The life is too short to argue and argue. We want to see a happy ending in our life.
PRESIDENT RAJAPAKSE DECLAREING ONE NATION.
President Rajapakse declare that there is only one nation in Sri Lanka. That is Sri Lankans. There is no majority Sinhalese or minority Tamils,Muslims Burgers and Malays. So where is the problem? If Tamils are also Sri Lankans what is wrong in Douglas Devananda, Ananda Sangaree, Sampanthan, Karuna or Pillayan becoming the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka when Mahinda Rajapakse is the President. President, Prime minister and the Ministers are for all Sri Lankans and not for one particular community. Remove from the vocabulary the words Tamil community, Sinhalese community and etc. and insert the word Sri Lankan community.
ONE AND ONLY WAY
The fore going I believe is the one and only way of reconciliation with all the communities in Sri Lanka. Let us form a one nation and contribute our knowledge and skills to develop our country Sri Lanka.

I agree with it 100%. Make Douglas Devananda our Prime Minister. End of story. Lets see the turn of events. Lets do it. Well said, needs to be done!!

If the government goes ahead with this proposal, it will certainly kill the separatist movement and may even paralyze the opposition. It will also derail CIAs and MI5s plans to topple this government. The question is whether the government will have the guts to do it and whether the ultra nationalists will accept such a position. There is no doubt it is a great idea but unfortunately not all great ideas end up being implemented.

Dear Stanley Perera, this is the lousiest article I read at Lanka web, one of the best sites to reflect intellectual values in article content. I regret to write this comment, but am duty bound as you are rubbing salt on the bleeding wounds. It is totally out of historical, cultural and natural context, but something more close to a pipe dream of a man from an alien planet. What we say must be realistic and valid for the past and present, to be of any relevance for the future. It is sad that you have no idea of the pain and suffering born by the Sinhala community, in their own country. They have lost their right to decide their own affairs thanks to local English scum continuing the English burden. They have no right to learn their language, their way of life and to work out any improvements under alien domination. Your friends want Sinhala people to speak English. The message you deliver to Sinhala people is that “You, Sinhala people, we have killed you, keep killing you for ever. But you accept it as right and say thank you every time. What we do is always right for you.” Do you expect this to continue until Sinhala people become extinct?
I do not understand how you claim to be Sinhala because every word you uttered tells otherwise. You are perfectly right to call yourself a Buddhist, pathetic idiots who become human by mistake, trying every possible means to end life as a human from the day of birth.

As well, you missed the best part of your description. It should read as we humans are in fact one of the infinite number of mobile life forms (animals) in this world. I do not know whether you understand what a word means given your abuse/misuse of words to turn them into meaningless sounds. According to content of this article, you even seems to deny Sinhala people to have the right to be animals. Let me say that Sinhala are more closer to original English than any other race. Do you have any comments?
You do not seem to have an iota of understanding about the ethnic groups that you mentioned as they are not just words, but totally different groups. According to your vision, cats are the same as rats, etc. In fact, the main cause of all the problems is the ancient Sinhala law that stipulated the enthronement procedure, that led to a Tamil criminal called Vijay Kumar who killed all those heirs to the throne using a bitch (the worst of many who slept with the worst of our enemies) born among our people to usurp the power, which was left with Tamil mixed monarchy until the last one, a full Tamil, that led to all this calamity. Obviously you may not have an idea of what I am telling as Buddhists have almost succeeded in writing Sinhala history, if not for people like us.
You are totally out of touch with the reality. Let me tell you about future events to see whether you are going to be right. Over time, all this migrants of alien culture and dialects will disappear from our country. I do not want to tell much about Tamils as I do not see a future presence any where on the planet (for reasons that I am not privileged to divulge). I predict Sinhala people, the original type, not the bogus migrants labelling themselves, will become the dominant force as were before the rise of Hinduism. They say history repeats. We see it as much more than that. Unfortunately, those who fail to progress have become extinct over time. It is the right thing. If Sinhala people let that happen, we would never have had our problems. Sometimes, poking fingers is not enough to find what is inside a bag. We have opened it and found what was in it for our dismay.

Unfortunately, life is a naturally propagating product which has its own origin in the nature with a natural perspective. It is completely wrong to assume that what you say is right. It is also time to give the flick to religions that have brought so much tragedy to humanity. I can see the Buddhism, a way of self-destructive life, copied from ancient Sinhala knowledge blended with Hindu venom that kills humanity, soon becoming a classical study because it will be replaced by the right belief for Sinhala people. True Sinhala people can never ever be Buddhists. Sadly, I am one of them who understood that the hard way.
You say “… the one and only way of..” How arrogant of you. Do you know how these divisions within humanity occurred? I give you a little hint based on historical facts. All the humans on this planet have a single origin and at one time were the same people. Without knowing the problem in full, the solution offered is going to be worse than the problem. Lucky you are not a doctor as you could have beaten the record held by English man, Doctor Death.

You better keep up with changes and listen to the latest. If MR stuck to that line, he would have gone the same path like SF and will be history soon. Please note that MR (like SWRD) came to power because of Sinhala majority.

Expressing one’s opinion is freedom. In this case concerning the defence of national sovereignty of Heladiva (SL) calls for deep scrutiny. The suggestion put forward by the writer not knowing the real identity in this day, can be in vested interest. However, for the sake of readers a few words of caution won’t go amiss.

The writer proposes a “Tamil” prime minister yet wants to maintain sri lankan nationality is a contradiction in terms. The “Tamil prime minister” should be in Tamil Nadu (Tamil Country) is a self-evident fact and not in a host national country. The bane of this Island Country of Heladiva is its artificial nationhood of sri lankan without single natural identity, language and culture, which has given rise to illegal racist alien national Tamil entity, in gross violation of the island’s Sovereignty of the Indigenous Hela Nation.

Irresponsible and careless notion. Obama can be of any race, religion etc. But he upholds supreme American national sovereignty and there is no official place for his race, religion or culture. Nationality is a mindset, yet only one language, culture and religion sovereign within the American nation. If a Hela Citizen of Tamil race too evolves to the state of Obama, only then he qualifies for prime ministership, including a legally binding oath of total allegiance to the Hela Nation. Currently, if a “Tamil” becomes the prime minister, he will be attempting to convert the Hela Island into a secondTamil Nadu. May be he will need a basic geography lesson to locate his Tamil national country of Tamil Nadu to do his Tamilism!

Congratulations to SP from Kandy for having the courage to write what I hope are the silent sentiments of many
peace-loving reasonable SriLankans who wish to follow The Middle Path.I agree with all you have said BUT I WOULD SUGGEST THAT HAVING A SRI LANKAN OF TAMIL ORIGIN( accommadating the view of Anura Seneviratne)
IS BUT THE EASY FIRST STEP.

The bigger challenge is for all SriLankans of all races to change their communal mindset ingrained in all of us by two centuries of communal thinking instigated by a succession of colonial masters.This reqires statesman like thinking by our political leaders as exemplified by The Presidential addresses in May 2009 and on 4 Feb 2010 and the citizenery like SP from Kandy to lead the way.As the SL nation includes each one of us -Sinhala,Tamil,Muslim or whatever, we need to ask our individual conscience, can we draw a line under the past and make a fresh start to embrace our neighbour or work colleague or whoever of a different race to ourself without reservations in order to build a united SL where all individuals are treated equqally by the State AND by each one of us.The answer has to be yes and we owe it to our children lest our traumatic history repeats itself.
