I just read a news item in ColomboPage which said ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Time is slipping away in Sri Lanka for lasting peace, US concerned.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
You Yankees amaze me.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Having killed over 1.2 million innocent Iraqis who wanted to wake up and smell the roses the following morning, but you Yankees snuffed their lives having invaded Iraq on a lie. Because you were concerned that Saddam Hussein was piling up weapons of mass destruction which have not been found as yet. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ You had a reason why you invaded and got Saddam killed by his people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Right, Maria? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Oil!
And now you seem to be concerned about Sri Lanka as you pretend to be caring Yankees?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It wasnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t so when the Tamil Tiger terrorists were killing innocent civilians in the thousands for 30 bloody years and recruiting over 5,300 Tamil children to be their child soldiers and suicide bombers.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Then of course, understandably, there were no oil and gas finds along the west coastƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Mannar basin, nor were the geo-political realities that prominant, with Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s strategic position in ChinaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”string of pearlsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and the Colombo-Teheran ties.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IsnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t it Maria?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why do you Yankees feel that you all can fool the Asians and that we are a bunch of stupids?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was at 8:45 in the morning of September 11, 2001, when a black cloud obscured the top of the New YorkƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s World Trade CenterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s North Tower, moments after American Airline Flight 11, a Boeing 767 carrying 92 people crashed into the building.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was a terrorist attack.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And then at 9:03 the same morning the terrorists struck again, when the United Airline Flight 175, another ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ hijacked Boeing 767 jetliner smashed through the South Tower ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of the World Trade Centre sending flames and debris showering down on Church Street on the eastside of the skyscrapers below.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A terrorist attack and all of America were stunned and devastated.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Most of non-American Sri Lankans stood by you all and sang ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-God Bless AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ because they knew what terrorist attacks were which devastated their Sri Lanka and killed their people. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They were genuinely grieving with you Yankees,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By the time of those attacks ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka had already ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ endured 19 years of Tamil Tiger ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Made in IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ terrorism, and there wasnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t a single day when a claymore mine, a Kalashnikov bullet or a suicide bomb did not go off ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ killing hundreds of innocent people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That terrorism continued for another eight years and Sri Lanka has come out of hell with the end of the war on 19 May 2009, and in the final count there had been 388 suicide bombings, over 100 thousand of ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ innocent civilians dead, several political assassinations among them were two heads of state, Rajiv Gandhi of India and President Premadasa of Sri Lanka,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Foreign Minister Kadiragamar of Sri Lanka and three Mayors of Jaffna. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And Americans were lucky that your President Bush remained unscathed and was in tact in one piece after the end of the morning of 11 September, 2001.
So, Maria, US should back off and give Sri Lanka a break, a space to recover, reconcile and heal. That is humanity.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is civility.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is love and honesty.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ You Yankees donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t have to bully the Sri Lankans by dragging them through hell again.
And you heard Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Tamara Kunanayakam, a Tamil, strongly objecting to your comments at the UNHRC deliberations on Friday, March 3, warning of the hypocrisy and double standards, which would undermine gravely the legitimacy of the Council. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Only-two-and-a-half-months since the publication of LLRC report and three years after ending a 30 years of terrorism and separatism, the US seems to be impatient,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ she said.
Yes, Maria, she was right, why this vulgar hurry?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Just back off from Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Sri Lankans know what they are doing as much as they knew that the path to peace and reconciliation was to eliminate Tamil Tiger terrorism which was supported surreptitiously by India, the US, UK, Canada, France and Norway, and not kowtowing to the call for a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”ceasefireƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ at the 11th hour and 55th minute of the war by the US, UK, Canada ,France, Germany and Norway.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is what all this vindictiveness is about, isnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t it, Maria?

Yep Asoka Weerasinha yankees never cared for human rights. Just ask the Native Americans, no one is taking up what happened to the Native Americans. Oh yes they were dispossesed and slaughtered in their millions in their own homeland. Just pick on Sri Lanka instead half way around the world.
