I refer to the news item in todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s CT quoting Greens Senator Lee RhiannonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s demand for the expulsion of Admiral Samarasinghe the Sri Lankan High Commissioner.http://www.canberratimes.com.au/national/call-for-sri-lankan-envoys-expulsion-20120717-228qd.html The request purportedly madeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of alleged war crimes leveled against the Sri Lankan military on the last days of the war against the Tamil Terrorists in 2009. Admiral Samarasinghe was the head of the Sri Lankan Navy and was largely responsible in annihilating the Tamil Terrorists fleet that were transporting war materials to the conflict.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This Navy action contributed greatly in the defeat of the terrorists.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Admiral SamarasingheƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s statement that the Sri Lankan navy had recently turned back several boats transporting hundreds of Tamils trying to reach Australia and Australia should do the same, was genuine advice given to a friendly Commonwealth country that is faced with the arrival of asylum seekers. Senator Rhiannon should verify all her facts before making unsubstantiated allegations against the High Commissioner.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Surely giving advice to turn back boats does not make a person a war criminal. It is common knowledge that these so called Tamil refugees fleeing Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ three and half years after hostilities ceasedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  are really economic refugees attempting to join hundreds of their countrymen who entered Australia after conning the easy going Aussies backed by the Tamil Diaspora’sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  former refugees.

Senator Lee Rhiannon should verify all her facts before making unsubstantiated allegations against the Sri Lankan high commissioner, Thisara Samarasinghe. Samarasinghe’s statement that the Sri Lankan navy had recently turned back several boats transporting hundreds of Tamils trying to reach Australia was genuine advice given to a friendly Commonwealth country that is faced with the arrival of asylum seekers.

It is common knowledge that these so-called Tamil refugees fleeing Sri Lanka 3ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚½ years after hostilities ceased are really economic refugees attempting to join hundreds of their countrymen who entered Australia after conning the easy-going Aussies backed by the Tamil Diaspora’s former refugees.

I do not understand why the Sri Lankan government spend so much money and effort to stop these ungrateful Tamils leaving for Australia. If the Australian governments position is that the Tamils in Sri Lanka are harassed by the Sri Lankans they should take them to Australia and the Sri Lankan government should help these ungrateful Tamils to leave for Australia. This will solve a lot of problems to the Sri Lankan government and it can spent the vast resources invested in the north and east to help the rural Sinhala population.

    SarathW:

It is the developed countries in the west decide everything.

Western developed countries promote skilled – educated and the best brains to migrate to their countries. Because, that helps to build their economy through new innovations. But, when these non-skilled uneducated refugees leave the country, the country is accused for letting these people escape and the country will be punished through trade sanctions like things.

Anyway, Greens are a very marginal political force. they scream these all extremist things in order to score politically. So, ask Sri Lankan to chase Greens away when they come to their homes asking votes.

  4. Lorenzo Says:

Let these ungrateful people leave. Don’t stop them.

Australia is the ONLY developed country that has NOT banned the LTTE.

    Let them pay for this!!
