The Plan is to Subjugate Muslims-Third Response to Shenali Waduge
Posted on February 6th, 2013
Hameed Abdul Karim
This halaal certificate affair keeps coming up in Shenali WadugeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s every argument, despite the fact that I explained this in my very first response. So I am compelled to repeat myself. The halaal issue popped up when non-Muslim restaurants like McDonaldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s, Pizza Hut and KFC opened shop here. It was they who approached Jamaithul Ullama for this endorsement so that they could cater to Muslim clients fearing that if they didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t have this certificate they would lose out on the Muslim consumer. As far as I know only these three establishments ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”hangƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ these certificates. I can understand her ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”grievancesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ if you find halaal certificates ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”hangingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in Saiva or Sinhala Kamay Kades dotted all over the country. The halaal certificate is not compulsory as Shenali would have us believe. A popular biscuit factory, a soap factory and a foreign food outlet have rejected the halaal certificate. No Muslim is complaining. But of course you wouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t expect Muslims to buy these products or eat at outlets that proclaim they are not halaal. And I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t think anybody should find fault with us over this.
Why Halaal?
Moreover, much as certain quarters would dislike this, the halaal certificate assures the strictest of vegetarians among us that the halaal tag on biscuits, soaps and other consumer products are for their benefit. The halaal certificate ensures them that no lard or any animal substance has been used in the production of these items. Lard is derived from pig fat. The Vegetarian Society of England is rather fussy about ensuring that no such stuff gets into biscuits or other consumer products in the UK. Just look at how Thailand, a Thervada Buddhist nation, has gone about the halaal certificate issue. The Thai government is directly involved in ensuring the halaal tag is strictly adhered to and this has boosted their exports tremendously.
The Sunday Times of February 3, 2013 quotes Moulavi Mubarak saying that the ACJU is all too willing to stop issuing halaal certification, but he adds that Economic Minister Hon. Basil Rajapaksa has requested him not to do that. What now? Is Basil Rajapaksa also a part of the halaal ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”conspiracyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢?
On the same page of the said , we have a Buddhist monk telling us that he has ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”reliableƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ evidence that Muslims are been trained in terrorist activists. If that is the case then what have the CID, Police or the Military intelligence been doing? ShouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t such pronouncements come from them?
Besides if the Muslim issue of halaal tag was the major concern, tell me why churches and kovils come under attack?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why are Christian pastors being assaulted? Why, only the other day a statue of Mother Mary was damaged in an act of vandalism. DoesnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t this suggest that there is a campaign underway in the country against all minorities?
Non-Muslim Judges
In a previous article she has claimed that there were no non-Muslim judges in Muslim countries, but because of space constraints I avoided answering that question. Well, there are non Muslim judges in Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan.
Justice Rana Bhagwandas a Hindu was a senior judge of the Pakistani judiciary. He served as the acting chief justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan at a crucial time during the judicial crisis in Pakistan. Presently he is chairman of the Federal Public Service. He was the third non-Muslim chief justice in Pakistan. Incidentally the percentage of non-Muslims in Pakistan is only 3%.
Churches, Kovils and Temples
There are many churches, Kovils and Temples in Muslim countries. There is a Kovil in UAE for Hindus and a Gurdhwara for Sikhs as well. Buddhist temples are found in Malaysia and Indonesia. DonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t forget the Borobudur site in Indonesia. It was built in the 9th century and today it is the Cultural Heritage Triangle.
In Kuwait too there are churches despite the fact that there are only 200 Kuwaiti Christians. Many Churches exist in Kuwait. Kuwait’s largest cathedral is situated in the eastern part of Kuwait city .And all over Arab/Muslim lands there are so many churches that you will lose count. A famous one in Iraq was bombed by the Americans in what they call the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”First Gulf WarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.
There are numerous and kovils in Pakistan scattered all over the country. I have personally visited one church in Lahore. I also had the good fortune of visiting the famous Sikh temple there. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Moreover, Pakistan takes great pride in preserving its Buddhist sites in Taxila and about a year or so ago they sent Buddhist artifacts for display in Sri Lanka as a gesture of goodwill.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Long years ago I met two Buddhist monks from Kashmir and they told me there were Buddhist monasteries in existence and they have had no trouble at all with the freedom fighters there. There are numerous churches in Iran as well as synagogues. Moreover, Pakistan and Iran have reserved seats in their respective parliaments for minority groups.
Now that I have said this let me say that I suspect there is a subtle attempt to create rifts between minority communities in Sri Lanka. Buddhist and Christian priests I associate with share the same view.
In her alarmist views Shenali Waduge creates a picture to indicate that there is a huge conspiracy to finish off Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Nothing could be further from the truth. Her statement that the Saudi authorities donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t permit religious books into the country is true. This includes Islamic books also, as so many Muslims who go on pilgrimage will testify.
Cultural Hegemony
Once again Shenali Waduge complains about the way some Muslim women dress and states this as an attempt to segregate themselves on the footing of a separate identity. The Muslims all along in history have maintained a separate identity based on their faith. And to impose on them a Western form of dressing on the basis that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”when in Rome do as the Romans doƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is akin to another saying. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Monkeys see monkeys doƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.
Instead of constantly berating us on our faith, traditions and customs with such callous disregard and without any concern for our feelings it would be a good idea for Shenali Waduge to accept us as we are.
Sharia and other lawsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Once again Waduge brings the Sharia to the forefront of her arguments and I think I have dealt with this subject before. So just let me say that the Sharia is not the only law outside the Roman Dutch law that we practice. We have the Kandyan Law which lays down separate rules for those who come under its purview. According to Dr. Wickrama Weerasooriya ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Kandyan law has peculiar rules relating to succession, inheritance, marriage, adoption, and donation, the greater part of which has now been codifiedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. There is also the Buddhist Ecclesiastical Law. Dr. Weerasooriya says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”recognition of principles of Buddhist Law is evidenced in the recent decision of the Court of Appeal in Rev Keselwatugoda Chandananda Thero v Rev Sirimalwatte Ananda Mahanayake Thero(1997).ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Then we have the Thesawalamai law, which is a code of custom, legal rules and principles applicable to Tamils of the Jaffna Province. Dr. Weerasooriya says that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”although the Kandyan law and the Thessawalamai are noteworthy for their essentially secular character, the Buddhist law and Hindu law are also applicable in Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢
Right throughout Shenali WadugeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s comments you will find a strain that is hostile to Islam and the Sharia. On previous occasions I have responded by giving authorities like Judge Weeramantry and John Makdisi of Harvard University. Both say that the Sharia has contributed immensely to both domestic laws in various countries and to international law as well.
If the Sharia law was medieval or outdated why then do we find so many non-Muslim institutions opening up Sharia based finance companies all over the world. Would these non-Muslims be considered ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”extremistsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢?
LincolnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Inn in England has acknowledged the Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) as one of the greatest law givers. More recently Harvard Law University has placed the following verse from the QurƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢an in its lobby.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Oh you have believed; stand out firmly for justice as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your relatives and whether it be against rich or poor. For Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lust of your hearts, lest you not be just. And if you distort (your testimony) or refuse to do justice, certainly Allah is well acquainted with you doƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (QurƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢an Sura 4:135.)
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 1915
The causes that Waduge give for the 1915 are disputed. For nearly a thousand years the Muslims and Sinhalese had co-existed in peace and harmony whilst they served as officials ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”in the administration of state as well as of Buddhist monasteriesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, according to Lorna Dewaraja in her seminal book ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The Muslims of Sri Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” One Thousand Years of Ethnic HarmonyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”It is noteworthyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ she says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”that Muslims were functionaries in the Temple of the Tooth and participated in the ritual of the Asala Maha Perehera. This process of the structural assimilation which took place without any erosion of the cultural distinctiveness of the Muslims is perhaps unique in minority majority relationsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. In such an environment itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s hard to believe that the causes of the riots were faith based. According to certain sources, the reason was commercial rivalry.
But is it proper to constantly harp on what happened nearly a hundred years ago? Makes you wonder if there is a sinister agenda lurking somewhere in the shadows? When writing on subjects of this nature we should ensure interpreting historyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s negative factors do not get overemphasised. Would someone in 2083, when most of us will be dead and gone, talk about the July 1983 riots to sell a few points? ShouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t we be ashamed of these incidents and try to remain silent on such negative factors?
Pehlvan
Waduge refers to the conflict between Muslims over the Pehlavan issue. ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s true that things had turned bad, but today there is hardly a reference to that issue. A similar incident took place between Buddhists when a Sri Lankan monk wanted to introduce the Mahayana sect of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, but the matter was sorted and no one from any other faith in the country ever accused the Sinhala Buddhists of extremism. But when something of this nature happens in the Muslim community all sorts of allegations and accusations of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”extremismƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ hit the headlines.
ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s true that the two southern insurrections had nothing to do with faith. But the fact remains that faith, language and religion of both parties which were the same did not prevent the horrible bloodletting. But when such issues crop up among Muslims, Ms. Waduge will be quick to blame Islam for the cause of the conflict.
Anuradhapura Times
Ms. Shenali Waduge subtly accuses me of uttering a fib when I quoted the destruction of the Muslim shrine in Anuradhapura. She says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”It is advised not to create or change history for political advantageƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. This I feel is very unfair because I, as a practice, always stick to facts. As a rule I always get my articles checked by two Buddhist and two Muslim friends for any inaccuracy or mistake on my part. That how scrupulous I am when I write on these issues.
Let me quote Ms. Lorna Dewaraja to show that Muslims were present during the Anuradhapura times. On page 25 she says Mantota was the chief port of the Anuradhapura Kingdom and there was a highway connecting it with the capital. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Consequently Mantota became for the Arab traders what it had been for the Persians, a great emporium for the East-West trade. Archeological excavations in and around Mantota have unearthed Middle Eastern ceramics ware approximately dated between the 8th and 11th centuries ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢Three Arabic inscriptions erected over Muslim burials have been unearthed in this area ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦All these have been attributed on epigraphical grounds to the 9th and 10th centuriesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ confirming Arab presence in the ports in the late Anuradhapura periodƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Recent excavations in certain archeological sites in Sri Lanka, undertaken by UNESCO Cultural Triangle Project have unearthed what are knownƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-SassanianƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IslamicƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ ceramic storage jars approximately dated from the 7th to 9th centuriesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Some of these have been found among the ruins of the ancient hospital site at Mihintale in AnurdhapuraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.Middle Eastern ceramic jars dated in twelfth and thirteenth centuries have been found, denoting the continuation of the commercial contacts during the Polonaruwa period.
As a matter of fact Arabs were there in Anuradhapura prior to the birth of Islam. I quote Lorna Dewaraja from page 46 of her book that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The Sinhalese seem to have made a distinction between the early Arab settlers ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and the later Muslim migrants from South India. Pandukabhaya (377-307 BC) set aside land in his capital of Anurdhapura for the use of the Yonas who were pre-Islamic Arab traders who visited the capital. Here she is quoting the Mahavamsa X-90 making it impossible for Ms. Waduge to dispute her. Ms. Dewaraja, quoting the 15th century Sinhala literary works known as Sandesas, says that they refer to Yon Liyas or Arab women.
Misrepresenting Facts
Ms. Waduge states and I quote ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”the demolition (of the Muslim shrine in Anuradhapura) was a valid and legitimate exercise carried out by the StateƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. This statement of hers is an arrogant exercise in duplicity. There was no court order neither was the demolition carried out by state agencies. It was carried out by a mob headed by Buddhist monks and the police became helpless spectators to the vandalism. A picture on BBC shows a Buddhist monk burning a flag that he had removed from the shrine.
King Senarath
The general impressions conveyed to the public by Shenali Waduge is that Muslims were lazy and good for nothing fellows and so the generous Sinhala kings gave them lands and privileges to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”civiliseƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ them or help them escape the Portuguese persecution.
ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s true that King Senarath gave refuge to Muslims. But this is only half the story. Here is the other half. Ms. Lorna Dewaraja says in her book on page 63-64 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”King SenarathƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s objective was in settling Muslims in the fertile lands around Batticaloa, was to maintain food supplies during his campaigns. The KingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s far sighted policy which was mutually beneficial resulted in quick recovery of the kingdom as is proved by the successes of his campaign of 1628 and 1630.
Muslim Contributions ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Ms. Lorna Dewaraja reports of occasions where Sinhala kings had sought the services of Muslims to fight their enemies. Muslims fought in Mayadunne and later his son RajasinhaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s battles against the Portuguese. They were also employed as envoys to secure assistance from the rulers of Calicut and also served as gunmen that the army was lacking inƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.
It was the Muslims who took Sri Lanka to the world, exporting the produce of the land and enriching the kings. And during the worst of oppression under the colonialists the Sinhalese wilted under pressure and changed their loyalties and took the faith of the conquering armies. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ No Muslim did that. No Muslim bartered ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”God for goldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. They stuck to their faith, traditions and customs and today we have people like Shenali Waduge telling us to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”do as the Romans doƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. The plan, I suspect, is to force Muslims to change their faith, customs and traditions. The plan is to subjugate Muslims and not allay BuddhistsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ fears. God willing, that wonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t happen.
We have to be accepted today as the kings of yore accepted us. We are much a part of the Sri Lanka landscape as the Sinhalese and the Tamils and the Burghers. S.W.R.D Bandaranaike had said ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”the Ceylon Moors have been in Ceylon as long as we the Sinhalese have been hereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.

“Why, only the other day a statue of Mother Mary was damaged in an act of vandalism.”
It was done by Arab extremists! In their religion women are not venerated! Who threw stones at the Hulftsdop Presbitarian church? Same people. Who bulldozed Buddhist shrines in Amapara area? Same people. Who killed all the Buddhists in Maldives, Nalanda, etc? Same people.
Stop thrwoing stones hiding inside a glass house.
“There are many churches, Kovils and Temples in Muslim countries.”
Please give the address of a Kovil or a Buddhist temple in Saudi Arabia. Thank you.

Hameed, Pls. don’t use selective arguments to support your case… Thessawalamai law was enforced by Dutch to SL by force and should have removed from our legal code long time ago… We do have problem with our legal code due to imperial invasions and there are no excuse to use those here now.
Lets take halal issue on different context. As far as SL law is concern all the local standards and hygiene conditions are done by Sl govt. If you want halal then work with the govt. dept to certify them and NOT by a group out side the law of the country.
Re. muslim extremist operating in SL, it is a fact and authorities know who they are and their funding sources.. If you are a good muslim I suggest you look after your flock by getting rid of Whabism and extremism.

Looks like this “Lorna Dewaraja ” is the only one has knowledge about Sri lanka, beside Allah.
Check with your 2 muslim and 2 buddhist friends and please give the address of a Kovil or a Buddhist temple in Saudi Arabia. Thank you.

Whenever I hear these arguments, the picture that comes to my mind is how Muslim invaders destroyed much of Indian Buddhist heritage – the word Nalanda comes my mind. We saw a snippet with the Bahamian Buddha statutes.
I see many literature on the Internet supporting a theory that in its characteristics, Islam is a ‘cult’ and not a ‘religion’ in terms of accepted norms of the other major religions of society.

Hameed Abdul Karim
More than half of the verses in the Koran talks about unbelievers. Hence, we unbelievers have every right to talk about Islam and Muslims.
Although Ms Waduge has written about specific points and instances, in my opinion, emphasis of her writing has been the impending threat to Sinhala Buddhists by Muslim expansionism. Hence, my comment about this write up is in that direction.
It is evident from recent population census that the birth rate among Muslims is significantly higher than that of others. Unless Sri Lanka put a stop to this, in spite of what Hameed Abdul Karim says, we will end up like Bangladesh, Afghanistan etc one day.
Muslims follow Muhammad’s life example. Perfect Muslim follows it to the letter. Read this to understand how he changed his tactics to increase number of his followers
When Muhammad started preaching about ‘Allah’ in Mecca first, he faced no opposition. But when he began to preach ‘there is No God but Allah’, Meccans disapproved or rather persecuted him. When persecution got intense, his followers started to run. Although accepting idols is contrary to his ‘One God’ teaching, Muhammad had to publish a revelation recognizing three Meccan idols, Lat, Ozza and Manah, as intercessors with Allah to protect himself and his followers in 616. Indeed his own tribe, Korayshites who had to run fell down on their faces in adoration of Allah. By and by, Muhammad obtained other important converts, among whom were Abu Bakr, Zobayr and Othman, afterwards the caliph.
No sooner Muhammad increased the number of followers, he became ashamed of the weakness by which he had purchased public support. Those verses were struck out of the Koran and the weakness was attributed to the devil. That is explained in Sura 22:52 and 53; “but God shall bring to naught that which Satan had suggested. Thus, shall God affirm his revelations, for God is all knowing, wise. That he may make that which Satan hath injected, a trial to those in whose hearts is a disease, and whose hearts are hardened.”
We should expect such tactics from Muslims in Sri Lanka today for they are a minority now. Once they pass a certain threshold, I have this feeling that they will be worse than LTTE.
Read this: “Mohammed is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are harsh to the unbelievers but merciful to one another”. Koran 48:29

These guys should learn to live like the Chinese when they live in a different country. There are Chinese communities in every major town in Sri Lanka. They have been living in those places for hundreds of years and nobody notices their presence. They haven’t taken over any of the towns in the country. They haven’t multiplied like you lot. This is the case everywhere they went in the world. Peaceful, peace loving and they get on with their lives integrating into the society. Muslims? They want halal, they want moques every street corner. Destory natives’ heritage. They mulitiply like rabbits. Then with the incrased numbers they get mayors, deputy mayors, ministers, deputy minsters. etc. etc… and get into the government and thanks to two major parties’ bikering they make the government of the day to dance to to their tunes. Then they want shariya law. Evantually turning the country into Islamic country. We all know how people live in countries like Libiya, Syria, Afganisthan, Pakisthan etc. Hell on earth. Is that what we want in Sri Lanka with you lot? Of course not! This is what they done to Egypt, Afganisthan, Pakisthan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia. Sri Lankans are fed up with your demands and deeds. Doors are open. Nobody will miss you! Nobody will shed a tear for you! We are sick and tired with your lot. We can not believe they still had the nerve to complain to the President about people protesting against them. We can’t imagine why people protesting against such nice people.

It is true vegetarians have strict dietary requirements…… thanks to them the lives of so many animals are saved!
ALSO
Vegetarians do not sacrifice innocent animals
Vegetarians do not build places of worship every 100m
Vegetarians do not preach hate against non-vegetarians and are not hellbent on making the world 100% vegetarian
There are no vegetarian suicide bombers
Vegetarians do not multiply in an unsustainable manner with the intent of subjugating non-vegetarians by power of numbers
Vegetarians do not promote outdated values that belong to the distant past in the modern humane world
Vegetarians are not offended by Lego hamburgers or steaks
Vegetarians are not insecure and afraid of non-vegetarians asking questions
Vegetarians do not make fantastic claims (no “miracles”) their arguments are based upon solid evidence (fewer heart attacks and strokes!)
Vegetarians do not kill a fellow vegetarian who decides to gives up vegetarianism
Vegetarians do not amputate, behead, stone or patrol the streets to see if people are living according to their “vegetarian law”
Vegetarian women do not have to dress up like an egg plant or tomato
So nobody around the world has a problem with vegetarians!

There are Multiple Solutions to this problem. The problem of the religions beliefs.
When any of these religions, Buddhism, Wahhabism, Hinduism, Christianism, Judaism, Jainism are compared side by side, there are differences. However, when the scientific method and reason are applied to any of these so called religions, there is no data to support as to their claims of after life, Hell, Heaven, Nirvana, Rebirth , etc.
So you all are are chasing a mirage and fighting with each other for nothing, and the priests and their henchmen are the winners.
Produce the data and facts and convince, just like Copernicus, Galileo and Kepler. Even The great philosophers, Aristotle etc. were wrong sometimes.
Possible Solutions:
1. Declare in the Country’s Constitution, Separation of Church and State, like in the United States. No religion will be promoted. Religion is a private matter for each citizen. Thomas Jefferson was correct. He studied European history well.
2. Let the market forces of supply and demand dictate what is offered and what is not, provided it is safe . For example Whale meat.
3. There is current demand for meat products. If everybody goes Vegetarian, the demand for meat products will be zero and there would be no need for Kosha and Halal. Besides it is healthy and the country as a whole will save on medical expenses in treating obese citizens. Too bad for hospitals, doctors and medical schools.
4. Feeding plant foods to animals and then eating the animal meat for human consumption is very energy inefficient, creates too many steps and too much waste. Avoid the middlemen, the middle animal. Let the animal live. The animal will be lucky. Will not be killed and no need to follow a religion, chanting and praying all day long with and without loud speakers.
5. Can come up with a Sri Lanka Vegetarian Amendment like they had in USA, banning alcohol, banning meat. The Eighteenth Amendment (Amendment XVIII) of the United States Constitution established prohibition of alcoholic beverages in the United States. After all in Wahabi Saudi Arabia, alcohol is still banned. Drink it and get 80 lashes.
6. Have another amendment later to repeal the no meat amendment. Drink and eat meat all day. Become fat and obese. Good for hospitals and doctors. The amendment was repealed in 1933 by ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment, the only instance in United States history that a constitutional amendment was repealed.
7. Ban noise pollution. Define and say is has to be below a certain decibels, like the speed limit, the noise limit.
8. Do do dance the whims of Priests, Monks and Mullahs who try to control the innocents for their own advantage like the Mullah Republic of Iran, Wahhabi Theocracy of Arabia etc. Keep the county clean and secular. See how Europe developed after the reformation, fighting the Priests and the Protestant Schism helped, even though martin Luther had his own hang ups like hating the Jews.
Do you see where the problem is? The answer is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.
Let the free market forces without religious pressure and state sponsored religious intolerance decide.

WARNING TO SRI LANKANS
Contrary to what Hameeds and Swmeer Khans are saying, this is what awaits Sri Lanka in future. UK is already in trouble and so are other European countries. Following is a copy paste from SyndiGate.info
You are entering a Muslim Zone! ‘Sharia law zones’ posters in UK warn
Published July 28th, 2012 – 14:22 GMT via SyndiGate.info
Islamic extremists in Britain have launched a poster campaign across the country proclaiming areas where ‘Sharia law enforcement zones’ have been set up. The posters read, ‘You are entering a Sharia-controlled zone – Islamic rules enforced.’
The messages on the posters says that in the ‘zone’ there should be ‘no gambling’, ‘no music or concerts’, ‘no porn or prostitution’, ‘no drugs or smoking’ and ‘no alcohol’.
According to the Daily Mail, hate preacher Anjem Choudary has claimed responsibility for the scheme, saying he plans to flood specific Muslim and non-Muslim communities around the UK and ‘put the seeds down for an Islamic Emirate in the long term’.
“We now have hundreds if not thousands of people up and down the country willing to go out and patrol the streets for us and a print run of between 10,000 and 50,000 stickers ready for distribution,” Choudary said.
“There are 25 areas around the country which the Government has earmarked as areas where violent extremism is a problem. We are going to go to all these same areas and implement our own Sharia-controlled zones,” he said.
“This is the best way for dealing with drunkenness and loutishness, prostitution and the sort of thug life attitude you get in British cities,” he added.
In the past week, dozens of streets in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Newham have been targeted, raising fears that local residents may be intimidated or threatened for flouting ‘Islamic rules’.
Choudary also said he was organizing a protest against the Far Right in Waltham Forest this weekend following last Friday’s killing spree in Norway by anti-Islamic gunman Anders Breivik.
DON’T BELIEVE MUSLIMS PEP TALKS. ACT NOW OR IT WILL BE TOO LATE.

So, it is a religious duty. The Orthodox Jews do not work on Saturdays as directed by God, do not travel and do not take cars.
Well, that is their religion.
Regarding Hijab:
Catholic Nuns cover their Heads and hair. The conservative Wahhabis want the women to do the same, even though it was not apparently required by Islam, whatever the scholars say.
Some of these scholars are out of their minds.

Gentlemen,
I think we should IMMEDIATELY STOP blaming Islamics now.
We can’t fight ALL our enemies (TE, AQ, MFs) at once.
We have to look at HOW we can DOMESTICATE the Indian-AQ/Pak fight in SL.
That will elimiate BOTH our main threats.
How do you think Israel surives in a MASSIVE hostile neighborhood? Shia verses Sunni!!
How does the soft tongue survive between 32 sharp teeth? By pitting the upper teeth against lower teeth and pushing food between them!!!
Few days ago Shia a-mad-in-a-jacket visited Sunni Egypt. Very dangerous if they patch up. What happened. Someone killed Shia leader in Tunesia. Now they are back to violence.

Ranjith, Muslims are particularly concerned to convert white-European countries people (including Jews) because many of the Arabs are racists. They think white westerners are “people of the book” (even though describing them as “infidels”) and they have a special mission to convert them. Us Sri Lankans, Indians, Africans, Asians etc are “KAFFAR”, (pagans, idolaters and sorcerors). Unlike the British, us Sri Lankans dont have to worry about conversions to Islam. As long as we cover up our legs, we will not be molested. Peace.

Mr Karim,
Religion is a state mind and the best religion is the one that makes a person better. It is the right of each and every person to follow any religion and have faith in whatever or whoever believe in whether it may be right or wrong, but should not impose on,or harm or inconvenience others.
Islam, Christianity (including Mormonism), Judaism are all all believe in the god of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. But they have taken different paths who believe the path they have taken is the correct one.
As far as I know, in Sri lanka, there was always Halal meat available because most slaughtering( except pigs) were done by Muslims and there was no problem and people consumed what was available. The Muslims and the rest ate the other foods and there was no question about Halal. Then why now?thus causing an unnecessary situation.
If all the foods were labelled “Blessed by the Buddhist clergy” chanting pirith will the Muslims protest.
We do not have to worry about Thailand labelling their products Halal. I buy a lot of canned foods made in Thailand in the USA but so far has not seen any Halal mark. When we have my Muslim friends come over for dinner, as a respect for them we only serve Halal meat purchased from the Pakistani store. I don’t see the other foods they sell carry the Halal label.
So Mr Karim, as you claim Islam is a peaceful religion and order to avoid conflicts which will not help any one ,go back to the way it was. If the Muslims insist on the Halal label start your own production and exclusive Halal stores. If anyone else wants, they too can buy from these stores. Let there be a choice.

Go to Saudi Arabia. In the Airport your luggage will be checked. Lord Buddha status and Christian crosses will be binned. There is a garbage bin waiting for Jesus Christ and Lord Buddha. In comparison, Sri Lanka is the most tolerant nation in the world. I can not think of any non-Islamic nation which respect Islam as Sri Lankans do. Sri Lankan Muslims should realize this and learn to live in harmony with the majority Sri Lankans. Respect the ways of the majority.
WHEN IN ROME, DO AS ROMANS DO. WHEN IN SRI LANKA, DO AS SRI LANKANS DO.

These cunning hypocritical muslims who contribute to this forum ignore the questions on nalanda and quaran verses insiting violance these fools fear and have a blind faith in allah and the messenger mohomed their wisdom is drowned by quoran and there is no room for muslim man to think as buddhism allows eg kaalaamer suttra not a single verse in quoran invites ‘thinking’ but just hammer out orders which instill in minds of fools – pure blind faith on a dogma

Pray 5 times a day? Our experience is you can’t trust a word they say. Their deeds are no better. Quietly multiplying taking over town after town in our country while we were fighting LTTE to save this land for future generations. Still think they are model citizens on this land. Our army even had to save their lives from LTTE brutality. This 5 times a day business is a con trick. They set up these praying huts in every corner on the pretext of putting the bum up and then become a nuisance to the Sinhalese. Then they leave the area leaving it to the lebbes. After that baby machines move in. Town is overwhelmed. Get it? Has anybody ever heard anybody gone to heavens from this world in the history of mankind? Only Buddhism has an acceptable answer to after life. If you’ve done good deeds, you become a better person in your next life. Then you keep improving life after life until you finally stop being born. Suffering ends. The religion of peace has a short cut. Put bum up 5 times a day and you’re there into the arms of seven virgins waiting for you. Very very short cut. Don’t forget it’s for men only. Anybody else think it’s a cheat’s way. It is total total absurdity to and right thinking person.

We need to stop trashing any religion.Let any one follow any religion or any faith, blindly or intelligently without interference it to other faiths. What we sinhala people need to do is, whatever religion, caste or class we belong to, is t unite and help our businesses to thrive. We being the majority can crush financially all those who are causing these problems.
When Muamar Gadafi visited Sri Lanka in the 70’s for the Non Aligned Conference, at a gathering of some Muslim youths, if I remember correct at the Holiday Inn, told them that, in order to spread Islam, it will only be necessary to to produce more children and it seems to be happening in Sri Lanka and other places.

From adaderana.lk
“A Sri Lankan migrant has launched a political party in Australia that runs on an anti-multiculturalism platform.
Rise Up Australia already boasts about 1,500 members and plans to run 65 candidates in the upcoming federal election.
“Rise Up Australia Party, which is committed to keeping Australia for Australians, is utterly and completely opposed to multiculturalism,” says Rise Up Australia’s founder Daniel Nalliah.
The Sri Lankan-born pastor draws on his own migrant past in defence of assimilation.
That message has the backing of international figures.
“If you come here, then follow Pastor Danny’s example and enjoy it and celebrate it and do not seek to destroy it,” said Christopher Monckton from the UK Independence Party.
The leader of the new party has come under fire in the past for anti-Islamic comments, but he wasn’t backing away from making controversial statements again today.
If elected, Rise Up wants to restrict the number of Muslims calling Australia ‘home’.
The party has 1,500 supporters across the country, and is putting forward 52 candidates in the Lower House and a dozen in the Senate in the upcoming federal election.
“If we’re not careful, we’re going to lose this country,” said a supporter. “I don’t want to see Sharia Law in Australia,” said another.
But Iqbal Patel from Muslims Australia says that’s far from happening.
“Nobody wants to impose Sharia law in Australia, I mean, far from it. That’s the last thing that anybody wants to do”.
The Vice-President of the Muslim association insists it’s a free country, and supporters of Rise Up can vote as they chose.
“If they want to try and get any mileage on the backs of Muslims, and blame Muslims for all the ills of Australia, then I think that itself is very short-sighted of them,” he said.
But he says it’s sad that someone would exploit Islam for political gain. – SBS”

What has muslims done for Sri Lanka except exploit the Sinhala villagers through the “Maha kades” and Muslim hotels? Have they ever stood for SL or shed any blood for SL?
On the contrary, they have always benefitted from the good will of the Sri Lankan Buddhists, Christians and the Hindus. They colonize SL through their muslim conclaves, expanding them by leaps and bounds by purchasing adjoining properties with the help of the mosques and the external muslim organizations dedicated to muslimizing the world by procreating in the largest possible numbers and expanding their bases gradually. They never integrate, but isolate themselves into exclusive conclaves. Just look what has happened in any muslim village, eg. Ampara, Polonnaruwa, Colombo, Galle, Akurana, Gampola etc etc. They buy the properties adjoining their own villages and ethnically cleanse these areas to the exclusion of anyone belonging to any other religion. It is said that the koran says to “kill the infidels” and if they believe in this, they will they not act accordingly? Is this tolerable this day and age? You be the judge.
The following is excerpt from an article I read, which gives some pointers towards the behaviour of the muslims.
=============
“Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to
agitate for their religious privileges.
When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies
agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the
other components tend to creep in as well.
Here’s how it works:
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any
given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a
peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is
the case in:
United States — Muslim 0.6%
Australia — Muslim 1.5%
Canada — Muslim 1.9%
China — Muslim 1.8%
Italy — Muslim 1.5%
Norway — Muslim 1.8%
At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities
and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and
among street gangs. This is happening in:
Denmark — Muslim 2%
Germany — Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
Spain — Muslim 4%
Thailand — Muslim 4.6%
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to
their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for
the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby
securing food preparation jobs for Muslims They will increase pressure
on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with
threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
France — Muslim 8%
Philippines — Muslim 5%
Sweden — Muslim 5%
Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow
them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the
Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia
law over the entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase
lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris,
we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends
Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with
opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions
are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:
Guyana — Muslim 10%
India — Muslim 13.4%
Israel — Muslim 16%
Kenya — Muslim 10%
Russia — Muslim 15%
After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad
militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian
churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%
At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror
attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
Bosnia — Muslim 40%
Chad — Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers
of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic
ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya,
the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
Albania — Muslim 70%
Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%
Qatar — Muslim 77.5%
Sudan — Muslim 70%
After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run
ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out
the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been
experienced and is on-going in:
Bangladesh — Muslim 83%
Egypt — Muslim 90%
Gaza — Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%
Iran — Muslim 98%
Iraq — Muslim 97%
Jordan — Muslim 92%
Morocco — Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan — Muslim 97%
Palestine — Muslim 99%
Syria — Muslim 90%
Tajikistan — Muslim 90%
Turkey — Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates — Muslim 96%
100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House
of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a
Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only
word, such as in:
Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
Somalia — Muslim 100%
Yemen — Muslim 100%
Unfortunately , peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the
most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their
blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.”

What Vijendra says is 100% true.
“At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.”
I think this happened in SL about 100 years ago. Then they teamed up with TEs as “TAMIL SPEAKING LOSERS” and created trouble.
“From 5% – 10%, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply.”
“At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.”
SL Muslims are 9.5% now. So this applies. It is true! Halal! Kalmunai, Slave Island, etc. ghettos!
What’s next for SL?
“When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats.”
Scenaios. A plane accidently crashes into a large gathering of Wahabis in SL. Only men gather because women are prohibited. If 20,000 of them perish, that = 80,000 widows.
