Why are our children disgracing the country by joining the anti-Sri Lanka lobbies?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Ernest Perera

It saddens me to see how many of our children who are now grown up men and women holding important posts opt to take the path of ridiculing the nation that they were born in, the nation they grew up and a nation that holds good and bad memories for their parents and loved ones. Having differences of opinion with the government does not necessitate a person to join a chorus of people that are out to destabilize a nation. That is downright immoral and a folly that should cease forthwith.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It saddens me greatly to hear people write and speak in such hateful ways of our country, create lies, make up reports that are filled with baseless allegations and do everything in their power to distribute these all over the world in a tarnishing campaign that makes them no better than the known enemy. In my eyes these people are far worse than the enemy.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If they so hate Sri Lanka, abhor the leaders and disagree with everything in the country why do they remain to live in agony in Sri Lanka?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am sure the very nations that fund their hate campaigns will give them residency in their nations. Our country would be a better place without them poisoning the air we breathe. What lessons are they teaching their own children in the manner they behave? No child wishes to have a traitor as a parent!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ No Government can give every citizen what he/she desires. Third World Governments function within tremendous pressures. They donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t make things easier by their own selfish and corrupt ways but a closer look at the politicians of present day ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” we can conclude that all of them are no different and certainly no better. There are no statesmen of the caliber we remember. We have only opportunist politicians in government and opportunist opposition politicians. They divide power between them and fool the masses between them. That formula never changes and we are fools if we believe otherwise.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I do not wish to name and shame the men and women who are working toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ embarrassƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ our nation but the people who are openly ridiculing our nation will enter everyone’s minds without much difficulty ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” do they not know that the people are aware of their traitorous ways. Are they so hallucinated by the fact that they are doing right in criticizing the nation and openly mocking our country that they think themselves as heroes and heroines? Just because they are getting foreign accolades for doing so?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

I believe this is what they believe because there are a set of people who do not hesitate to spur them on in the path they take.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sadly our children are all employed and given very handsome remunerations to ridicule Sri Lanka and that makes me very sad because that is not how we should bring up our future.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I feel very sorry for the option they have taken in becoming traitors to the nation….they can use their talents better. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Our current system of education teaches our children Western Christian values. They are taught to look down on our own value systems and instead inculcate those that treat the Western values as superior. Even those that are educated in so called Buddhist schools are not immune to this system. The greatest achievement of Anandians and Nalandians at home and abroad is to emulate those that get educated at Royal or St Thomas’s colleges and eventually attend a Royal – Thomian dinner dance. They pursue the same value systems that is anti-national, anti- Buddhist and anti- Sri Lanka.

It is heartening to note that President Mahinda Rajapakse has directed that history be taught in all schools including those that call themselves “International”. This is a step in the right direction, albeit only a step as the rest depends of school administrations and teachers.

The necessity to move as a proud nation with a proud history is the need of the hour when all the vultures are waiting to see the end of Sri Lanka.

These are just cheap trash: not worth worrying about. They’ll get their due karma, sooner than later.

Sure blame the education system, blame the government but why not BLAME the parents? If the parents cannot instill the correct Values in their children, do you think the education system or the government can do any better?

Dear Ernest I too feel very sad and surprised how these traitors by living in this blessed land and do great harm by criticizing and tarnishing the image in front of the International community? These vultures by hating one man who is none other than our dear President tries to destroy the whole nation by telling lies and lies and giving press conferences in front of the world press.

Those defeated ungreatful politicians who has nothing to give to the people of Sri Lanka is going around the country and the world uttering nonsence like crazy mad dogs. They do not care about the country or it’s people but good life and green bucks given to them by so called International white slaves. I pray and wish that these vultures die like pigs where no one can identify there faces. Why they hate our beautiful Motherland so much and how they do things what they are doing now after going thru 30 years of darkness.

    Ernest,
As herman blame the parents setting an example to behavioral patterns as we have recently witnessed with Ministers children.

I dread to think that these very siblings will be law makers in Sri Lanka if the pattern continues.

  8. Marco Says:

Relevant to the above article, I watched in horror and shame the TV broadcasts at the big match scene at the SSC between Ananda and Nalanda. In the same context, I refer to Minister Rambukwella recent pronouncement “Boys will be Boys”. An irresponsible remark knowing very well the history of events of politico’s siblings.
Would it not be appropriate and far more sensible that Ministers and their siblings set a much higher standard of behaviour and values in order that the youth of Sri Lanka are able to emulate to be true law abiding citizens for generations to set examples.
