I would like to pose some questions to the Justice Minister on the topic of animal welfare in particular reference to the Animal Welfare Bill

Are you not undertaking your duties as Justice Minister because,
a.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Part (VI) Clause 22 of the animal welfare bill that advocates to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-prevent the infliction upon such animal of unnecessary fear or painƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ runs contrary to the halal method of animal slaughter owing to your religious belief?
b.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Is your personal indifference to the total ban on buffaloes/slaughter of cows below 12 year of age/cows incapable of breeding or unfit for agriculture work/domesticated cows is what is delaying the enactment of the Animal Welfare Bill?
c.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why is the Justice Minister delaying the enactment of the Animal Welfare Bill that has been prepared by the Law Commission of Sri Lanka after extensive consultations with the public and after examining laws of other jurisdictions?
d.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If the objectives of the animal welfare bill is to treat animals humanely, to prevent cruelty to animals and secure the protection and welfare of animals by establishing a National Animal Welfare Authority to provide Regulations and Codes of Practice ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” why is Minister Hakeem brushing this important legislature under the carpet?
e.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Animal Welfare Bill replaces the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance No 13 of 1907 and provides natural justice and basic freedoms for animals and seeks to safeguard Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s historical reputation for animal welfare ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” if the Justice Minister is delaying implementing the Animal Welfare Bill because of his personal religious whims it is an affront to the entire nation and questions why a Government should give an important ministerial portfolio to a person who places his religion and its beliefs contrary to what is of interest to the larger population.

Minister Hakeem secured himself the post of Justice Minister through much horsetrading but those who handed him such an important post must not look away as he is using his office to only advance laws and justice that suits only his religion and faith. In time to come this is a great danger to the nation. Can the authorities please wake up to this reality and make it a policy not to give portfolios as important as Justice to MPs representing minority faiths because they do not work towards the greater interest of the nation and use their office to suit their religion only.

Lorenzo is spot on. This treacherous swine should not be in the government let alone holding such an important position. All of these swines in the government for one and only one reason, to islamise Sri Lanka bit by bit. While all these happening, all this time Sinhalese divided, bickering trying to get to power and make as much money for them and their kith and kin. Never in the history of Sri Lanka, opposition party helped to strengthen the hand of the governing party making these swines king makers. Sadly it is still the case. UnP (unpatriotic party) should take the lion’s share of the blame for they have been in the opposition longer plus their inability to get rid of terrrorism but who didn’t hesitate to kill Sinhalese youth at will. Still there is no sign of them going to strengthen the hand of the government, so the swines can do more and more damage to the country.

NO MUSLIM IS SUITABLE FOR THIS POST IN SRI LANKA— THE ONLY COUNTRY WHICH HAD A ROYAL DECREE CALLED “”maaghatha””.
