Copulation of 13A Nazis and Tamil National Fascists Spell Doom for the Nation

The problem with 13A proponents is they donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t listen to reason. They are hell bent on the full implementation of it one way or the other. Their fallback argument is 13A is now law and it must be implemented. Absurd logic. No law is set in stone. 13A was never discussed in the community; it was simply imposed by India. Under the agreement between the two countries cemented with the Indo-Lanka Peace Accord (1987), the spineless Jayawardena administration was forced to pass it. India knew itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s 13A orphan will not grow up safely which led it to create high profile 13A hosanna singers (13A Nazis). Their assignment Colombo is to get 13A fully implemented in every province. 13A was a useless piece of law for the nation. It didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t achieve the intended result of peace. Until now it was just a waste of money in billions of dollars a year. However, now it is being transformed into a terrorist endeavour. 13A Nazis have now joined Tamil National fascists toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ win what LTTE failed.

The Third Reich

13A Nazis have passed through two previous main attempts to impose it but failed. This is their third Reich or the third stab at full implementation. And this is the most lethal. First attempt was in 1988. Although the north and the east were combined and a provincial council was formed, it was rejected by the LTTE. A funny approach was taken to form the first ever council. No election was held for the north! Instead Indians allocated all northern seats to EPRLF ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” an Indian paramilitary wing. Only the East had an election. 13A local lieutenant JN Dixit became a household name of hatred. Riots broke out in the east following the Perumal appointment. President Premadasa dissolved the North East provincial council no sooner the Indian invasion army left.

Another attempt was made by the CBK administration to couple a political package with 13A thereby giving the illegitimate piece of law some legitimacy. It too failed as people in both the north and the south rejected it. Even the 2002 CFA between Ranil and Parabakaran only recognised ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-de-factoƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ control over part of northern territory. LTTE leader refusing 13A boded well for the nation.

The third attempt being made now allows both de-facto and de-jure rights to Tamil Nationalists. And there is no group to undermine its implementation. That is why this is the worst of the attempts.

National Reigns Handed from Velupillai to Navi Pillai

There was a time not so long ago when Velupillai decided who lived and who died, who ruled and who didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t and who owns what. Both major political parties from 1988 to 2005 adhered to these dictates without asking a question. Things changed in 2005 to 2009. But the change lasted only a couple of months. Navi Pillai of UNHRC replaced the LTTE supremo. Now she runs the country. People and voters are suppressed. Two thirds majority in parliament has become a national curse as it was in 1987. 13A Nazis forcibly wedded Sri Lanka to 13A at the June 2009 UNHRC summit for a temporary win. Now 13A is an international issue. It is a tool for Tamils the world over to dictate terms to Sri Lanka. It is also a tool in the hands of India and USA to get their geopolitical needs addressed. 13A Nazis eye Indian awards for their loyal services.

Obviously the government has failed the nation. 13A must be put to the people to decide in a referendum. That absolves the politicians from guessing peoplesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ wishes.

Local Government bodies should be empowered as a solution to any pressing problem faced by minorities. A better say in development, agriculture, irrigation, culture and other relevant matters can be added to LG powers. The same referendum can ask people for their consent for the empowerment of LG bodies. There is nothing the UNHRC can do to annul such a referendum result. Devolution and decentralisation best works when power is in the grassroots level. Districts and provinces are too big and irrelevant to giving power back to the people.

Will the polies EVER give power back to the people?

Govt. itself has 13 amendment supporters.

    13A Nazis

    Dear Dilrook,

It is sheer rational pleasure reading you on this issue. Your view is the summum on the matter. It is said that even the hardest rock wilts away under the pressure of the most insignificant drop of water. Pegging away on this sword of Damocles, the 13A, hanging over the Sinhala Buddhist Nation could (which is what we hope in our wildest dreams) produce the desired result.

Please do not stop your campaign, It infuses such optimism in your readers.

Thank you Lorenzo for your dedication

    Dilrook,
If the Sinhalese do not stand up and act, we will be doomed. Many remain to do nothing and on a dependency culture and do not have the competitive spirit and efficiency required to survive in a highly competitive and dangerous world where only the fittest will survive. Our minds are corrupted by Buddhist depressed believes that tell us the world is full of suffering. What the world is full of is challenges and only certainty is aging and death. However, we have to fight to survive, rather than be depressed, giving up desires and seeking extinction.
Religion is a deadly mind virus that stop us thinking rationally.
Even Indians do not belive in myths that originated from India. However, we are blinded by Indian myths, that will lead us to extinction as happened to Nalanda Buddhists. If we continue in this manner, in a lethargic way, we will be doomed. How many are helping the people in Raja Rata ?

    Dear Mario,

I’m humbled by your comment. I have read your books. You are few notches above me.

One need not be prophetic to see what lies ahead in Sri Lanka. It is all too clear for all to see. But blinded by party politics, most of us refuse to see and acknowledge it.

Most presidential advisors are from previous administrations. So it is futile to expect any real policy shift from them.

Have we NOT LEARNED these LESSONS from our RECENT PAST?

Sri Lanka Tamils defy ban on rebel memorial

    May 18, 2013

COLOMBO (AFP) – Sri Lanka’s main opposition Tamil party Saturday defied a military ban and staged a commemoration of their war dead as the government celebrated the fourth anniversary of defeating Tamil Tiger rebels.

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) said it staged the remembrance in the northern town of Vavuniya for those who died in the final battle which also killed Tamil Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran and his entire top leadership.

“We had a meeting to commemorate all those who died in the conflict,” TNA lawmaker Suresh Premachandran told AFP from Vavuniya, 260 kilometres (162 miles) north of Colombo.

The event came as Sri Lankan troops held a parades in the capital to mark the victory over Tamil Tiger rebels and an end to 37 years of ethnic bloodshed.

The state-run Daily News said the Vavuniya meeting was illegal and warned anyone commemorating the defeated Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) would be jailed.

Witnesses said the TNA-led ceremony ended peacefully amid a heavy police presence in the area, a front-line town near the former war zone in the island’s north.

In the capital Colombo, President Mahinda Rajapakse viewed the military parade showcasing heavy weapons used against the Tigers who were known for their ferocious suicide bomb attacks.

“We will not allow a single inch of the land that you won by the sacrifice of your life to be taken away,” Rajapakse said. “There will be no room for separation.”

A naval craft taking part in the celebrations capsized and a search was on for an officer who was reported missing after the accident, a military official said, adding that the other four crew members had been rescued.
The military offensive which crushed the Tigers had triggered allegations of war crimes with rights groups saying that up to 40,000 civilians perished in the last months of fighting alone.
