Request to take action regarding Illegal construction in Knuckles World Heritage Site
We wish to bring to your immediate attention, an illegal construction currently taking place in Knuckles World Heritage site. This illegal construction is taking place between Riverston and Pitawala junction. It has been branded as an “eco-lodge” and built in an area adjoining an existing tea shop. As seen in the photo below, the large structure has already been built threatening the fragile  eco-system and endangering it’s status as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Hence, we request you to take immediate action to halt and remove this illegal construction and bring those responsible to justice.
Thank you
Mr. Sriyantha Perera
Mr. Keerthi Hewagoda
Mr. Jayantha Wijesinghe
