Mrs. Rajapaksa also stressed that no state funds were utilised in running this organisation. The Carlton Suwa Udana Programme is a part of Siriliya Saviya and was started with the aim of building a children’s hospital with residential facilities for the mothers who look after their sick children.
A fund was being raised for this purpose. Mrs. Rajapaksa also said in her statement that owing to the freezing of the Siriliya Saviya bank account, she has come to know that three patients who had been receiving financial assistance from the organisation had died.
Political opponents of the Rajapaksa government have alleged that the three individuals including Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa, authorised to sign cheques on behalf of Siriliya Saviya had provided ‘false’ national identity card numbers to the People’s Bank Suduwella Branch. When the bank account was first opened by officials of the organisation a copy of Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa’s passport was given to the bank and the other two signatories Mrs K. H.A.N.Jeewani Kumari and Mrs S.K.K. Dissanayake, provided copies of their national identity cards to the bank.

If the correct ID cards were provided but ID card numbers are entered wrong into the computer of a bank or govt department, who is held liable ? Surely it cannot be the holders of the ID cards ! they have done their part in providing correct ID cards or copies thereof.

This is a great shame to our nation. If correct IDs were provided, I do not know why there was an investigation, except to denigrate the respondent! FCID should explain the purpose of this investigation.

Mahinda saved Sri Lanka from Balkanization. He united our country as no one done for 500 years. How can Sirisena, Chandrika and Ranil hate him so much. Mahinda stands like Gulliver and these are three Lilliputians.

A touch of jealousy & envy there from the Failed Trio is possible. Also, they want Westward Ho ! fast, away from China and MR govt.
The irony is that they are cutting the branch they are sitting on.

I DISAGREE on the last part.
DSS was the best SL had.
1. DSS settled the east and north east with Singhala people. MR failed to even RESETLE displaced Singhalese. Otherwise east would also be Tamil speaking only
2. DSS invested in Singhala rural people NOT in Tamils or in rich people. His investments were in IRRIGATION. He build the DS SENANAYAKA OCEAN – a tank in the east to help farmers. Not a cricket stadium or a toll road only the RICH can enjoy.
3. DSS disenfranchised 600,000 kallthonis. During MR’s time 150,000 Tamil Nadu refugees got SL citizenship.
4. DSS rejected the commonwealth SIR BS. MR accepted commonwealth leadership.
5. DSS FLATLY refused to share power with Tamils. Ponnambalams were told to shut up and stay in his coalition or get out. IF Vigneswaran came in front of DSS to take oath as chief minister of the north, I can’t imagine what would have happened!!!
These are FACTS.
We need another DSS.
