Beautiful and Ispired, Dr. Tharoor! Well Said, Sir!

Indeed, 1 Pound Sterling a year over the next 200 years to ATONE for the Colonial Atrocities committed in the PREVIOUS 200 years …. is what I call a GOOD START to ESTABLISHING THE PRINCIPLE of PAYING REPARATIONS to Colonial Victims in their teeming Millions !

Our people from intellectual circles should go for these dbates and put your case.

I did this in early 80’s at London Uni debate about Tamil discrimination in SL, and I stood up and asked, we have chief justice, navy commander, head of police as Tamils and I could not see any one from minority in UK, having these position even in next 100 yrs. The whole room went quite and no one bothered to talk about discrimination after that.

Dr Tharoor deserves accolades for his brave speech. He has really spoken on behalf of all the earlier colonised countries all over the world. We wish there are more folks like him, folks who care, folks with guts and facts, brave and true.

PM David Cameron said a couple of years ago that “most of the trouble in the world today is due to Britain”. Most of the trouble in Lanka today IS due to colonisation of some 500 yrs. The loss in self respect and self confidence in a nation due to colonisation is immeasurable.
