” THE QUEEN OF TAMIL EELAM, QUEEN ELIZEBETH  II” ATTENDING CHOGM IN MALTA

The Great Grand Mother Alexandra Mary Elizabeth II, 89 years of age, has decided to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta, to be held in November 2015.

The Official Website of The British Monarchy has reported ” The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will visit Malta and attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which takes place in Valletta from 27 to 29 November. The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, will also attend CHOGM in support of The Queen.”

In early 2013, The Queen of Tamil Eelam announced ” she would not be attending the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting to be held in Sri Lanka”.  At that time she was 2 years younger, but quoted health reasons for not attending the Colombo Meeting.  Now the Queen of Tamil Eelam 2 years older, has apparently no health reasons, but fit and ready to travel to Malta.  It was the first time in 40 years, the Queen of Tamil Eelam did not attend a CHOGM meeting.

When would you call a Queen a “liar”?

She has her problems but calling her Queen of TAMIL ELAM is wrong. Her son attended the SL event. She met with MR and My3. She has NEVER met any TGTE or LTTE clowns officially.

Agree with Lorenzo. Also Malta is short hop from UK. Don’t forget the king of eelam a.k.a Cameron PM, the biggest
    Ethno Politician.

    MDPD,

What a pathetic bit of writing this is.

To refer to the Queen as ‘the Queen of Eeelam’ is mindless and offensive. Both as the British monarch and as head of the Commonwealth, the Queen has conducted herself in exemplary fashion, with great acceptance and dignity; small wonder that so many across the world hold her in great esteem and genuine affection.

Malta is only a matter of a three hour flight from London whereas the flight to Sri Lanka takes almost 11½ hours. Anyone who has travelled on a long flight knows the rigours that entails, and one will have to be insensitive in the extreme to not appreciate how difficult it would be for an 87 year old lady (and her older husband) to undertake such a long journey. Attending the CHOGM in Colombo will not have been simply a matter of only formally declaring open the proceedings. There are other functions and appointments that go with a Royal visit. Let us also not overlook the humidity and heat of Colombo which can be very trying for those not accustomed to them. So, if the Queen chose not to come to Colombo two years ago, or was medically advised not to undertake the trip, we should accept that in good faith and understanding.

As has been pointed out already, the Queen did not simply stay away from Colombo. She sent her son, Prince Charles, the future King to deputise for her. She could scarcely have done better.

It is unfortunate that you should have seen fit to write as you have. Whatever happened to our great Sri Lankan qualities of civilised conduct and good manners which we never tire to brag about?
