දෙවුන්දර දේවාලයේ හිටපු බස්‌නායක නිලමේ ඩිල්ෂාන් වික්‍රමරත්න ගුණසේකර නමැති අය පසුගිය කාලයේ ඉහළ පවුල්වල ඥතියෙක්‌. ඔහු ඛනිජ වැලි සංස්‌ථාවේ ක්‍රියාකාරී අධ්‍යක්‍ෂවරයා සහ සභාපතිවරයා ලෙස කටයුතු කළා. ඔහුට එරෙහිව පොලිස්‌ මූල්‍ය අපරාධ කොට්‌ඨාසය හමුවේ චෝදනා ගණනාවක්‌ තියෙනවා. ඔහු අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්න එපා කියා පොලිස්‌පතිවරයාට දුරකථන ඇමතුම දුන්නේ කවුද පොලිස්‌පතිවරයා “සර්” කියා සිටියේ අගමැතිට හෝ පොලිසිය භාර ඇමැතිවරයාට විය යුතුයි. ඒ නිසා පොලිසිය භාර ඇමැති සාගල රත්නායක මහතා කිව යුතුයි පොලිස්‌පතිවරයාට නියෝගය දුන් “සර්” කවුද කියලා.
සභානායක ලක්‍ෂමන් කිරිඇල්ල මහතා – මෙතුමාගේ මේ අර්ථ නිරූපණය එක්‌කෝ හරි විය යුතුයි නැතිනම් වැරැදි විය හැකියි. “සර්” කිව්වාම පාසලේ ගුරුතුමා වෙන්නත් පුළුවන්. අපි තවමත් අපේ ගුරුවරුන්ට කතා කරන්නේ “සර්” කියල.

There is another side to patriotism as with everything. NOT just ONE VIEW.
Patriotism is the BEST RECONCILIATION possible.
Patriotism raises fear in cunning people’s thick heads.
Patriotism causes itching in lowest parts of the digestion system in traitors, terrorists and ungrateful people.
Patriotism stops those who want to sell soldiers’ and their food, health, blood, etc. and become filthy rich.
Devoid of patriotism, a nation becomes a brothel. Those born into it become illegitimate people (b*).
Lets tolerate the other views as well, patriots, traitors or others. It is a HUMAN quality unfortunately lacking in SL.

Ruwan’s list are the characteritics of the word “දේශප්‍රේමය” (Patriotism) being misused, not the feeling “Love” of the country.
It is good to remind people how, after the REAL දේශප්‍රේමියා defeated the EVIL fake දේශප්‍රේමියා took over with a fake kiss of the earth ( he never walks barefoot) and completle destroyed everything gained ! It is the interaction between කපටියා and මෝඩයා that fuel this powerful destructive force.
What has happned is මෝඩයා ended up worshipping කපටියා forever !

Ruwan M. Jayatunga should stick to only to medicine for he clearly has no understanding of the finer emotions that underlie human existence and behavior.
His one-sided and superficial condemnation of PATRIOTISM is a testament to his ignorance and his incredible lack of understanding of human history, human civilization and humans as sentient beings.
The exploitation of religion as the last refuge of a rogue, should not and does not, condemn the validity or value of religion as a whole.
Likewise, the exploitation of patriotism for evil ends, should not and does not, condemn the valudity or value of patriotism as a whole.
Patriotism is simple word that is clearly understood by most sensible people for the shared loyalty people have for their countrymen and their own motherland.
From time immemorial, patriots have sacrificed what they treasure the most, upto and including their lives, to protect and preserve for their people and their descendents the benefits of their country. Thus, patriotic acts are usually among the finest expression of the humankind for other human beings.
In every country those acts are recognized through the national honor and medals for military valor: Parama Weera Vibhushanaya (Supreme Heroism Decoration), Wirodara Vibhushanaya (Heroism Decoration), Weera Vickrama Vibhushanaya (Heroic Gallantry Decoration), Rana Vikrama Padakkama (Combat Gllantry Medal) and many others in Ari Lanka, as well as the Congressional Medal of Honor in the United States, and the Victoria Cross in Britain. The majority of these medals are awarded posthumously, indicating the sacrifice made to merit them.
There are few things that are held in greater respect and esteem the world over than patriotism, and few that are more revered than those who have served a Patriotic cause, for they have sacrificed for us the living.
We the people of Sri Lanka owe a IMMENSE DEBT of GRATITUDE to the tens of thousands of our patriotic solfiets, sailors, sirmen, coast guards snd policemen who sacrificed their lives as their last full measure of devotion in preaerving our Motherland for us.
We should not, we must not, indeed we cannot dishonor that devotion to duty and sacrifice on our behalf by DEMEANING and DEBUNKING PATRIOTISM as an evil subterfuge as Ruwan Jayatunga characterise it.
There is no better way for us the living to honor the Patriots who have gone before us than by emulating them.
Ruwan M. Jayatunga is clearly trying to undermine support for the Patriotic cause in Sri Lanka by undermining Patriotism itself.
He should CEASE & DESIST before his words condemn him beyond redemption.

Regarding ONLINE propaganda wars, that can work both ways.
The USA did that big time in the last 8 years engineering the REGIME CHANGES in Arab Spring countries.
However, it now appears that REGIME CHANGE has backfired, because the Democrats ate claiming that Russia did a REGIME CHANGE operation on the USA, even to the extent of hacking into election databases. This is being cited as the reason for the ballot recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania requested by Presidential candidate Jill Stein of the Green Party!
Leaving US politics aside, propagandists inundating political websites is a serious problem that must be confronted HEAD-ON.

But at look who is railing against “an old man” …. just another old man!
You wrote previously that 40 years ago you decided you will not study towards a PhD (Probably did not have the grades). If we assume you were at least 21-years old when you finished your BSc when you could make that decision, you must be at least 61-years old now. More likely 65-years allowing 4-years for compulsory govt service in Sri Lanka.
That makes you nearly as old as I am…. which makes you an OLD DODDERER wearing PANTALOONS …. just like ME! LOL!

I would urge all patriotic Sri Lankan to be beware of treacherous elements namely Kumar David, Pakiasothy Sarvanamuththu, Weliamuna, Gamini Uyangoda, Ravaya Editor, Krishmal (forgot the surname), Jehan Perera, the ICES, the CPA etc. all of the above are CIA agents and their plan is to talk and write about all other subjects on the planet earth except one which is the proposed federal constitution. This is how the above well known Sri Lanka haters and CIA agents plan to hoodwink the Sinhala people, distract their attention by they and their subordinates talking and writing about all other topics on the planet earth except one which is the proposed federal constitution. In this way, they plan to hoodwink the Sinhala people and get this treacherous federal constitution passed in parliament. Once passed, it cannot ever be reversed and this country will be partitioned as the US,UK,EU, Canada,Norway,Sweden, the TNA and all other separatists want. Their plan is ‘Sinhalayage asata weli gasaa rata hatharata bedana kuuta kumanthranaya’. They plan to make this plan a success.
The reality is that the US State Department has spent US$585 million to bring about regime change in Sri Lanka, Burma, Nigeria and quite a number of other countries as even stated by them. At least US$58 million of this would have been provided to the above mentioned CIA agents i.e. Kumar David, Pakiasothy Sarvanamuththu etc. to launch their koota plan of distracting Sinhala people’s attention talking about all other topics except the most important i.e. the proposed federal constitution.
In this they are ably supported by the UNP/Sirisena SLFP/Ranil/CBK/Mangala/Pacha Ranawaka/Dath Dosthara Rajitha Senaratne/Wijedasa Rajapakshe/JVP/FLSP/TNA/ACTC/ITAK/TULF/SLMC/ACMC etc. who are also being paid by the US,UK,EU, Canada,Norway,Sweden, the TNA and all other separatists in order to pass this federal constitution.
Already parliamentary MPs have been bribed using 2 lakhs cash, pajeros, a seven lakhs cash loan etc. In fact their foreign advisors already told Ranil and the UNP at a conference ‘whatever you do, do not loose the two thirds majority in parliament!!!’. This is to pass this treacherous federal constitution. This is their cunning plan.
Not only that on the 27th of November Shivajilingam said on TV itself, we are so very near obtaining our Eelam!!! That says it all does it not?
In fact the US,EU,UK.Canada, Sweden, Norway, the TNA, all other separatists have spent so much money for three decades to partition Sri Lanka, in fact billions of US dollars by now indirectly supporting the terrorists the LTTE. They want their investment back now with interest. So they are definitely going to pass this proposed federal constitution by bribing parliamentary MPs as shown above.
Please patriotic Sri Lankans do not let this happen. Already we have provincial councils which is a reasonable solution as far as the requirements for decentralisation of power is concerned. There is no need whatsoever to go further than this if Sri Lanka is to remain a unitary state. Already Sri Lanka is quasi federal. If this treacherous federal constitution is passed tiny little Sri Lanka will be in at least four pieces or nine pieces or more and be partitioned forever into pieces. Not even India, Pakistan or South Africa, huge massive countries, have got rid of their concurrent lists. However tiny little Sri Lanka is getting rid of its concurrent list. This is craziness taken to the extreme.
