There seem to be a hint of malice in the subtitles.He is not allowed to hug his mum? by whom?Its the vow that he made that prevents him from having any contact with others because he has denounced all attachments and not because he is a Buddhist.
Buddha never made any restrictions on any thing and that goes for facebook too!!
