Following a meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, Foreign Minister Karunanayake is likely to quit his portfolio shortly, according to sources.

A government spokesman said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, too, had attended the meeting at President Sirisena’s request.

Several SLFP ministers have demanded Karunanayake’s resignation pending the presidential commission of inquiry probe into alleged Central Bank-Perpetual Treasuries bond scams. They have called upon him to quit without facing the Joint Opposition’s no-faith motion.

Minister Karunanayake didn’t attend Cabinet meeting yesterday.

At the Cabinet meeting several ministers voiced concern over the way the Attorney General’s Department had questioned the Finance Minister on Aug 2. Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne claimed that the Attorney General’s Department had acted differently in cases where the bigwigs of the previous administration were implicated.

Minister Senaratne said the AG’s Department should swiftly act on those cases, too.

Karu; the sacrificial lamb at the Altar of the Indian Empire.

    Jai Hind.

Will it be the end of the biggest financial fraud committed by Indian interests and Indian Colonial Parasites.

AG’s department should act swiftly on Rajitha Serathna’s case at Bribery Commission too. Rajitha has skipped many summons to appear at Bribery commission since the Yamapalanaya started.

Ravindran Karunanayakam quiting as a minister appears only to be a stage-managed eye wash. He is out in large to destroy all evidence and to influence all witnesses and therefore in 3 months he will be cleared and reinstated as a minister again. If similar situation arose with an opposition MP then that person is in remand prison without bail saying it is necessary to prevent manipulating evidence and influencing witness.

What a Yamapalanaya are we seeing here.

I can remember US embassy was issuing almost weekly press notices during MR’s time for even at the tiniest opportunity siting either real or sometimes fake justifications. The US embassy is so quiet making us wonder if the US embassy in Colombo is even in existence after the Yamapalanaya came to power.

Does this say something in our mind?
