  1. NeelaMahaYoda Says:

    Ha! Ha! Ha!

So He had a haircut before the church wedding

  2. Dilrook Says:

The traditional wedding in village was just for show. This is the real deal. All Rajapaksa sons and Shiranthi are Catholics. Not that it is a problem. The problem is anti-Christian elements rather foolishly supporting them! Very similar to anti-American elements supporting Americans! Only in Sri Lanka.

Anyway wish the couple a happy wedded life.

  3. Ratanapala Says:

This is the real marriage ceremony and registration. Behind the probing eyes, the Christian priest will come and register the marriage in the Catholic Church where the couple will have to promise to bring the offspring in the tenets of the Church. I am sure the Rajapakse son is already a baptised Christian having been similarly brought up subsequent to hit parent’s Christian Wedding.

What took place previously – the Poruwa Ceremony and visits to the temple are just eyewash for the public.

Mahinda Rajapakse under the influence of his wife did much to the Catholics in Sri Lanka including nearly four visits to the Vatican and an invitation for the Pope to visit Sri Lanka, but did not get a thanking response from the Christian voters who voted overwhelmingly to oust the Rajapakse Presidency in Jan 2015. Only thing that happened was that the hopes and aspirations of the majority Sri Lankans mostly of whom are Sinhala Buddhists were dashed to smithereens by bringing the Jadapalanaya into power.

Mahinda Rajapakse is the comeback kid in the block, mostly thanks to the Buddhists, Buddhist Temples and the Buddhist Clergy who has stood behind him steadfastly. Question is will he betray them once again under the ‘influence’?

  4. Randeniyage Says:

Yesterday there was Hindu ceremony as well. Today may be Islamic ceremony.
All these necessary to rescue the country from the Yakkha named Ranil.
However the Yakkha was invited to the village wedding too !
    Very confusing.

  5. Ancient Sinhalaya Says:

Year is 2019 and people still believing in fictitious gods. In the olden days people worshiped mountains, rivers,
trees etc. etc. in the absence of science. In 1856 Charles Darwin proved to the world (honest, not brain washed people only) all living things on the planet are not the work of a divine intervention, just like Buddha explained.

NASA showed the world that the earth’s size is a grain of sand in the vast vast vast universe where distances
are measured in light years (again just like Buddha explained) where no scientist knows the edges are. All these
a work of divine intervention? There isn’t a shred of evidence and that’s why no museum in the world shows a god
in their collection. In Sri Lanka, most non-Buddhists are hell bent on destroying the only true religion, Buddhism,
in the world. All these religions of conveniences followers who don’t regard killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, drug and alcohol abuse (Buddhism’s Five Precepts) as sins, commit a lot of sins and as a result won’t be
two legged creatures in their next lives. Once again Buddhism or the Buddhists aren’t going to be the losers.

Buddhism isn’t a religion of convenience and that is the reason Buddhism disappeared fast from the birth place
India where caste system, animal sacrifices are rife and the Indians quickly chose an easy path. To cheat
themselves. All the low courts under the Sun regard killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, drug and
alcohol abuse as sins (Buddhism’s Five Precepts). Then these are religions of conveniences or what?
