The Minister of Finance, Mangala Samaraweera has said today (24) that the Cabinet has granted approval to continue providing the last received salary to all disabled soldiers for lifetime.

Excellent decision!
I have been demanding this since 2009 but to no avail.
People with short memories have forgotten that these war heroes demanded the same exactly 5 years ago in 2014. It was unsuccessful. The 2015 election result may have changed if the then government did this.
30,000 soldiers are entitiled to these benefits.

Excellent decision, but unfortunately unless the LARGE SCALE LEGALIZED CORRUPTION and CRIMINALITY is stopped, these salaries will not be sufficient for them to live in 2 years time.
