Has the 2023 Budget Replaced the LTTE?

Tamil-only political parties rarely vote in favour of the national budget. When they do it raises many questions. At least one TNA MP has said he supports the 2023 budget to help resolve problems affecting Tamil people and to meet Tamil aspirations. Looks like the 2023 budget has replaced the LTTE which stood for the same stuff.

Sri Lanka is in dire economic hardships and they affect all Sri Lankans irrespective of ethnicity. Trying to resolve the problems of just one tribe at the expense of others only makes matters worse.

Besides the government has no mandate to do so.

Those who support the 2023 budget are party to this. They have not been authorized by the people to do so. They can choose between Ranil (totally rejected by the people) and the masses. There will be severe consequences for MPs who take the side of Ranil and not the people.

Unless this tribal bargaining is stopped, Sri Lanka will be in for more trouble and even a repeat of 1980s into another internal war. Why can’t politicians forget about their tribe, shed tribal thinking, and work for the common good of all Sri Lankans?
