The Ram Setu or Adam’s Bridge between India and Sri Lanka has been a topic of debate for years

By Rahul Gautam: The debate on Ram Setu, also known as Adam’s Bridge, has come up yet again. This time, the issue was raised by an Independent MP from Haryana, Kartikeya Sharma, in Rajya Sabha. In a reply to his query of scientific research on the structure, the government said, “If it is said in simple words, it is difficult to say that the real form of Ram Setu is present there. However, there are some indications which suggest that the structure may be present there.”

Kartikeya Sharma asked whether the government is doing any scientific research on “India’s glorious history as the previous governments continuously did not pay attention” to this issue.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh replied to his question and said, “I am happy that our MP raised a question regarding Ram Setu. We have some limitations regarding this. Because this is the history of about 18,000 years ago. The bridge we are talking about was about 56 km long.

Through space technology, we found out that some pieces of stones have been found in the sea. There are some such shapes which show continuity. Things like some islands and limestone have been seen in the sea. If it is said in simple words, it is difficult to say that the real form of Ram Setu is present there. However, there are some indications which suggest that the structure may be present there.”

He added that the government is continuously working to investigate the ancient city of Dwarka and such cases.

Congress leader Pawan Khera took the opportunity to slam the BJP and said, “All devotees, listen with open ears and see with open eyes. The Modi government is saying in Parliament that there is no proof of the existence of Ram Setu.”

In the ancient Indian Sanskrit epic Ramayana, it was mentioned that the Ram Setu was constructed by Lord Rama and his army. Hence, it has great historical and cultural significance.
