159 schools in Central Province damaged, 115 serving as displacement camps

Colombo, Dec. 4 (Daily Mirror) – A total of 159 schools in the Central Province have been damaged due to the recent disaster, Deputy Minister of Transport Prasanna Gunasena said.

Of these, 115 schools are currently being used as displacement camps for affected residents. The Deputy Minister said that the damages are being classified as either serious or partial.

He added that schools not affected by the disaster or serving as displacement camps are planned to reopen within the next 16 days.
