Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India
South Block,
Raisina Hall,
New Delhi, India 110011

Dear Prime Minister Manmohan Singh:

I just read your Olive Branch Love Letter to President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka after the factƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ when your IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  purposely hammered one nail onto his right palm to crucify Sri Lanka on UNHRC’s crucifix while encouraging the US to hammer another nail onto his left palm to attach Sri Lanka to the UNHRC crucifix and leave her hanging.

Do you honestly think Manmohan SinghƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that we are a bunch of stupids, or what?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I have told you twice before and I will repeat one more time, India is one hostile neighbour of Sri Lanka who could not be trusted.

Your Love Letter says : ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-As Your Excellency is aware, the Government and the people of India had stood firmly by Sri Lanka in its struggle against terrorism.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

What! Manmohan Singh, you must be day dreaming! ThatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s a gunnybag full of India’sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Holy White-Cow dung! You were not honest in that statement. You deliberately ignored the qualification of that terrorism, which should have read, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.stood firmly by Sri Lanka in its struggle against, I admit, Made in India Tamil Tiger terrorism.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Yes, you helped in the latter stages of the war, but it was just cosmetic compared to the help that was received from Pakistan and China.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And then you wanted a ceasefire during the last phase of the war to let the Americans, British and the Norwegians whisk the Tamil Tiger leaders out of the Nandikadal lagoon shores, so that these Tamil terrorist bastards that you all trained could live to fight another day to get theirƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s, KarunanidhiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s and JayalalithaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Eelam.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Right, Manmoha Singh?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is a reality check for you.

Your Love Letter says: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦. At long last, an opportunity for genuine national reconciliation end for addressing the urgent needs of development and reconstruction of all citizens of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Manmohan Singh, do you honestly believeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  that the Rajapaksa government have been sleeping since they militarily won that bloody 27-year war?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Come on, Manmohan Singh, give me a break!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The government have been developing the North and East, normalizing the lives of the Tamils; there have been local elections to give the Tamils back the taste of the democratic ballot rather than the India-taintedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Tamil Tiger bullets; giving back the education to the former child-soldiers and 19 are entering University soon, perhaps to become doctors and lawyers; making the country tri-lingual; getting mega-projects going in the North and EastƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to give these Tamils a life and many, many, many more towards national reconciliation.

You Indians have been involved in building 50,000 houses for the Tamils forgetting that the Muslims and Sinhalese too wereƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ethnically cleansed and displaced, and not providing a single house of that 50,000 for them.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is no help for reconciliation, is it now, Manmohan Singh?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You Indians keep complicating the problems for the Rajapaksa government, day in and day out.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Now the Muslims, quite rightlyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ are demanding a quota of those houses and the Sinhalese should too.

Perhaps, you were not briefed what President Rajapaksa had to say on Saturday, 24th March.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  He said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Sri Lanka as an independent country would not give in to any arbitrary interference in its affairs.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The governmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s policy in respect of all matters will continue to be guided by the vital interests and well being of the people.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  In other words, what he says is, India and the US, keep your hands off Sri Lanka.

Your Love Letter says: It is our conviction that a meaningful devolution package, building upon the 13th Amendment, would lead towards a lasting political settlementƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You sound so patronizing, Manmohan Singh,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  just cut it.

Let me say a few words on the ground reality aboutƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  this 13th Amendment.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This Amendment that was bullied by Rajiv Gandhi and his India to be agreed upon by Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s President J. R. Jayewardena was never an acceptable mantra to lead to a lasting political settlement in Sri Lanka, nor will it ever be.

There were resentment and disagreement by the politicians and the masses in July 1987, and so are they now, 25 years later.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Before the Indo-Lanka Accord was signed the strongest critic was the National Security Minister Lalith Athulathmudali.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The much respected UNP Secretary, Gamini Jayasuriya was another conscientious objector in the Cabinet.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Prime Minister Ranasinghe Premadasa knew nothing about it until he read the morning newspapers in his Tokyo hotel room.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And he was frothing.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  When your Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi came over to sign the Indo-Lanka Accord, and to smooth the embarrassment for not being supported by the islandƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Prime Minister, President Jayewardena wanted Rajiv Gandhi to meet the objecting Prime Minister Premadasa and asked him whether he could bring Rajiv Gandhi in the wee hoursƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to his official residence so that no one would notice his arrival for breakfast.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Prime Minister Premadasa refused and said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t want to see this man.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I heard about this incident from the horseƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mouth.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And the most ignominious and the symbol of anger was when Rajiv Gandhi was clobbered with a rifle butt by 21 year old Wijitha Rohana Wijayamuni, a naval rating, and it struck his shoulder when he was walking past the naval guard of honour.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And that was the telling mark of the objection of this rogue 13th Amendment.

So Prime Minister Manmohan Singh it is asinine to keep continuing to harp about this 13th Amendment which has divided the Sri Lankans then and is still an annoying canker to say thatƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  it will produce lasting peace in Sri Lanka.

Let me roll back the years to 14th December 1984, when your India was a questionable neighbour of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is what Prime Minister Ranasinghe Premadasa said about his Indian neighbour.

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The reply given to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by our Government proves three facts.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  What are these three facts ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” (a) India utters untruths about Sri Lanka; (b) India encourages the terrorists of Sri Lanka, and (c) India interferes with the internal affairs of Sri Lanka.

If India feels for the people of Indian origin without interfering in our internal affairs, they should get them back to India.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Why does she wish to meddle in our affairs?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  So there you are.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You Indians havenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t changed, have you?

So Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, here is the dope about the 13th Amendment, in case you have forgotten.

The 13th Amendment came about as a result of Indian pressure in the form of India sending Mirage 2000s, to escort 4 Russian built Anatov Transport planesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  for a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-parippuƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ drop over the Jaffna peninsula, and parking a war ship outside ColomboƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s territorial waters and threatening military intervention in support ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the Tamil separatists whose Godfathers lived in Tamil Nadu in the names ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  M.G.Ramachandran, Karunanidhi, Vaiko and Nedumaran, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and your High Commissioner DixitƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  in Colombo thought that he was and acted as IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ViceroyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in Sri Lanka. WerenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t you a bunch of InternationalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Asian Bullies, then?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You are no different now.

The next step of the 13thƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Amendment was that it was passed in parliament by theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  President Jayewardena government by resorting to unethical means of a threat to table undated ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”lettersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ of resignationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  from the ruling party parliamentarians.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But that move was without consulting the people in this constitutional democracy.

But, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, here is the telling story about India being a HOSTILE NEIGHBOUR OF SRI LANKA.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  By Saturday, 30 May, 1987, India had military plans to scare Sri Lanka to rattle her bones.

Your India had a final option of a military intervention in Sri Lanka and would have had virtually no problem in halting Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s offensive in Jaffna according to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The HinduƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But one problem that you all had was your inability to gauge the possible international reaction to such a move.

In a report titled: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Military OptionsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ by a special correspondent to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The HinduƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ detailed how your Indian military intervention could be carried out.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  A perfect scenario to pin the tag onƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Mother IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Kashmir-sari which reads -ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  BULLY INDIA: the Hostile Neighbour of Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The most likely scenario is an Indian military move to threaten the Sri Lanka main line of communication to Jaffna by positioning a naval task force off Elephant Pass, as well as a direct move to send a relief force consisting of coast-guard ships to Kankasanthurai, the main port in the Jaffna peninsula, to assist the civilians and help evacuate Indian nationals stranded thereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The HinduƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ said.

It said these moves could be accompanied by an air and naval blockade of Jaffna, to prevent supplies reaching the Sri Lankan garrison, involved in the fighting.

The Government of India had finally run out of options to mediate in the crisis and signs were visible that Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was contemplating a show of force, to compel the Sri Lankan Army to call off its offensive,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The HinduƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ said.

It observed that should the blockade of Jaffna proved insufficient, other military options such as a blockade of the main Sri Lankan ports of Trincomalee and Colombo and the supplying of Tamil militants with essential air-defense equipment like portable surface to air missiles and anti-aircraft guns were available.

This soft options could be enhanced by sending Indian combat fighter MIG-21s or Jaguars to buzz Colombo and Trincomalee with sonic-booms to bring home to the Sri Lankan leadership the possibility of more drastic actions,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”The HinduƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ said.

Little wonder why Rajiv Gandhi went straight to Tamil Nadu afterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  getting Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to sign the Indo-Lanka Accord and toldƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ your belly-aching politicians, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-I not only got you all what you wanted, but much more.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

So Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, this was the genesis of Amendment 13.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  So letƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s throw out your dishonest barrels of pickled fish which says, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ that the Government and the people of India stood firmly by Sri Lanka in its struggle against terrorism.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t believe you one grain of sand from the Mumbai beach, and so are thousands of other Sri Lankans.

So what of the 13th Amendment?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The Government of Sri Lanka should repeal it or else at least be smart and be fair on its people and go to them to obtain their consent at a National Referendum.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is that simple.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And it is that easy to be honest withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ her people and that is how it should be.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And not because India wantsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to appease its Tamil Nadu polticians Karunanidi and Jayalalitha.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

My words to India is : Just keep your hands off Sri Lanka.

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe (Mr.)

An implicitly accurate portrayal of India’s duplicity when it comes to expressing false sentiments pf support for Sri Lanka in the most hypocritical manner that some world Leaders are noted for and the reason for it very well documented ! This is a delivery of knockout punches to India from which the recovery time will not only be long but and embarrassment where the sequential details of India’s unwanted and unwarranted involvement have been exposed to the world in an astoundingly comprehensible manner going back to more than a single incumbency.
The patriotism and love of motherland expressed by Mr. Weerasinghe in so doing is truly commendable.

  2. Nalliah Thayabharan Says:

Edvige Antonia Albina Maino was born December 09, 1946 to Stefano and Paola Maino in contrada Màini (“Maini street”) in Lusiana, a little village 30 km from Vicenza in the region of Veneto, Italy. She spent her adolescence in Orbassano, a town near Turin, attending a Catholic school. Her father, a building contractor, died in 1983. Her mother and two sisters still live around Orbassano. In 1964, she went to study English at the Bell Educational Trust’s language school in the city of Cambridge. She met Rajiv Gandhi, who was enrolled in Trinity College at the University of Cambridge in 1965 at a Greek restaurant while working there, as a waitress to make ends meet. In all three years of Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure at Trinity College had not passed a single examination. Sonia and Rajiv Gandhi married in 1968.

Antonia Maino was given the name ‘Sonia’ by her late mother-in-law, Indira Gandhi. But there is no notification in the gazette regarding this change in name. This change of name runs in Nehru family is to fool the Indian public for their votes. Indira Gandhi’s real name was Indira Priyadarshini. In 1934–35, after finishing school, Indira joined Shantiniketan,a school set up by Rabindranath Tagore. When Indira was found in the bed with her German teacher at Shantiniketan she was chased out of the Shantiniketan Rabindranath. Subsequently, she went to England and sat for the University of Oxford entrance examination, but she failed, and spent a few months at Badminton School in Bristol, before passing the exam in 1937 and enrolling at Somerville College, Oxford where she never finished her degree. Khushwant Singh, who has personally known Indira Gandhi, has said that she felt uncomfortable around educated people because she had no real education. During her stay in the UK, she frequently met Feroze Gandhi, whom she knew from Allahabad, and who was studying at the London School of Economics. Before Indira’s marriage, the then Governor of Maharashtra, Dr.Shriprakash had warned Nehru in a meeting and through a letter, that Indira was having an illicit relationship with Feroze Khan. Feroze Khan was quite sympathetic to Indira and Indira married Feroze Khan in a London mosque as per Islamic rites Feroz Khan after converting herself to Islam. Indira’s muslim name was Maimuna Begum and later both had changed their name to fool the public of India by an affidavit in a court to Indira Gandhi and Feroz Gandhi.

After Rajiv’s birth Indira and Feroze lived separately, but they were not divorced. Feroze used to interfere in Nehru’s political activities. Nehru got fed up and left instructions not to allow him into the Prime Minister’s residence Trimurthi Bhavan. The death of Feroze in 1960 before he could consolidate his own political forces came as a relief to Nehru and Indira. Feroze had even planned to remarry. The second son of Indira known as Sanjay Gandhi was not the son of Feroze Khan. Sanjay’s real father was Mohammad Yunus who served as India’s ambassador to Turkey, Indonesia, Iraq and Spain. He represented India at the Non-Aligned Summits at Lusaka, Algiers, Colombo, New Delhi, and Harare. Baby Sanjay had been circumcised following Islamic custom, although the reason stated was phimosis. Sanjay was notorious in getting unwed young women pregnant. Menaka too was rendered pregnant by Sanjay. It was then that her father, Colonel Anand, threatened Sanjay with dire consequences if he did not marry her daughter. Incidentally, Sanjay’s marriage with the Sikh girl Menaka took place quite surprisingly through a civil ceremony(on 23 September 1974)in Mohammad Yunus’ house in New Delhi. And the marriage with Menaka who was a model (she had modelled for Bombay Dyeing wearing just a towel) was not so ordinary either. Mohammad Yunus who cried the most when Sanjay died in the plane accident.

Sanjay never attended college, but took up an apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce in Crewe, England. Sanjay Gandhi’s name was actually Sanjeev Gandhi. He was arrested for a car theft in England. Since his passport had been seized, the then Indian Ambassador to England Krishna Menon changed his name to ‘Sanjay’and procured a new passport for him.

Rajiv Gandhi changed his so called Parsi religion to become a Catholic to marry Edvige Antonia Albina Maino. Rajiv became Roberto. His daughter’s name is Bianca and son’s name is Raul. Quite cleverly the same names are presented to the people of India as Priyanka and Rahul. What is amazing is the extent of Indians’ ignorance in such matters. The press conference that Rajiv Gandhi gave in London after taking over as prime minister of India was very informative. In this press conference, Rajiv boasted that he was NOT a Hindu but a Parsi. Mind you, speaking of the Parsi religion, he had no Parsi ancestor at all. His grandmother (father’s mother) had turned Muslim after having abandoned the Parsi religion to marry Nawab Khan. It is the western press that waged a blitz of misinformation on behalf of Rajiv.

At the end of Rajiv Gandhi’s five years in office, the Bofors Scandal broke out. Ottavio Quattrocchi an Italian business man believed to be involved was said to be a friend of Sonia Gandhi, having access to the Prime Minister’s official residence.

In 1980 Sonia’s name appeared in the voter’s list for New Delhi prior to her becoming an Indian Citizen. At the time she was still holding Italian Citizenship. A violation of Form 4 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, which states that “Only the names of those who are citizens of India should be entered on the electoral rolls.” When she did acquire Indian Citizenship, in April 1983, the same issue cropped up again, as her name appeared on the 1983 voter’s list when the deadline for registering had been in January 1983.

Swiss magazine Schweitzer Illustrierte in 1991 claimed that Sonia was controlling accounts worth $2 billion dollars(Rs 9400 Crores) in her son Raul’s name.

Harvard scholar Yevgenia Albats cited KGB correspondence about payments to Rajiv Gandhi and his family, which had been arranged by Viktor Chebrikov, which shows that KGB chief Viktor Chebrikov sought in writing an “authorization to make payments in U.S. dollars to the family members of Rajiv Gandhi, namely Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Paola Maino, mother of Sonia Gandhi” from the CPSU in December 1985.

Payments were authorized by a resolution, CPSU/CC/No 11228/3 dated 20 December 1985; and endorsed by the USSR Council of Ministers in Directive No 2633/Rs dated 20 December 1985. These payments had been coming since 1971, as payments received by Sonia Gandhi’s family and “have been audited in CPSU/CC resolution No 11187/22 OP dated 10/12/1984.

In 1992 the media confronted the Russian government with the Albats disclosure. The Russian government confirmed the veracity of the disclosure and defended it as necessary for “Soviet ideological interest.”

In 2008 Sonia’s party appointed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh was the only international leader to initially refuse data provided by the German authorities during 2008 Liechtenstein tax affair.
