Battle of the Two Presidents & the Terrorist Heads!
For thirty odd years Sri Lanka was under a cloud of Terrorism created by the Tamil Tiger LTTE led by Velupillai Prabhakaran, supported by the affluent Tamil Diaspora living in foreign countries.
It took one term for President Mahinda Rajapaksa to blow the brains out of an armed Prabhakaran, a body of armed body-guards, and eliminate some of his top terrorists.
And bring-in SP from Thailand to Sri Lanka.
The world did not rejoice at the elimination of the man who created the Human Suicide Bomb. The United Nations led by MonKiBoon started investigations into the annihilation of a Terrorist who killed more than 100,000 innocent civilians.
Since the destruction of WTC Twin Towers in 2001, where nearly 3000 innocent lives were taken out, and a further 2000+ were killed during the past 10 years, the clocks stopped at the Breaking News on BBC to announce the killing of Osama Bin Laden.
Similarly, it took one term for President Barack Obama to direct the SEAL Special Forces to blast into the Terrorist Mansion and blast the brains out of an unarmed OBL in front of his young daughter.
The world rejoiced with public messages of congratulations, which has made Obama a great warrior-leader.
Whilst public opinion around the world was not positive or unanimous when President Rajapaksa destroyed the LTTE Terrorist who bombed the WTC in Colombo, the overwhelming public opinion was on the side of President Obama, when the man who master-minded the destruction of the WTC in New York.
Would the British government and other UK political leaders now sympathise with Al Qaeda for the loss of their leader?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The immediate answer is Nooooo!
Why then, the British, Canadian, Norwegian governments still support the remnants of the LTTE which still plan to destroy the democratically elected government of Sri Lanka?
The plain and simple answer is-; Double Standards of the West!
What is good for the Goose is not applicable for the Gander! Specially an Asian Gander from a Developing ex-Colonial country.
That said, will the United Nations bureaucrats start an investigation into the “murder” of an unarmed OBL, by USA Special Forces, whilst living quietly in his home with his wife & family?
The irony is that, the remains of Prabhakaran were unceremoniously dumped into the Asian sea or the Indian Ocean. Whilst, the mutiliated remains of OBL was dumped into the Arabian Sea. Washed & dressed-up, of course.
The moral of the story is that the President of Sri Lanka took absolutely correct actions, two years later followed by the President of USA, almost to the letter!
Would the world now recognize the courageous actions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and reward him with the Nobel Peace Prize?

It happened on May 1st the Labour Day, as they say, within 40 minutes, without much labour pain.
It also happened in Sri Lanka as I can remember, during May. The delivery of a terror leader to hell had 30 years of hard labour pain.

All SriLankan and the world saw the picture of the Pirabakaren´s dead body. President Mahinda has courage to show the picture of pirabakaren to the public. Why USA refused to show the picture of Bin Laden? USA has fear to do even they have power to win the world by arms. My opinion our president Mahinda has won the heart of the all communities before defeat Terrorism and kill the leader of LTTE. Victory by the arms is only a temporary solution to any problems. I hope President Mahinda belive in winning the heart of all community than by arms to secure permanent peace in Sri Lanka.

According to the Western Philosophy, or THEORY, WHAT IS GOOD FOR GOOSE IS NOT GOOD FOR GANDER!!!
Because, Osama is responsible for killing only about less than 10,000 civilians a swell as soldiers!
But, LTTE was responsible for killing ONLY 100,000 civilians during a period of 30 yrs.
So this means, WHITE SKINNED SUDDAS VALUE OF 10,000 IS GREATER THAN 100,000 DARK SKINNED ASIANS!!!
Therefore killing OSAMA by Obama is justified,
But killing of Prabhakaran by Mahinda R is unjustified.
A new theory invented by the WEST!

Thank you, Professor! It is high time that the US and allies realized that the war on terror cannot be waged without riska and casualties.
As Sri Lanka has learnt, eliminating the terror-leader is not the end of everything. Tamil terror-supporters (mainly in the West as “refugees”) are still trying to raise separatist issues around the World, and are trying desperately to discredit Sri Lanka at any given opportunity. Whether these actions are aimed for them to remain in the greener pasteurs of the West, or to form eelam somewhere, no one will know. The US needs to study Sri Lanka and see how these terror-supporters are functioning inthe post-prabhakaran era. Tamil tigers are far more dangerous terrorists that Al-Quaeda, and sooner the World realizes this, the better it would be for everybody.

Osama Bin Laden was is and always was a loyal Leutenant of the CIA. Osama Bin Laden comes from a very very wealthy Saudi Arabian family. The Bin Laden family and the Bush family were doing joint business deals together worth billions. This raid is a stage managed event, to boost Obama’s flagging ratings nothing to do with fighting terrorism, has everthing to do with creating more terrorism. Of course this will benefit the American Empire. Why do many Sri Lankans and people around the world until recently including writers on this website are so enamoured by Barack Obama. I knew he was a phony from the day he was elected. What you thought just because he had skin similar to a Sri Lankan’s that somehow he was going to be the greatest American president ever. What happened to judging a person by the content of his character rather than colour of his skin. This raid is a fraud, it is full of holes, and then they buried him at sea, how convenient! I guess the powers that be in USA thought we are all complete moronic idiots and would cheer Obama for getting public enemy no.1. I have done some study on Obama’s background, Obama like Bin Laden is a total CIA fabrication by the make beleive Hollywood magicians at CIA HQ in Langley. By the way a terrific article Prof Hudson. Thanks. A refreshing change from the die hard Obama supporters like Harold Leelawardana and Charles Perera et al. I suppose if Adolph Hitler was asian/black you would be die hard supporters of him. I am not interested in the colour of a leaders skin, I am more interesed what he does. No doubt Obama has killed thousands of innocent people, with predator drones in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen.
