WIMAL WEERAWANSA ATTACKS FONSEKA FOR TELLING TO COOPERATE WITH PROBE

Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Housing Minister and leader of the National Freedom Front, a constituent party of the governing coalition,Wimal Weerawansa criticized forrmer Army Commander Sarath Fonseka for saying Sri Lanka must cooperate with ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ any international inquiry into war crimes they allege since we did not do such crimes.
Weerawansa appealed to Fonseka not to dig out the trump cards of the US imperialists to trap ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.
Wimal Weerawansa argued after going to an inquiry Fonseka could always say during the last few days of the war he was out in China negotiating for arms and those who were present only were in the know passing the ball to the others. Weerawansa was responding to a statement made by Fonseka during a BBC interview in Colombo recently.
In that interview with Charles Haviland Sri Lanka ArmyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s former commanderƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Fonseka rejected accusations that thousands of civilians had been killed in the closing phase of the armyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s offensive against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The large figures of 30,000, 40,000, [who are said to have] died ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” it was not practicable. The way we conducted the war, the type of weapons systems we used, the manuals we made, we were always concerned about the security of the civilians,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Mr Fonseka said.

Wimal Weerawansa is 100% correct. Fonseka lost his grey matter in his head and cannot think straight. With bundles of dollars in his mind, Fonseka cannot see that there will be no chance of getting a fair justice if it comes to international investigations of war crimes. See the last unofficial UN investigation report. Similarly, West will use their money and influence to get a panel of judges to go against us and not only that, they will use Fonseka’s evidence together with LTTE propaganda materials to prove that Sri Lankan army has committed war crimes. If that happens what Fonseka can do? Only thing he can do is to become a leader of a humiliated and divided nation with lots of dollars in his pocket (by doing so another Gorbachev will be created by the Western Mafia).

I disagree.
We should have a LOCAL independent investigation into the last stages of the war.
1. Rajapakshas didn’t commit any war crime
2. Navy didn’t commit any war crime
3. SLAF didn’t commit any war crime
4. Some sections of the army commandeered by SF committed violent acts AGAINST instructions from GR. 200 SF stooges in the army have been sacked already AFTER investigations.
This is another Operation Kalavedda SF brings upon himself!

We’ll see the real Fonseka soon: a Great Son of the Motherland, or a traitor. Looks like he already owes the US senator whom his daughter approached to force his release, a favor. Hope he doesn’t bend over to appease them.

By the way, SF had read the biographies of Mahathama Gandhi, Nelson Mandela like people when he was in the jail.
According to him, Hitler has used exactly the same strategy to humiliated belittle opponents.
So, there is nothing genius in these propaganda.
Wimal modawansha was the main propaganda man of JVP. That is why he was taken into UPFA too.

SF was jailed for with kangaroo courts. Then one by one, so many court were brought upon him. First they said that he would be released unconditionally (But, Ranil contradicted that saying he was not given full unconditional release). We knew that foreign countries had asked to release him. We know the govt wanted release him if he apologised. Now, we know his release was negotiated since middle of the last year.
Now since the day he was released, ministers one by one come out and warn him. SLBC warn him.
Do you think, he was honestly released by the govt on their own initiative and not US forced them through the UNHCR resolution.
If you weigh all the information, it is pretty sure, UNHCR resolution is the major reason to release him in a hurry.

The Americans killed tens of thousands of innocent Japanese civilians to force them to surrender.It was mass murder, but no one talked about punishing the Americans and hold them to account.But the good thing was it ended the war and saved many more lives.Honestly does any one believe Sarath Fonseka or these so called human rights champions give a crap about a when bunch of terrorist were killed, even if they carried white flags? All those Sri Lankan enemies of Rajapaksa brothers must be grateful to them for the peace and development we have now. What good the previous leaders since independence have done to develop the country?We went back words by may be 50 years compared to countries like Singapore and Malaysia. Stop complaining just because you hate the Rajapaksa family and think for once the good work they are doing.I trust the president more than the power hungry western puppet Fonseka and hope he will bring lasting peace and prosperity.

Appuharmy1, yes, Wimal Weerawanse speaks to the Gallery, becuse the so called Gallery is the poor Tamil Villages, Sinhala Villages and Moors. Their vote is the one that put MR in to power; and not the vote of Educated Bigots like you. This is what JRJ did: He created a Republic for Sinhala, a Constitution and to live peacefully with the Sri Lankan minorities. Certainly NOT for annexing SL to Tamil Nadu. 1. why must answer if his answers, as commander of the army has alread been given by him. He is a FOOL not fit for any office. He was never a WAR HERO. He came back to SL as a traitor, did not conduct the war properly. It is Gota who managed him to get the work done.
2. Now US says sri lanka is doing “unlawfull killing”. Thir killings, Hiroshima, nagasaki, Iraq, Afganistan, Kuwait,Africa, Sri Lanka are all “Lawfull” killings. Exactly the same stupid argument like Ponnaseka.
