ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ are celebrating their 65th independence days. It is time to express good wishes and prayers for the peace and prosperity for both the countries. However, ironically,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ both the countries got their independence from British tyrant rule, that extended over almost one third of Indian subcontinent, on 15 August 1947 but India celebrates its Independence Day on 15thƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ August while Pakistan on 14 August. If we recall it was inauguration of the Pakistan Constituent Assembly on the 14 August 1947 that occurred on that very day and it was not the partition of subcontinent. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah also delivered speech on the occasion.

It is also on record that PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ celebrated its second Independence Day on 15 August 1948, which was also published in Gazette of Pakistan against holidays in 1948. Many books of older versions have printed Quaid-e-AzamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s address on Independence Day on 15 August 1948. In order to further embarrass Pakistani nation, the original national anthem by a patriot Pakistani Hindu, Jagan Nath Azad in Urdu language, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Aey Sarzameen-e-Pak.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Zarrey Terey Hein Aaj Sitaron Say Tabnak. Roshan Hai Kehkashan Say Kahien Aaj Teri Khak. Aey Sarzameen-e-Pak.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was criminally replaced with Persian national anthem five years after the creation ofPakistan.

Who did this to create mistrust between Muslims and minorities inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is an open secret.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The story of establishment ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was not less than horrifying nightmare. Keeping aside those patriotic Muslims who sacrificed everything and migrated from Indian Punjab and Bengal and a smaller number from adjoining states, a very large number of Indian nationals illegally migrated and acquiredƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ citizenship. These elements have complete families inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as well as inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ but have no regard to Ideology of Pakistan or Indian union.

They are the one who carry out propaganda that Hindus are very peaceful and have no evil designs againstƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ but at the same time they are the one who looted the Hindus and other minorities and deprived them from their properties. Presently, with the exception of few of having legal claims, all the Hindu properties in cities are under their occupation.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ One recalls, Pakistani great poet Jagan Nath Azad, who twice migrated toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was very disturbed during his last visit toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pakistanand was aggrieved why he leftƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pakistan. One wonders althoughƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was created to enforce Islam on this piece of land but minorities were to stay under guarantees of full rights and protection.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Today, Hindus and other minorities are one of most loyal citizens ofPakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and one feels proud of them.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ On the occasion of Independence Day, it is important to portray on canvas what could have been the situation ifƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ was not created. In the presidential address delivered at the fifth annual session of the All-India Muslim Students’ Federation,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ NagpurƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on 26 December 1941, Quaid-e-Azam said,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-What is the Hindu Mahasabha doing? Its ambition is to militarize and industrialize the Hindus, urge the Hindus to join the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and support the war.

Militarize what? Industrialize what? the Hindu nation? I ask Mr. Savarkar and Field-Marshal Moonje: Do you think that everyone in this country is a fool? Do you think you can fool the British? Why this sort of talk and why this lip-loyalty of co-operation with an ulterior motive of filling the ranks of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force by Hindus? And then what will they do? The answer is clear, then they say, ‘PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will evaporate into the air, and the British will go back toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ LondonƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ town and settle down there,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Don’t you think that these gentlemen who talk like this should be locked up somewhere? My young friends, the Hindu Mahasabha is dreaming.

Dreaming of what? They do not make any secret of it. Why is it that they are againstƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pakistan? Why? Our proposal ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ PakistanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is not inimical to them if they honestly and dispassionately examine it. The Muslim says: Give me those parts ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ where we are in a majority and where I have got my homeland. Let me live there under my own rule and I undertake to protect the non Muslim minority. You live in the Hindu India proper and you can protect the Muslim minority.

You have three-fourths. But they do not want three-fourths; they want the whole. How are they going to get the whole? What is Mr. Savarkar’s scheme? His scheme is that when he gets 75 per cent of the Hindus in the Army, in the Navy and the Air Force and inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the administration-andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by that time I think Field-Marshal Moonje will see to it that every Hindu eats meat-he willƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  then see that Hindu Raj is established! What is to happen to those Muslims who are in the north-west and north-east? What will happen to those frontiers? It is this.

The frontiers will be occupied by the Hindu garrison just as the British garrison is occupying the north-west. Instead of the British it will be Hindu garrison, entirely composed of Hindus, who will see and make it their business to see that the Muslims in those parts are not allowed to raise their heads. They will establish a central government and that central government will have supreme control over the entire subcontinent.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Quaid-e-Azam in an interview to ReuterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Correspondent on 25 October 1947 said. As for the two nation theory, it is not a theory but a fact. The division ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is based on that fact and what is more, that fact has been proved beyond doubt by the ugly and deplorable events of the past two months, and by the action of Dominion of India in pulling out Hindus fromƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pakistan. How then it can be said that there is one nation?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ The golden words of Quaid-e-Azam during Sibi Darbar on 14 February 1948 are also before us when he said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-It is my belief that our salvation lies in following the golden rules of conduct set for us by our great law giver, Prophet of Islam (Sal Allah Ho Alhe Wasalam).

Let us lay the foundation of our democracy on the basis of truly Islamic ideals and principles. Our Almighty Allah has taught us that our decisions in the affairs of the State shall be guided by discussions and consultations.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Again while addressing Army personnel at Malir on 21 February 1948, Quaid-e-Azam said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-You have fought many a battle on the far-flung battle-fields of the globe to rid the world of the Fascist menace and make it safe for democracy.

Now you have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social justice and the equality of manhood in your own native soil.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Indian nationals in our files from day one are not allowing this country to become a reality because they want a confederation of Muslims states under lose federation within the Indian union.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ New DelhiƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has also accelerated their activities to compel Hindus and other minorities to migrate to other countries. There is no doubt that we have a clear direction, vision and mission before us and now it is time that all the Pakistanis including the minorities have to strive together to foil any attempt against our struggle to make Pakistan a reality.
