Letter to the editor: Yahapalanaya or Parana palanaya?

Last Thursday (23/6/2016) Daily Mirror’s cartoon reflects many a citizen’s feelings – President Maithripala dropping the flag of Yahapalanaya and walking away.
Nothing much has changed, has it? The Cabinet is top heavy as it was and more being added at the drop of the hat. The politicians are as unruly and thuggish even inside the parliament – especially inside the parliament. All the so called corruption cases – even murder cases are taking years to solve – if they are to be solved at all. All the culprits who were shivering in their boots when the President waxed eloquent on the Presidential election platform are in the parliament with extra fringe benefits to boot!
When the floods hit not a single parliamentarian visited the victims immediately, but made a mockery of the situation by visiting them wearing life vests after the floods have subsided. They as usual, were thumbing their noses at the voters, indicating that their lives are more precious than the voters’!
To top it all, not a single politician objected duty free cars for their clan specially at a time when thousands were just hit by floods and were suffering having lost everything except the clothes on their back. The callous attitude of the politicians was disgusting – what was the indecent hurry to get the cars? Couldn’t they wait at least for a month or two to bring this motion? The sheer insensitivity of the politicians was only enhanced by the absolute silence of the President regarding this matter.
Still the only way to attract attention of the higher ups seem to be riots and parades. Hate speech is spewing out from Gnanasara and the deafening silence from the law makers – in spite of his speech having gone viral and many even having lodged complaints with the police – bring a painful de ja vu feeling. Muslim politicians, in spite of the fact that there is no more tyranny, have not thought it prudent to curb this menace in the bud.
O, the list goes on and on. Palanaya yanne parana parey!

Raising the issues of multiplying mosques right round the country, mushrooming Sharia institutions around the country, wahabi colonies settling illegal aliens from Pakisthan etc in illegal land clearings in Wilpattu and other national rain forest lands in the country, illegal arms catches in mosques……is ‘spewing hate’????? Illegal mosques like the one in Kalubowila, Dehiwala (your hometown which looks like Kabul now!) is being built at night! Complaining about your nefarious activities is ‘hate speech???
Your painful de ja vu has not come yet; keep asking for it and you will get it!

Truth raised Ramanie grateful thanks. Trying to be clever, more cunning by saying first of yahapaalanaya and squeezing in “hate speech”. The root cause for all ills of this ONLY Sinhela national country in the world is the barbaric arrogance of one settler community or the other, the reason being UNLIKE in any other host national country they are given their illegal foreign national rights violating our inalienable national sovereignty. Those responsible initially for this grave crime are the traitorous party politicians whose perception of equality in one national country is upside down – in fact equality is the rights of host national rights ONLY throughout the Island Country.

The problem of using the hate speech law is that it will set a precedent that will be disadvantageous for Islam. If venerable Gnanasara Thera’s speech is legally classified as hate speech, the Quran will also be judged by the same yardstick. In law, two entities cannot be any different, they are the same in front of the law. Applied to this case Venerable Gnanasara and Quran are equal in law.
Although undue panic and overreaction are not needed, the barbaric ISIS terrorist attack in Bangladesh is worrying. It can happen in Sri Lanka too.

විහාරස්ථාන තුනකට අවහිර වන පරිදි කළුබෝවිල භාතියා මාවතේ රාත්‍රී කාලයේ ඉදිකරමින් පවතින අනවසර මුස්ලිම් පල්ලිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් නීතිඥ අශෝක සේරසිංහ මහතා කළ ප්‍රකාශයක් හේතුවෙන් මුස්ලිම් ජනතාවට අපහාසයක් සිදුව තිබෙන බවත්, එම ප්‍රකාශය මගින් ජාතිවාදය ඇවිස්සෙන බවත් පවසමින් එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී මුජිබර් රහුමාන් මහතා ඊයේ කොහුවල පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබෙනවා.

පන්සල් තුනක් වටකර රෑට රෑට හොරෙන් හදන මුස්ලිම් පල්ලියක්, කළුබෝවිල මුස්ලිම් අන්තවාදීන් ආගමික ගැටුමකට මුළපුරයි !
කළුබෝවිල හත්බෝධිය පුරාණ විහාරය, ශ්‍රී මහා විහාරය සහ භාතිය මාවත සාරානාත් ධර්ම නිකේතනය යන විහාරස්ථාන තුනකට මැදිව දේශපාලකයෙකුගේ මැදිහත්වීමෙන් අනවසරයෙන් ඉදිකරමින් පවතින මුස්ලිම් පල්ලියක් හේතුවෙන් ප්‍රදේශයේ සාමාකාමී වටපිටාවට දැඩි බලපෑමක් එල්ලවෙමින් පවතින අතර ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ගැටළුකාරී තත්ත්වයක් උද්ගත වෙමින් පවතී. මේ පිළිබදව දැනුවත් කිරීම සදහා පසුගිය ජූනි 19 වනදා කළුබෝවිල හත්බෝධිය විහාරස්ථානයේ මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් පැවැත්වුණු අතර මුජිබර් රහුමන් මන්ත්‍රීවරයාගේ පැමිණිල්ලට තුඩුදී ඇත්තේ එම මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවේදී නීතීඥ අශෝක සේරසිංහ මහතා ප්‍රදේශයේ ආගමික සහජීවනය බාධා කරමින් හිස ඔසවන මුස්ලිම් අන්තවාදී ක්‍රියා සම්බන්ධයෙන් කළ ප්‍රකාශයයි.
