At least six killed after rubbish dump buries around 40 homes in Sri Lanka

At least six people were killed and 10 injured in Sri Lanka’s capital after a massive rubbish dump buried an estimated 40 homes.
A 12-year-old boy and two teenage girls died at the Colombo National hospital where 10 others were being treated after they were rescued, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Three other people who were pulled from the wreckage of homes were already dead by the time they arrived at the hospital.

Yamapalakayo should take the responsibility without any argument because for two and a half years these poor people protested against this mountain of rubbish. They should take the dead bodies to the temple trees and demand compensation. This evil hearts in this Yamapalanaya least bothered of the cries of poor citizens in this country. They enjoy best of luxurious spending millions on unnecessary tamashas ignoring the poor masses. A guy who said that he will govern the country from the village spending millions to buy luxury cars while the poor die without food without homes, without anything. Bad governance, bad leadership bad management and worst representatives in the parliament. Citizens don’t misled by sweet talks of the shrewd, cunning and dirty filthy politicians. Hope these evil rulers will open their eyes now and do something as soon as possible.

Easier to blame this governement but all previous governements too are responsible for this dissaster. This probabaly is the only Capital city in the world for which there is no proper rubbsish disposal system in place even 70 years after independence.

මීතොටමුල්ල කුණුකන්දේ කොටසක් කඩා වැටිමෙන් සිදුවූ සිදුවූ මරණ සංඛ්‍යාව අද දහවල් 12.00 වන විට 15 ක් දක්වා ඉහළ ගොස් තිබිණ. තවත් විශාල පිරිසක් අතුරුදන් යයි වාර්තා වන හෙයින් ඒ පිළිබඳ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් දිගටම කෙරේ. සිද්ධියෙන් තුවාල ලැබූ 11 දෙනෙක් කොළඹ ජාතික රෝහලේ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබති.
හානිය පිළිබඳ සොයා බැලීම සඳහා නීතිය හා සාමය ඇමති සාගල රත්නායක මහතා පැමිණි අවස්ථාවේදී ප්‍රදේශවාසීහු ඇමතිවරයාට විරෝධය දැක්වූහ. ඇමතිවරයා සමගින් පැමිණි පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී එස්. එම්. මරික්කාර් මහතාටද “හූ“ කියමින් විරෝධතා දැක්වූහ.
“මැරුණට පස්සේ මොනව බලන්න එනවද” යයි කියමින් ප්‍රදේශවාසීහු ඇමතිවරයාට විරෝධය දැක්වූහ.
මේ අතර මීතොටමුල්ල කුණු කන්දට විරෝධය දැක්වීමේ සංවිධානය පුවත් පත් සාකච්ඡාවක් පවත්වමින් කියා සිටියේ මෙය ස්වභාවික විපතක් නොව මිනී මැරුමක් බවයි.
“2011 සිට මේ කුණු කන්දට විරෝධය පැවැත්වෙනවා. කිසිම පිළිතුරක් නෑ“
“කුණු කන්ද නාය යාමට පැවැති ආණ්ඩුව මෙන්ම වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුවත් වගකිව යුතුයි. මිනී මැරීමේ චෝදනාව යටතේ ආණ්ඩු දෙකේම පාලකයන්ට මරණීය දණ්ඩනය නියම කළ යුතු වෙනවා“ යයි කුණු කන්ද ඉවත් කරගැනීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණයට ගිය නීතිඥ නුවන් බෝපගේ මහතා පැවසීය.
ප්‍රදේශවාසියකු වන ඩඩ්ලි දන්තනාරායන මහතා මාධ්‍ය හමුවේ අදහස් දක්වමින් පවසා සිටියේ මෙම කුණු කන්ද මෙතැනින් ඉවත් කරගැනීම සඳහා සාකච්ඡා කිරීමට මීට දින කිහිපයකට පෙර තමන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී එස්. එම්. මරික්කාර් මහතා හමුවීමට ගිය බවයි. එහෙත් එයින් කිසිදු ප්‍රයෝජනයක් අත්නොවූ බවද දන්තනාරායන මහතා පැවසීය.
“මේ දවස් වල පාර්ලිමේන්තුව නිවාඩු. අවුරුද්දෙන් පස්සේ පාර්ලිමේන්තුව පටන් ගත්තාම මේකට විසඳුමක් දෙන්නම් කියලා තමයි එයා කිව්වේ“ යයි දන්තනාරායන මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

Abans are the ones who got the contract collect Colombo rubbish and the rubbish tip.
These Indian Colonial parasites started becoming rich and richer from giving toilet paper and tissues and other house hold needs to Rosmead Place household.

ඉන්දියානු පරපෝසිත අබන්ස්ල තමයි කොලොඹ කුනු එකතු කරන්නෙත් කුනුකන්දල් ගහන්නෙත්.
මුන් මහදනවතුන් උනේ රොස්මීඩ් ප්ලේස් එකේ බන්ඩලට පුකපිහින හොටුපිහින හා වෙනත් ගේදොර බඩු දීල.
අද මුන්ගෙන් යැපෙන ජෙප්පො මීතොටමුල්ල ව්පැත්තියෙන් රට අල්ලන්න යනව.

Sri Lanka must start separating recyclables from organic waste as a first step to reducing the garbage at the landfill. Many countries request the households to separate the garbage and have two or more receptacles for waste. There can be one for recyclables and another for household waste. The household waste can be converted into compost or incinerated with the generation of energy.
