Darwinian Fitness of the Tamils

In Biological discourse, fitness is measured by the ability to overcome challenges and to expand into habitats heretofore unoccupied. This ‘Darwinian Fitness’ has little to do with intrinsic worth or elegance of organization. As an example, the Norway Rat has a world-wide distribution bespeaking its extraordinary Darwinian Fitness. In contrast, the Giant Panda – a most beautiful creature – is close to extinction in its native habitats. Let us look at human races – some dominate the world while others are at the edge of extinction. A good measure of this biological success is the spread of the genes that act as racial markers. The White Caucasoid genes are represented by racial groups that straddle the globe and there is no need to add that they call the shots in Global politics.
Let us look at the ‘Darwinian Fitness’ of the two major racial groups in Sri Lanka. The Tamil genes have spread across the globe due to the expansive vigour of this race. Starting about a century ago, the Tamils – originally in South India – spread to South Africa, Malaysia, Fiji, and other distant habitats. About a century later there was a major expansion into Europe and North America with Britain and Canada as the principal recipients of this human ‘baggage’. Last to be mentioned – but not least – was the great movement within Sri Lanka where Tamils by the million invaded the Sinhala heartland and became permanent residents of the South. Given this stupendous success as a vigorous variant of a biological species, why this foul-mouthing and complaining about the ‘intolerance’ of the Sinhala people? More intriguingly, why do our leading politicians point the finger at the Sinhala People as the perpetrators of an historic injustice to the Tamils when it is the runaway demographic success of the Tamils that is the real danger to an imperiled Sri Lanka? That the Tamils and Muslims will outnumber the native Sinhala people in the decades ahead is a foregone conclusion. It is the sad extinction of a once glorious race that will trouble the historian.

Part of the problem is wrong interpretation of Buddhism by some interested parties. Economic prosperity of Buddhists must be enhanced. Governments waste most development funds in the north and east where Buddhists are acutely discriminated against. Tamil colonization of Colombo and other areas in the south must be curtailed as the north is a no-go zone for Sinhalese. Towards this end, the Indian federal model is far more suitable than the 13A federal model.
Prevention of extinction of the Sinhala race must be done at all cost. Ultimately what will remain is the legacy, not how it was protected. There is no other land for Sinhalas unlike Tamils.

An interesting viewpoint, especially the observation that Buddhism has been misinterpreted to lead to inertia with regard to the pursuit of economic prosperity. This may be only partly correct, and probably due to the idealization of monkhood and the abandonment of the lay-life as the path to achieving Nirvana. The Buddha did leave instructions of how the lay-life should be lived, and the duties and responsibilities within that life, and did not decry the need for hard work, discipline and responsibilities and achievement of success within an ethical framework.
What the SL Tamil community has achieved and is viewed as being successful is only seen for the financial and career successes of its members, but the unethical aspects of deceit and financial corruption, as well as exploitation of the lower castes has been shoved under the rug and only the material aspects are being evaluated. Look at the community today and what the LTTE, the “sole representative of the Tamils” has left as its legacy, and inculcated the members to do in the name of the Eelam cause, but within which deceit is acceptable and the end justifies the means, both of which have become almost hard-wired and institutionalized, framing a way of life for generations of SL Tamils to come.
While affording success, Natural Selection also ensures that success can peak out, for with the generations of inherited wealth will also come decay. It is an ethical framework that can provide the fibre for a community’s survival, and for this despite all the odds of today, the Sinhala community has the teachings of the Buddha, which still have relevance after centuries of continued assault.

Look at the community today – We-Tamil are hard working people that why our successful is financial ( eg : Lyca)and career successes (Eg Google COE) all over the world today that why Our Sinhala sakodaraya gave all higher job ( Central Bank, Judge etc..) to us since 1948 to day to rectify their comico economic policy .
Even though We-Tamil are well know day light thieves ( Mahendran) , Are you happy Nilwakla now ???

While it is not my intention to change someone’s views, just a couple of lines after reading this author’s piece in the Island today. Understanding Buddhism is like walking into the ocean ,the depth deepens as you go. In my opinion this author has a very simple superficial understanding of Buddhism, no wonder he is an atheist. In short, if he wishes to learn, Abidhamma or Karmic decadence, which he has quoted in his article, both are false in Lokoththara (Super mundane) path. This may baffle many Buddhists so I stop there. Any interested one should approach a learned Buddhist.
I’m amazed, Mr Chandrasoma keeps so much faith on science, ‘where our knowledge of science is used to improve human condition’, for me is a total misnomer, wonder where on earth this has happened over the centuries. Not where I live at least but probably where he lives in his place! People in abject poverty, terrorism & war , disease & disharmony worse than ever.He may point to planes ships rockets, drugs ,latest interventional medical procedures but has any made any worthwhile difference to life over centuries, I ask. Spend your time & energy learning Buddhism, I say to any reader.

Without Ethics & Honor, all monetary gains become hollow. The person who cheated/was knowingly deceitful, will not truly enjoy illgotten gains. Tamil folk or any other Lankans abroad who cheated in the money world are now behind bars. Have the Yahap govt people who cheated peoples money from the Central Bank earned the respect of the People of Lanka ? These are foreign political games brought into Lanka and not a part of Buddhist indigenous thinking.
Even if a kid cheats and wins in a game, the other kids who saw him cheat will probably comment on it, and even ostracise such a cheater ! No one will really want such a kid as his friend. Such is human nature, even as children. It comes with the chip, as they say.
“Trustful are kinsmen best” says a Buddhist Dhammapada. Buddhist Teachings are eternal. It is not the Buddhism that is faulty, it is the IGNORANCE of our own true nature.

– “Truth is within you” said the Buddha
– The word ‘Islam’ means Peace.
– The Four Great Yogas of Hinduism leads to the Godhead within each of us.
TRUST & RESPECT will have to be EARNED by anyone doing business in Lanka, or anywhere else for that matter. It is the same in politics or any other sphere of human activity.

Not all Tamils.
JAFFNA TAMILS have been EXCEPTIONALLY SUCCESSFUL. Why?
1. WIDE BELIEVED JTs have HIGHER IQ like JEWS for whatever reason. May be its HIGH FISH consumption. Fish has HIGH DHA/EPA Omega-3 fatty acids. May be its SESAME SEED OIL which we eat and APPLY on body!! May be its in the water!!
As we say in Jaffna, IF SL is a person, Jaffna is her HEAD.
(Now please don’t hate me for telling this. You can disagree.)
2. Generally JTs BOND together very strongly. DISSENT is not tolerated.
3. Singhala politicians come begging to JAFFNA for JT votes but JT politicians NEVER NEVER NEVER go begging for Singhala or Muslim votes!! I think this is the MAIN reason why we COMMAND.
e.g. When ALL chief ministers had to take oaths at GOVENOR’s office, NPC CM Viggie was INVITED to the president’s office in 2013 to take oaths!! He was not even from the UPFA!!
e.g. Govt. put a railway line from VAVUNIYA to JAFFNA before even thought of extending the railway line from MATARA to H’TOTA.

Re Tamil politics :
It is the Tamil politician who misleads the Tamil people. The V’koddai Resoln (1976)- Eelam through violence – is still not officially retracted.
Development must take place in all areas. INDIA messed up Lanka during the Cold War times with the 13-A and training of the LTTE in Tamil Nadu, plus other negative acts. INDIA and Tamil politicos must be exposed for these misdeeds.
Put in place Life Supportive methods to deal with disasters as well as daily living. What are the PCs doing ?
It is time to move forward for all in Lanka !

OK, We-Tamil arrived 1300 or 1505 ( after your Gran arrived) or 1800 (as Kuli for English man Tea’s plant ) or 1948 (independent as kalla thoni) – Are Happy .
You ( as born christian ) Never Ever understand Karma(M) & Dharma(m) which We both community believe that is our life & that why We live together last 2,500 years or more and will live another 3,000 years or more in Our Chignkala Theevu ( Sinhela Island) !!!!

No one know Bhuddist Sinhales & Saiva Thamilr lived in Our Mother Lanka but definitely We all know Logu Banda & Sinna Thambi lived last 2,500 years or more & live for another 3,000 years more in Our Sinhela( SinEelam) Island !!!!
When I visited first time ( left 1983) my mother land last month my Sinhela driver convinced to got local price ticket for me lady at the entrance ask me if I can speck sinhela I told her ” Ipida onthada kaththa karanda pulung, Ipe Japanaya minisu thamai” She laughed & open the gate !!!!
Now You know understand why will not leave our mother land & We are not going any where my Sinhela Bro & Sis not Land We love We love You All & We-Tamil will kick out Indian’s when ever necessary , that why you need us .
